I rarely played it because for the life of me, I actually got stumped (no joke. I had no idea how to get past the Shooting Beaver section), and since I was quite the young kid at the time with very limited finances, I spent my money on games that I could play the longest before game over.

LucasArts had Rebel Assault games. It was like bringing the arcade home and playing it on a mouse. Soon it was MechWarrior and Baldurs Gate and I never turned back.
So glad I got to see this. Man, it's been a while! Make no mistake, this was a tough one. So many enemies, so many ways to mess up. The final battle in town alone was insane. I saw _one_ player make it to the ultimate showdown against Mad Dog McCree... and he couldn't do it. The scoundrel was just too damn fast. There might have been some trick to maybe draw a bead on him faster, but I'll never know now. Never knew there was a bad ending. Hell, if I could ever finish this at all, I probably would've been plenty satisfied with that!
You had to beat the game without using a single "Continue". If you could, you'd get the gold. If not, the chest will be empty, and Mad Dog will later be seen escaping (with the treasure presumably).
They had this game at an arcade in my neighborhood. I played it, but there was part very early on that I never figured out what to do with. Just seeing this video makes me realize just what a basic mistake I made. I didn't play it that much because it was an expensive game to play and I didn't want to waste money figuring out what I needed to do. P.S. It was where Shooting Beaver was about to be lynched. I think my mistake was not shooting the lyncher after shooting the bad guy at the window.
How come quality is that good, when I played it back in 90s quality was terrible, static scenes weren't so bad but when camera was on the move it was flipping squares show.
The bad guys are so considerate to come at you one at a time.
