The churches you visited are incredibly beautiful. The interior of the San Agustin Church was fabulous, and the Lady of Perpetual Help Church was stunning with all of the lights on it. I can see why people would be drawn to them. The interiors of these magnificent churches just lend themselves to feeling close to God and to contemplation. i am awed by their beauty.😯

First of all, THANK YOU for the walking tour! You brought back so many memories. From walking past Pacific Star where I used to work, to walking through Bgy 763 in San Andres Bukid, which is just a few minutes from our old house in Rubi St (my mum still lives there). And then Paco! The market is so sosyal na ha. I remember when it was literally a palengke. I even saw you walk past the ukay-ukay I frequented on Dart St (Angel Linao now). And Paco Cemetery is more known as Paco Park, and is more knoen as a wedding venue now. Did you know that Jose Rizal was first buried there, after his execution? The spot is still marked by a small monument, as far as I know. Paco Park is just down the street from my old high school, Manila Science, and that's where we had choir rehearsals back in the 80s. Kind of glad you didn't go to Quiapo because it's insane during Traslacion! Grabe, you walked pa to Binondo! And thanks for correcting that it was the old San Agustin Church. Manila Cathedral is outside Intramuros yata. Btw, the mall you visited was Robinson's Place Manila, not Robinson's Magnolia. 😆 The circular Malate area you noted is called Remedios Circle. It used to be the heart of the bohemian night area. Cafe Remedios and all the original Manila sing-alongs. It's mostly Korean places now. Thank you again, for the tour. Hope you do more in the future. Manila can be a beautiful area to explore, not just sosyal BGC. 😂😂😂

Good morning, and happy Friday, Kulas!! Hi Therine! I caught a fast glimpse of Kumar as he dropped you off at the airport! Im looking forward to watching your trip together! You walked faaaaar Kulas! And at night time too!
You're so brave and courageous! I love how so many people of every age stop to welcome you. I'm sure the locals admire you for sharing other islands and places that they only dream of seeing one day. You have some amazing drone shots of Kumar surfing and the many beautiful beaches ⛱️ I loved this video! See you on your next ADVENTURE 😊🎉
    Bye Bye 👋 Kumar

Your crosswalk story reminds me of this funny short I watched. You know how in Canada you press the pedestrian cross walk button, in the video there’s a basket with bricks in it that you hold up and carry across with you, to make sure the cars stop😂

Former batang Paco here. The Paco cemetery was used to be a cemetery for those considered by the Spaniards as "non catholics", or erehe like Jose Rizal where he was buried. Nostalgia striked me when I saw all the places you went. Brings back a lot of good memories. Missing the warmth in Philipines. Hope to be back during spring break vacation! Power on! From NewWest BC

Manila is a walkable city most especially during cold months (November to February). Nice to see familiar places you walked through. Enjoy your visit to Cebu for the Sinulog. I suggest you hop to Kalibo for the Ati-atihan (the Mother of All Filipino Festivals) on January 18-19 and to Iloilo City for the Dinagyang Festival on January 25-26. You can consider extending your stay in Iloilo for the Jaro Fiesta in Honor of Our Lady of Candles on February 2. Enjoy! Ingat! Amping! Halong!

You just need act and think smart, be aware of your surroundings, always alert and be cautious -- thats all an you'll be fine.

A not so trivial historical ltrivia: The Paco Park Cemetery used to be the original (secretly obscured) burial place of Dr. Jose Rizal after he was shot to death by order of Sanish authorities at the Bagumbayan field (now Luneta / Rizal Park. His remains were later dug out from Paco cemetery and officially interred at base of the Rizal Monument in Luneta where he now rests for all time. 🙏🙏🙏

When I first went to BGC in June 1998, my companies site offices were there, The Fort was the only buildings there, the rest was empty space. Had my first night out in the Philippines there. Sad to see it finished. In 2003 I did a radar survey on parts of St. Agustin Church to try and detect if there were any cavities in some of the walls, and also a structural assessment for earthquake mitigation. As a designated World Heritage Site we couldn't do destructive surveys so we used radar. The priest there told us of stories that there was a tunnel built underground to help hide people from the Spanish. We did some radar scans in the area he thought it might be and we found on the scans what indicated a tunnel. Sadly we weren't allowed to do any further investigation. Power On.

Canadian cities like Edmonton have rentable eScooters, eBikes&Segways. Wonder if u can use the eScooters&eBikes, eSkateboards or segways in BGC. Sidewalks' probably too uneven plus doubt cars will give you right of way. More likely it will get stolen even if there's a geolocation limitations to it.
