Please take this as a compliment! We are a bunch of guys in an MMA fight gym who watch your videos to learn more strength and control workouts in order to help us in our sport. We all think both you and your sister have stunningly beautiful smiles! We love it when you have your sister in your videos and we have a good laugh. Thank you for your channel! PS: We all look more like Simona when we do your workouts.
You guys are awesome, I like to watch MMA and Boxing too. Ballet will improve your speed, lightness, sharpness of brain, focus determination, musicality (not directly related to MMA but still who doesnt love to be in rhythm and feel the time of music executed through steps with your body. I like to see Simona too, I have only been dancing 2years, and feel less than perfectly coordinated. Keep it up guys, maybe try a beginnrr barre class! Us ladies will be Ok with that!💖💃💪
@@kristalallen2131 Thank you! We've just installed a barre in our gym to help with some workouts. It is amazing how improved our control and jumping abilities have become. Most of all, our incidents of hip injuries is way down.
@@maxxq874 So happy to hear injury is down, no one wants to be out or down if we dont have to. I actually lookec up a few boxing and MMAS studios out of curiosity thinking I may try for fun. I wad scared because of impact and injury of hitting/ kicking the heavy bag. Last year my shins were painful becausr of jumping, now that I put my heels down in landing they are better. Maybe if I am in your neck of the woods I will take a class. Also, you can strech on barre to get length for kicks and help your muscles memorize form, remember yo do your stretches.
@@kristalallen2131 Thanks for the advice on stretching (we're kind of lazy on that part). As far as your shin pain is concerned, may I suggest calf-strengthing exercises? We find shin pain to be common with people who overdo the rope-skipping in the beginning. Usually, it's related to weak calf muscles. Impact shouldn't be a worry if you approach bag workouts gradually...light impact to learn control first.
@@maxxq874 Yes, I promise to do calf raises on one and two legs more frequently and use resistance band exercises, it helps strenghten my feet for my pointe shoes, I actually like the exercise alot. It makes sense to start with a lighter weight when training to hit the bag. Thanks for you advise and besy luck to your training and matches for you and your guys at your studio.
I just wrote the exercises down for me and thought someone might find this useful (this shouldnt be instead of the video bc she says so many important things) 1. Exercise "Jump" with flat back on floor- legs plie (keep heels on floor until you actually jump) 2. Exercise one legged jumps (petit retiré) heels on floor again 8 each speed medium 3. Exercise calf rises (30x each) - possibly on a step 4. Exercise calf rises on a bent knee (only 70%) - perfectly parallel (16x each) 5. Exercise going through where body needs to be (back needs to be straight - not too far forward or back 10cm of lower back need to be long) 6. Exercise use two bars for leverage to have a perfect position in the air (correct landings - knees over pinkie toes) 7. Exercise weight placement 8. Exercise use your arms (arms before legs) if I forgot something important please tell me
A word of caution re. the first exercise. A super strong classmate of mine put her feet through the drywall of our studio doing exercise number 1 years ago. Choose walls cautiously!
When I have another child and the baby is a girl, Eliana is the name i have picked out. And oh my goodness that pointe of hers is amazing. Great video Claudia , i love learning from you and seeing your bright smile.
Perfect timing. I'm learning the variation from Pas de Quatre with like, 30 entrechats, and I fatigue halfway through and can't get high enough to point my toes lol. Thanks for the great tips!!! Can't wait to entrechat lift off into outer space XD
My daughter has been in Dance since she was four. She’s 13 now and we were just told to work extra on her jumping. This video is super helpful and super appreciated. Thank you!
Please keep posting these videos fo re ver !! I am an adult ballerina from Brazil ... loving your tips! You speak so well and it helps me to understand your english😊
I have an overall issue with posture and alignment between my shoulders, back, and hips, but for some reason when I'm jumping (according to one of the toughest teachers I've ever had) my posture is perfect. I love jumps and these videos are so helpful!
Hi Claudia! One thing that I struggle with when I leap is getting the power to hit both legs in a split in the air simultaneously. I tend to do what my dance teachers call a “rainbow leap!” Each leg goes up one at a time. I practice at home but I am in need of some tips on how to “hit it”! What can I do to improve? Your channel teaches me so much!
I am a good jumper but I watch this because I love Claudia advices and I think my jumps like grand jeté are not that much high so let’s have better and higher jump ✨
Beautiful as always Miss Claudia thank you for sharing your tips exercises 3 4 and 7 do for me I'm a good jumper but on height I'm not because like you explained my calves need more strength thank you!!💖😊
I’m testing to be a police officer, and one part I keep failing on the fitness portion is the vertical jump. I may have to give these exercises a go :)
Hi Claudia, you talk about not lifting the heel before you jump but at what point should the heel leave the floor? Is it as soon as the legs are straight?
Thank you Claudia for showing us exercises and tips for a higher jump. My heels come off the floor mostly in landings, but I will watch to see if they do in take off for jumps, but I will try the calf raises, floor plies, and push offs (maybe in the pool 👙. Also, the tip about arms before legs and weight over front leg when pushing off was helpful. Aeliana has Beautiful feet and her jumps are great.
can you make a series only for men's jumping from scratch ... and also a video totally on landing safely and healthily! I have done operations for external snapping hip syndrome / Dancers's Hip ... the sports surgeon said is more or less only dancers and Handball players getting this iasue where the fashia on the outside of the hip thickens to the level of creating friction and evenutally a snap because is to tight after all the friction that built up a thick fashia and so one needs to cut it down so muscles can move freely over the hip bones... he said the friction appears when you landing from high jumps in dancing! so this is why I love support with a video on how to land safely and healthily! 💪🏻😀 thanks from Sweden!
