Little did they know that they would break the record the next night
Tyler Beasley they scored 98.8 to beat the record RCC set of like 98.5 i think is what it was
In marching class. Not in all of WGI. Highest score in WGI history still stands at 99.6
What if I told you guys... they didn't actually turn the front ensemble down? They probably just didn't record them to begin with. Because... why do that if they don't represent their brand?
Watching the opener of this show feels like im looking at a sad montage of drumline clips in front of sorrow music
Those bass mallets are monstrous
Everybody seems to be bothered about the whole, "Broken City uses Promark for the front?" but I'm most bothered by how the quads use Mike Jackson's instead of Roger Carter's not to mention the basses using fuzzies and the snares using piccolo tips but Vic doesn't put it in the description. Just set off my OCD right there.
Are the snares using Roger Carter's sticks, because I want them.
so glad they won
are the bass heads see through?
1:15 got em
Why dose the front use promark mallets?
The front ensemble caption head is a promark artist, while Mike Jackson is a Vic firth artist
@@ebach615 shouldn't matter. Usually you can lose sponsorship/endorsement from a company for doing stuff like that unless those artists worked out a deal. Honestly, I think they sounded better with Vic but that's my personal opinion
@@bigern4369 if you look at the broken city sponsors, they're sponsored by both promark and vic firth. Both companies are fully aware.
Sean is my freaking hero hes so tall I dont thinks hes 100% human
Anybody else notice that Broken City was using Promark in their front ensemble? Probably why they're not featured at all in this video.
@@JorgeLopez-yb1ct its also because they use evans heads and evans is a promark company :D
That bassline is so teusgstzj
Meanwhile Pulse in the background
they didn’t record the front ensemble because they use promark stuff. just fyi everyone
rip deanna 3:14
They set the record? In my opinion it’s undeserved.
Nicholas Godinez I was there and it wasn’t super clean. Not saying they shouldn’t have won, but this is just not the arguably best PIW show in existence.
It was definitely deserved in my opinion. A lot of groups can have more physically difficult books and ram notes while being piss clean, but the cold attacks, ambiguous timing, along with some of the most challenging to read music I personally have ever seen, I think it was well deserved. There were many parts in the music that were just written as accels and deccels without defining the speed of the rhythms and that to me is why Broken City was better. Cleanliness isn't always everything, but I will say something about the quads didn't quite hit for me but I digress. I also can't forget to mention the front ensemble. I have no words for that, the FE is insane.
Ok story time:
Back towards the beginning of the season when we were figuring out how to play the book in the lot, Zach turns to me and says, "let's play rock, paper, scissors... It will be on the Vic Firth video."
Fast forward to the semifinals lot - the Vic Firth cameras are there, and I'm all like "wow, Zach was right, us playing rock paper scissors will be on the Vic Firth video." So the time comes to do it (1:29 in the video), and I unleash the mighty 'paper' shape with my right hand, and ZACH FRICKIN FORGETS TO DO IT! AND THE VIC FIRTH CAMERAS CAUGHT IT. I'll never forgive him.
Kyle Tsuchiya press F for respects
Well, now the season will never be fully complete D:
this is amazing.
This is so upsetting.
WGI will take it's gold medal back
