One of the greatest (and most underrated) Dance tracks of the 80's!
I think it was produced by Trevor Horn ( if I remember correctly)🤔.........this extended version rocked parties, and club dancefloors.........if you know, you know........

I’ll never forget the first time I heard this track. I was nine and I immediately made it a part of my life’s playlist. Totally obscure for the time in my region of the world. Still is.

What part of the world is that? It's obscure where I am too (Missouri). Then again, it came out 38 years ago, so the last couple of generations need to have middle-agers like me point it out to them so they can appreciate truly wonderful, magnificent music rather than having to torture their ears with the s#i+ they call music today.

@@rexcruciatus2036 California, San Francisco Bay Area. I consider myself an outsider that doesn’t follow social norms, never have. Shitty people listen to shitty music and I’m okay with that. I don’t want to be like everybody else.

@@prospicere Very interesting you should say the Bay Area. Last year (thanks to Ancestry), I discovered I have a half-brother & sister I never knew about. That's a totally separate story, but after the shock wore off, the first thing I asked was what kind of music & groups they're into. I grew up in So Cal, and new music was a big part of my life, and I was exposed to a lot of new music, new groups, and KROQ. We weren't far at all from Hollywood. So I asked what kind of music they like, and they said Oh, you know, country, and a little rock. I was aghast. COUNTRY??!! EWWWW! And when they grew up in the same area as Jello Biafra, the Dead Kennedys, and Pansy Division??!! How did THAT happen??!!

One of my top tracks of all time, and if I had to pick just one track to represent the duo that was known as "Blancmange", this would be it.
Not that obscure though. Blancmange is pretty much always gonna come up in any serious discussion of synth pop, new wave or "1980s keyboard music" whatever you want to call it. The entire catalog that matters as well as a few anthologies have been available on CD by the time the format was popular, although it did take until 2008 to get a proper digital remaster. Blancmange is apparently still active although only Neil Arthur has any real involvement, with the exception of maybe "Happy Families Too" it's pretty forgettable.

I am inclined to agree. Also one of the most underrated groups ever - especially their new stuff from Blancburn onwards. Neil Arthur is such a wonderful, deeply creative and deeply modest man. I wish him all the very best. The same goes for the brilliant Stephen Luscombe who has unfortunately been so ill.

It's crazy how this sounds a lot like a Cabaret Voltaire song, but Cabaret Voltaire sorta ripped it off in their collaboration with Al Jorgenson-- Acid Horse, No Slogan.

Have to be wary of devious intent, certainly at workplace, Envy & Jealously of global projects creates an inferior complex. Even the top level playing programs of criminal activity & no respect. Reference John Foxx album Metamatic and Blurred Girl or New Kind of Man (young again 19 again). The Lesson is workplace has nothing to do with private life and projects on a massive global scale. Different level.
