Like much of this season (even when we were on the winning spell which now seems a very long time ago), in the past couple of games we played a decent first half against Hearts and a decent second half against Motherwell, it's just worrying that we don't seem to be able to get a 90 minute performance from this squad in any match.
Also clean sheet looks good on paper but Hearts played 60 mins firing long balls to a tiny slight 17 year old. Had Wilson had a target man alongside him not sure we would have coped. Amazed hearts felt a nil nil draw was a good result. We were there for the taking.
Doohan . Great penalty save but woeful at the corner that McCart should have scored from . Very similar to second Ross Co goal. Seems unable to judge the flight of cross balls.
First clean sheet since October. I'd been criticising Doohan but fair doos. As a back up keeper you need to build confidence quickly to impose your authority so hopefully this has helped. The rest of defence also looked better. Agree about McGarry. Tobers looks like class. Just what we needed. And Sivert Nilson did well again at the back - though he is a very frustrating player. Very good for about 80% of any given game but then consistently makes pretty awful mistakes.
love the signings so far, exactly what i have been asking for, just a striker to go. would be tempted to punt jack and mcgrath in jan now, get a few quid and save a chunk in wages for a big name striker. full marks to the board for backing jimmy, great backing and a hefty amount of money paid out, especially for a jan window.
Big statement spending that money in January, i think if the right price is there Jack and Jamie will go. Striker to go - but a permenant one or a loan one?
@@RedTintedGlasses actually in not bothered about a striker going as long as we definitely have a main striker coming in. We should have gueye back soon, so to be honest, I would prefer we send back nisbett and use that wage on someone we actually own and could have a resale value if they smash. Ambrose could benefit from a loan where he gets game time, but I still think he is getting treated harshly by some fans. Most strikers need a goid run of games to get scoring, he won't get that with us just now. Loan worked perfectly for gueye hopefully kick starts ambrose career
Few things for you to tick off. Doohan - he’s not a top6 starting keeper. He’s a very able guy to have to come in and 4-5 games a season. He’s not nor never will be a guy to have as your no1 for the season. He did well on Sunday, no mistakes, his first clean sheet though in the season. I like him. Not as my no1 though. McGarry - he’s a good player but I think he’s got too much of those fast twitch fibres to make him reliable. He’s always going to be getting up to speed or out injured. Okkels - interesting thing is even though he looked meh, the stats boys loved him. Tobers - looked good,he’s going to be the no1 CB Keskinen - looks great until the final ball in the last 3rd Clarkson - player we’re going to have to persevere with and find a spot for him. We still owe him around £1m in wages! McGrath, MacKenzie, potentially Duk -we need to move on asap. Though I doubt there’s not much value in moving Duk on. On a striker I think we’re counting days til Pape is back. Hopefully he’s not going to be Angus mk2!
I do hope McGarry will stay fit and we can keep him going with a regular run, my one concern maybe on him is he can be caught out high up the pitch. Agree on moving the players on, i also think with Duk whilst there might not be value, he is an option for us to use given the injuries and inexperience.
Their inability to even try to control high balls is really grating. Take a quick side glance & at least try divert it to our own players. better still use chest or feet dampen the momentum first but no just a mindless header back to sender without exaggeration we have been the worst team in this aspect from what I have watched. you'd think this is something they would focus on in training

Breaking news from the excellent Red Tinted Glasses Podcast. Great work lads.🙂🙂
Thanks Colin
Was Clarkson playing deeper because Nilsen was playing CB and that is why he was required to play a deeper midfield role.
I would have been the sole vote for Palaversa on that bus

Hopefully the entire defence can take confidence from the clean sheet
I am not sure if there is a role for clarkson ? Maybe time to sell him.

Thelin is getting the signings in the door. It's time we started seeing some results.
Yes, unfortunately a few of these players are going to take time to get up to speed.

For months Dons have needed centre/half centre/forward and midfielder, sorry but Ambrose is the worst player i seen in years.
Sadly the transfer window hasnt been open for months, but encouraging to see us do business early.
@@RedTintedGlasses if you are of the opinion Ambrose is worst player to play for Aberdeen for years, I doubt you’ve been to Pittodrie since the 80s
