I absolutely love this. The way the pattern does the chest fits the dog perfectly and eliminates the wrinkle we see at the top of the shoulders on so many patterns. It's genius. I also like the neckline, as opposed to the typical bulky cuff. Your video is excellent at teaching. I added a few extra increases because Mini Schnauzers have deep chests, plus I made the back longer for her long back. She gets cold. I've saved this as my foundation pattern and made a Word doc with instructions including how I've altered it to fit her. Sleeveless is much easier to put on the dog, and I think looks better. I've made two dresses from your wonderful pattern already. One is hot pink with four rows of tightly bunched ruffles on the rump, two pink and two white, white shell trim at the top half of the arm holes, and a big crocheted white rose with leaves up near the neck (attached very well so she can't eat it). That's one for dress up and it's a knock-out. The second is intended for every day use in a variegated yarn in two shades of teal, white, and gold (not metallic) with neckline and armhole trim and one ruffle around the end all in the same gold color, with the end tapered to a gentle curve. I'm thinking of crocheting a big gold sunflower for that one but want to wait and see where her harness will sit before deciding. It's adorable, but not over the top. If a dog needs a sweater we might as well make it attractive, right? And be able to pop in the laundry and come out looking good. Great stash buster, too. Thanks so much for your invaluable help!
Aww so sweet! Your puppers definitely gets lots of care and Love. You are also very creative with the colour and cool designing for your dog dresses (as you have explained in such good detail in your comment) as if you have shown the dresses to me :). Thank you so much for your time to let me know that you enjoyed the tutorial. It really means a lot to me👏🏻🫶🏻🧶❤️

DC means double crochet
I love the dress it’s absolutely gorgeous. I would love to make one for baby I have chihuahua. Im not really confident following just by watching I’m a beginner my crocheting skill are getting better but I need someone to talk them through with me as you go . Can you help ?
How do i make this into a size medium
When you slip, stitch into the 2nd chain from hook. Does it make the count 49 chains instead of 50?
It makes it 50 sts because the ch 2 in the beginning of the round count as a double crochet.
@@crochetit ok. Thanks for letting me know.
What does dc mean? I thought it meant decrease but I don’t see you decrease 11 stitches.. I’m new to this.. please help
Double crochet
Double crochet
Dec is decrease.
for rounds 14-18 do you go around the whole piece 5 times or just the sleeve/arm hole area?
For rnd 14 to 18 you are just going to dc 1 into each stitch all the way around the whole piece (5 rounds in total).
@@crochetit HI :) Im on this step now-In the video you do 2 ch and then start the dc-But should you right away do 1dc? or should all 5 rounds be started with 2 ch? How do you end those rounds?
Is it ch 2, dc 61, sl in second ch x 5? (62)
From round 14-18, do you continue to slip stitch into the chain 2?
For round 14-18 you are just going to do dc 1 into each st around for 5 rounds and when you finish a round you will do a slip stitch into the 2nd ch to lose off a round.
How can I make it a large
Lo puede traducir en español para leer lo que dice gracias
Hi, still learning...
What do you mean 8 dc inc 1
When you say 9 dc inc 1 x4 ???
an inc is when u do 2 dcs into one stitch, so “8dc inc 1” is 8dc (1 dc in the next 8 stitches) and then 2dcs in one stitch (which is called an increase abbreviated to inc.)
as for 9 dc inc 1 x4, its the same thing as the explanation above, the “x4” just means you repeat it 4 times until u reach the end of the row. i hope this helps :)
I’m using a Bernat 4 ply yarn but I find the crochet hook which I’m using is. 3.75 is too small for the yarn? Is your yarn a 3 ply?
I am using Dk yarn which is a size 3 weight yarn
How do i make this for my french bulldog
How many skeins did you use?
I used about 145-150m of yarn
Any clue how to make this a size large 😍
×2 ithink for M-L
Hi, no sorry. :)
for the life of ribbing out again and again i am on the chain 2 miss 3 stc and have 12 squares i end up haveing more do i need to dereese more i have followed this pattern and counted stitches please advise
done lol xxxx its amazing ty so much xxx
good day if im going to make an increase in the chain for a bigger dog, do i need to adjust the increase in the next rows?
Yes
Hello! can i know how many stiches i need to make for a female 2-3year old pug? and other than the neck are the other sizes enough/the same? (its a gift for my friend)
Did you check if the measurements would fit the dog? :)
@@crochetit no she is a bit too squirmy but ig she’s the average and tysm for responding #best YT ever
Ok so for this pattern I used a 4.0mm crochet hook, which makes the stitches of the dress not too tight and not too loose. But if you use a 4.5mm crochet hook it can make the stitches of the dress more loose if you want to make it fit a little bit loosely
@@crochetit ok tysmmm!
can i ask how many increments to add on the first number of chains for a bigger size dog?
For a meduim size dog? Well i would maybe make a ch of 55 or 60. Depending on how big the dogs neck is. :)
@@crochetit thanks for your reply😊
Quel dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de Sous-titrage en français
I don’t get round 3-4 I finished the round 3 but I don’t get round 4. How’d you do round 4? Pls tell me😢
I will try my best. Here are some of the crochet abbreviation.
•dc = double crochet
•ch = chain
•fpdc = front post double crochet
•bpdc = back post double crochet
•*…* = repeat whatever is between the asterisks
•[…] = total number of stitches between the brackets
Rnd 3-4: ch 2 (ch 2 counts as a dc), fpdc 1, * bpdc 1, fpdc 1 * all the way around, sl st 1 into the 2nd ch [50] (2 rounds)
I hope this helps 🤗
I know the abbreviation but you know after round 3, what did you do? Do you repeat fpdc and bpdc after you finish round 3? If so, I did it but when I did it, it was chunky so I’m not sure what you did cause you did your finger around and up. Please tell me.😅
Why did mine come out small
😊
I have the right amount of stitches until round 5 it says 55 but I only have 54 dc
Did you remember to count the ch 2 also as a dc?
@@crochetit ahhh my bad. I did not cause I read a comment somewhere that if you did not indicate that the ch 2 is a dc then it is only used for height something, anyways thank you for the tutorial
I want to make the same dress like yours
Well i know that if you use a thicker yarn size the the dress will come a little bigger out or you can use the same thickness of yarn, but by using a bigger size crochet hook, the stitches will be more loosely and the dress will be more stretchy to fit the dog. Well you will never know until you give it a try. This is just my guess, but you will never know until you give a try :)
@@crochetit Thank you I try too see 🤗
@@crochetit Can you tell me what age have your dog in this video?
She is 4 years old
I don't understand where you are putting the increases at? Can you explain that? Been crocheting 40 years and when increasing I always would increase at the start which would be Ch2, dc in same stitch, is that what you mean?
Well when I say in the tutorial that the ch 2 counts as a dc and you have to make an increase, I just place a dc into the sam place as the ch 2. But if I say the ch 2 doesn’t count as a dc in this part of the pattern it means that the ch 2 is just for the hight of the dc. So when you have to start with an inc you can place 2 dc sts into the same place as the ch 2. Hope this will help :)
@@crochetit Yes I understand now, thank you for explaining.
Hi I have something to do for someone who has exactly the same puppy as yours but I don't have his size, the puppy is up to 3 years old and 7 kg how can I make the size fit him?
Sorry, I currently only know how to make it in a size small (in this tutorial). 🧶😊
how many grams did you used?
I used about 160m of yarn 🧶
I really like it, can you please tell me how to do it for a big dog?
Like for a size medium dog?
@@crochetit no large dog
If I were you I’d just crochet the first chains to fit the dogs neck let’s say that you chain 67, even it out to 70 so in each round that she’s increasing in, you can increase evenly and see how it’s fitting your dog as you go to see if it’s fitting right. I’m no expert I’ve just started crocheting for about two months now but maybe try that and see how it works for you. I’m not sure if you’ve already done the dress since your comment is a bit old.
Do you have a written pattern? Thank you..😊😊😊
Hi sorry no, but maybe in the near future I will make patterns available that you can buy :)
Do you have a written pattern by chance?
No sorry, I only have it in tutorial form🥹
@@crochetit okay, thank you for getting back to me
I don't understand row 19
I think someone may have taken your pattern I found this on Etsy
Oh, do you know the name of the store it is selling on?
Lottieandlulucrochet
Thank you for letting me know☺️
What does inc mean?
Inc means to place 2 stitches into the same place :)
Increase stitch
