All of the Boreal varieties are excellent in my experience. Honeyberries have a sweet tart flavor, similar to other berries. Poor cultivars have a bitter flavor. I think you'll like the Boreal types (Beast, Beauty, Blizzard, etc.)
There are some newer varieties that are even better. Blue Banana, Honey Joy, Honey Beast and Aurora are the best of the early blooming varieties. Of the later varieties; Giants heart, Strawberry Sensation, Kawai, Keiko and Blue Delight are excellent. It can be subjective to your zone and soil conditions too.
How much shade can honeyberries tolerate? I have a shaded corner that gets only dappled sun at most throughout the day. Are there any varieties that are particularly well-suited to shaded spots?
Hello, I would say that is likely too shaded to get healthy growth and fruit production. All of my bushes get at least 4-5 hours of full sun and then partial shade and are thriving. Shade and fruit production are generally non-compatible. However, black raspberry and pawpaw can tolerate shade and still produce a small quantity of fruit.
I have about 40 plants within 30 varieties. 3 of them only get about 2 hours of sun per day and still produce decently. Not as well as the ones that get more sun, but I still get a few pounds per plant from those.
Medicinal. Antioxidants For Neuropathic pain and other things. I pick the ones in our city, in Saskatchewan
Another thing to appreciate about this wonderful fruit. Thanks for sharing. Any links to this info?
bravo
Hello, I would like to ask what the taste of the Boreal Blizzard variety is? I would like to grow a sweet variety. Is this a good choice?

@@PHNursery Thank you, i will try it.
What variety would you recomend?
Hi, The Boreal series seems to be better than most. Also Blue Myst, Keiko and Tana are all quite good.

We offer our grafted pawpaws in late June of every summer. We grafted Susquehanna this season and have some beautiful trees.

@@PHNursery do you know when the email for the waiting list will be sent
no i ordered 2 plants fro gurney's nursery about 10 years ago. the plants are nice never no berries. i tink they sent two the same sex.
They don't produce plants of different sexes, but something else is wrong there. Maybe the same variety? Gurney's nursery sucks, very low quality.
