- A Latin girl came face to face with a racist passport control inspector while traveling. Despite having all the required documents, the prejudiced ""Karen"" denied the girl entry into the United States. When she tried to protest, the inspector claimed that she had to pass a quiz on U.S. history in order to get the stamp she needed. The girl ended up answering every question correctly and the Karen begrudgingly stamped her passport. However, a second and more experienced inspector, found an envelope with a lot of money in the girl's luggage, and led her into a room to be searched. What unexpected twist took place inside that room? And was the girl ever released?

I was held by immigration in Vancouver. They said I was a Hong Kong national trying to sneak into Canada with stolen technology. I told them, I was an American Citizen and my surname was Japanese, not Chinese. They told me that they heard the same old story before. I was there for a scientific conference and told them to search me and examine my slide case and poster case for the conference. They later apologized after 2 hours of checking my facts and said that they were vigilant for Hong Kong immigrants trying to sneak into Canada via the US. This was back in 1988. What was amazing is the I was traveling with two people, one from Mainland China and another American born Chinese and they single me out as suspicious...

This was a well written script as it became clear the customs agent was clearly biased against the immigrant trying to pass through her scrutiny, something I have experienced. But things go from bad to worse and I could not see a resolution to the story. Then the cop they call is Denis Tuchkov and my heart leaped into my throat. He always plays the compassionate authoritarian so well, I knew that things were going to be okay. In this case expectations of the roles of actors works best for directors. You do not have to think about developing characters if a person just knows what that person represents -- a whole back story that just shouts at the viewer COMPASSIONATE AUTHORITARIAN! Olena Kurta played a very effective customs, TSA agent. She was prejudiced and so sure of herself. When arrested, she played the role as that is what she expected to happen all because of a damn immigrant and when she uttered her threat, I would be afraid... very afraid. Thank you for a very well written, well cast and well acted and directed episode. The production was all up to DramatizeMe in sound, video and set design. I give this 5 Ws out of 5 for a well done episode. Well Done!
You know, they did not secure or remove her gun. It was a cross draw and she could easily draw and use her weapon when she sees her chance. If this was a action thriller, she would pull her weapon and take out all three officers and for good measure the reporter witness. I told you that lady is lethal.

Both Karen and John were fired from their jobs and sentenced to prison for 10 years. In order to make sure that Karen couldn’t keep her revenge promise, Regina filed a restraining order against her.
They're too busy looking for other work because now they are felons and homeless
They would get more than 10 years. Malfeasance by a public official, especially under the color of law, in uniform is a huge offense, not to mention Grand Theft, False Arrest, False Swearing if a report was officially made and signed, Hate Crime Enhancement, try 30-40 years. Karen will be an old lady when she gets out.

Profiling the girl due to ethnicity was bad enough, the racist Karen on duty at passport control was out of hand. Denying access was going to reach her bosses' ears but to accuse her of stealing was the last mistake Karen made!!! The officers should have listened to both sides of the problem, it was unprofessional of them!!! Wait for it, Justice will prevail for this girl and others like her, the wicked Karen and her colleagues will be fired!!!

OK so the customs officers having the markings on their hands only proves they touched the money, not that they stole it. This story needed to be fleshed out a bit better.
But there's fact that one officer turned off the cameras. Not to mention the discrimination shown beforehand...
These are impossible things that can happen in the US airport. I didn't mean the denial part - I mean what happened after that. That's what i heard. They deny entry and you simply go back.

My wife was harassed by immigration once....in India, from an Indian immigration officer... outbound back to USA.
My wife is an immigrant to USA from Vietnam. She has her married surname in her USA passport...Iyer. I am of Indian background, born in USA.
The Indian officer was harassing her because he did not believe my wife had an Indian name. He thought the USA passport was a fraud.
I was tied up in a separate queue because of something. I cleared and walked over to where my wife was.
I politely reached out my hand and introduced myself. I said the following:
"Hi! I am Rahul Iyer. Thaiduong is my wife. How can I help you?".
The officers' faces went pale. They knew I was an OCI and just cleared immigration. I had the stamps in my passport.
After stumbling a bit, the Indian officers called their supervisor. My wife was cleared in short order. I filed a complaint against them (harassment).
We boarded our jet to USA with no other issues.

If this was real life, those 2 security guards will have their FOID card revoked. The female guard threatened the journalists. And we hope the top authority of the Airport will begin screening all of their staff. Of the 1000s of airport employees, 1 of them could have a dark past.
