We tend to take Penguin and what he's doing day after day for granted, often only focusing on what kind of fries, burgers or noodle soup he's gobbling down this time, and then there are days that leave us in awe at this man's accomplishments. Thank you, and bon appétit!

Containers are designed for ease of transport. That is why you will see them loaded onto rail cars stacked two high, and for final delivery they load them onto trucks to haul to their destination.

I wish my mom would’ve lived just a few more years to see this.
She absolutely hated this bridge and of course she hates the tunnels too.
All of her fears validated :-) hundreds, and hundreds of trips over that bridge and us harassing her the whole time how irrational and ridiculous she was and given her a hard time and laughing.
    See, I told you !
She always had a weird intuition about certain things,

When I see pieces of road draped across the bow of the Dali, and lights I saw at night on the road , now in the water , it makes me shutter to remember how many hundreds of times I drove on that road under those lights. Catastrophic doesn’t begin to describe the mess here and the wonderful job many people are doing to clean it up and rebuild this essential bridge.

      From 11AbC...TV
      Qoute:
BALTIMORE -- The cargo ship that caused the Baltimore bridge collapse was carrying hazardous materials, the National Transportation Safety Board said.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said there are 56 containers aboard containing hazardous materials, including corrosives, flammables and lithium ion batteries. She said some containers were breached and a sheen was identified in the water that will be dealt with by authorities. She said the voyage data recorder has been recovered.
      _________
And just about anything that can be fit into a container is probably onboard. Stored back of the ships now.

Great photos, P6! Down in the Virginia waters of the Chesapeake Bay the watermen (the ones who have money) use those motorized barges like the one you were on to set off and pick up their crab pots. Each one can carry hundreds of crab pots! A lot of private owners (like myself) quit setting out our pots because the field of watermen pots were blocking most of the crabs from getting into the inlets. One reason I moved away. Rob in N.C.
