It's a beautiful bike. I've seen this model bike in person, the geometry does indeed look extremely aggressive and racy. I've spoken with domestic pros here in the US who race this frame, they said it's not a particularly light or stiff frame but the quality is very high and it handles well. The one issue I have: at this it's competing with some of the finest frames in the world and there are many cheaper options that are very, very good. To me, it's a little hard to justify the Look from a purely economic perspective. It's such a cool frame though...
Hi, I appreciate your comment. Would you mind listing out just a few cheaper frames that you think would compete with this new Look 795 Blade, please? 🙏
Mapdec cycle works. You should look at his review of these frames. It’s easy to justify to a regular consumer a frame that is of superior engineering quality simply because you have less chance of things going wrong. Thus less cash to dish out or time with your bike stuck in the shop. More people should go for this bike but it’s just not marketed as well as other brands.
Bike looks nice, the components are individually very very nice. 7.8kg is not good not bad. For comparison: For a friend I assemble a 785 Huez RS with 45mm Lightbicycle wheels (Carbon-Ti hubs), 6.9kg total. But it's not aero like yours. Year ago I passed my Colnago Concept to a friend, 7.5kg total but rim brakes. My Time ADH'01 Disc has 5.8kg, but that's weight-optimized (not quite WW). Hi, The next time that you wax your chains, add some parifn oil to the wax. Add just enough parifin oil so that the wax does not flake off from the chain as much. Roughly about 1-to-5 oil-to-wax ratio.

Congrats with the bike. It's a beatiful frame :) I may be a little biased, because I also have one in order ;) It's odd and confusing, that there is 2 measurements on the stem. The correct measurement is normally taken from center of the steerer tube to center of the handlebar. I have ordered a frame size M, with a 110 mm stem. (but maybe it's 120 mm?) I will have to contact Look or the seller, to get the correct measurement. - Enjoy the bike!
It’s a great setup. The bike frame looks similar to the previous model of Canyon Aeroad. However, it’s true that the rider makes a huge difference in terms of speed and power. The bike just a marginal gain. Anyway, you still need more mileage to get used to this new bike. Happy riding!
Congrats on the bike! Looks awesome and if I was in the market for a new frame I’d go for the 795 as well. A tip on prepping chains if you want to make things easier next time - all you need is ufo drivetrain cleaner to strip the factory grease and have it ready to wax. Zerofrictioncycling has shown it to be as good and easier. Happy riding!

@@OompaLoompaCycling my only concern would be the use of headset spacers and how low to cut the steerer tube. but it certainly would be for endurance rides anyway
hard to say - venge vs look (i put both frames into an aggressive position, so more or less the same). Scultura was in a 'stock' position, so would say Scultura haha...
Maybe bigger frame and shorter neck part, but I like a bigger frame cause I’m a bigger guy. ❤ congrats on the beautiful bike. Are you gonna be on Chris Millers podcast?
The cleats that come with the LOOK pedals by default do NOT have grips. You'll need to change to the GREY LOOK KEO GRIP pedals for the grip and better stability. Stunning bike overall!!!
So it is by design that you buy the pedal, then you have to fork out money to buy separate cleat again? well done LOOK. I was forced to switch to look because i changed to favero assioma and the first time i use it i most fell down. Hate the cleat so much compare to shimano.
@@moonman110 The standard Look cleats don't slip on tarmac. Walking on floor tiles which people often install in hallways in their houses is another story though. Then blokes happily splash 15k on a bike, 10k on a couple different wheel sets, $300 on a pair of bib shorts, but cry a river about $15 for a pair of cleats 🤦♂.
It actually not as aggressive as I thought it would be from a geometry standpoint, as a reference, giant propel size S has 535 top tube, 383 reach and same 529 stack. 1 question, is the Mondrian color is an actual painting or a decal with clear coat on it?
@@OompaLoompaCycling Yea, because from the official introduce video, that was a decal and clear coat on it. Was wondering if the actual production line might do the different. Nonetheless, great bike.
100 km is just not enough for understanding the new bike & getting up to speed. A month of riding long distance twice a week will reveal pain spots & discomfort areas & you will have to make further bikes adjustments. Oh yes the Venge…I’ll attest to that. My rim brakes Venge is still the fastest bike till today among my newer disc ones even after 9 years now .🎉
Enjoyed the video. For that money, I would have gone the SL8 S-Works frameset route. You would have ended up with a lighter and probably faster bike. Would have also changed the wheels to something lighter like the Elite drives or Carbon Spoke Road Disc CD Series from 9 Vello. A cheaper option would have been to go the none S-Works route (pro) but get the new handlebar/stem one piece. Even with the purchase of new lighter wheels (mentioned before), you still would have have moneys left back Anyway for what its worth, what you have there does look better than the SL8. Who knows, the look of the bike may enable you using distraction, to drop some riders
Look claim their race-ready 795 team Cofidis are riding is 7kg in size M, which does sound to me somewhat optimistic. However, what I don't understand is why they make the seat post into an "aero" shape. A slim one would make the frame set 100g lighter making the bike more comfortable to ride, whilst not taking anything away from the aerodynamics of the frame, to which we know only the very front contributes anything, if at all.
@@OompaLoompaCycling No worries, most people shop with their eyes, me too :). It wouldn't look aesthetically consistent with the rest of the frame, but it would be more functional, especially on rougher tarmac. By the way, I have the same saddle on my Time ADH01 - it is actually reasonably lightweight and provides decent cushioning and didn't cost much, so I will keep mine.
Disappointed to hear the weight after seeing the claims that look is making. I have the 2020 version and my only complaint is the weight. I have been eager to see reviews of this version. (Very different bike). Thanks for this video.
It’s a combination of factors leading to the weight, I’ve got a relatively heavy wheelset, saddle is not the lightest in the market, spider power meters are heavier than pedal based ones, groupset not the highest end
the drop doesnt look massive i think the reach may make it feel overly aggressive. with a shorter stem and shorter bars you could feel more comfortable and still get in the best aero position on a road bike with bent arms.

Haha I think many people don’t know how experienced, fit and flexible you are. Your body weight plus bike weight I think is lower than some commenters here and their bike by 20kg already.
thanks for the compliment but I am really not as experienced, fit and flexible as other riders out there >.
Le combo est mal monté normalement avec l’autre cache, on ne voit pas la vis centrale sur le combo. j’ai le même mais en plus léger avec des roues Corima mcc
Hello, what is the total weight of this beautiful Look 795 Blade RS? It is confortable to long ride over 100km? Thanks in advance and congratulations for your bike 😉
Close to 8KG’s on this current setup. Yes no issues long rides.
Almost 8kg… I know that it’s not the most important but îm a little beat desapionted by this result. But it’s so beautiful and iconic!
Thank you for your feed back! Ride safe 👍
how tall are you?
173cm
@@OompaLoompaCyclingsame as me. I think I'll look at getting a size xs.
think it'll be too small. try using geometry geeks' website to make a comparison against your current bike's geometry@@timtaylor9590
@@OompaLoompaCycling my only concern would be the use of headset spacers and how low to cut the steerer tube. but it certainly would be for endurance rides anyway
@@timtaylor9590 XS could have an even greater drop (between saddle and handlebars), making it less comfortable.
Beautiful bike 😍. Which is more comfortable, Venge; Scultura or Look?
hard to say - venge vs look (i put both frames into an aggressive position, so more or less the same). Scultura was in a 'stock' position, so would say Scultura haha...
@@OompaLoompaCycling Thanks 😊. Happy New year 🎉. Enjoy 😉 your new bike... Hope to ride will you again.
Best frameset you can buy right now
Hello, very nice bike, what is your height and inseam?
Hi 173cm and 80cm
@@OompaLoompaCycling thanks, exactly same as mine😃
Very nice setup. What's the total cost and who's the builder.
Built with KH since I’ve ordered the frame with them
@@OompaLoompaCycling Oh I see. Now I remember seeing look at KH. I got my Scott Spark RC form KH as well.
7.8kg for aero bike consider good enuf for flat. Try same route few times c how many PR to break .
Maybe bigger frame and shorter neck part, but I like a bigger frame cause I’m a bigger guy. ❤ congrats on the beautiful bike. Are you gonna be on Chris Millers podcast?
Hahaha too small of a channel and probably not worthy to be on his podcast 😅
The cleats that come with the LOOK pedals by default do NOT have grips. You'll need to change to the GREY LOOK KEO GRIP pedals for the grip and better stability. Stunning bike overall!!!
I prefer 0 float. Was thinking of changing to the black ones
So it is by design that you buy the pedal, then you have to fork out money to buy separate cleat again? well done LOOK. I was forced to switch to look because i changed to favero assioma and the first time i use it i most fell down. Hate the cleat so much compare to shimano.
@@Saltydog547 Cheeky buggers yes they are. Purposely giving you crap cleats just to upgrade to the grippier ones so you don't ice skate on tarmac...
@@OompaLoompaCycling You know what they say... once you go black, you can't go back
@@moonman110 The standard Look cleats don't slip on tarmac.
I had the same question about the “pain job” doesn’t feel like it’s painted. Feels more like a decal with clear coat (I COULD BE WRONG)
My rim brakes Venge is still the fastest bike till today among my newer disc ones even after 9 years now .🎉
漂亮的車! Bro don’t think too much just ride only!
The bike is EXPENSIVE, I'm sure 😎
beautiful machine but the butyl tubes trigger me :D
Nice
Siccc bike🎉
Not another SL8! Good thing you got this. It stands out and not so boring and common 😊.
i think if they made the seatpost round i would shy away from buying it... it would've ruined the design
What is the cost of this full build?
14k maybe
Top tube is not very long. The fact that its horizontal and not sloping makes it look longer. The geo is not to agressive.
Unfortunately integrated cockpit cost a lot just to change stem length, this is the direction bike industry is going into.
im also quite interest in look 795RS but i prefer white.. it looks like rubik cube
Mondrian, for people of culture. ;-)
lool we all have this bottle cages......😂
Doesn’t hold my bottles very tightly but good enough
And it folds itself into a Rubik’s cube for transportation, right? Or, have I been misinformed?
Yes it does but you’ll need a 2.5mm hex key
very nice.
You should have tried my previous generation of the LOOK 795 Blade before jumping on this 😂 hearsay the new frame is abit more compliant and doesn’t feel as “stiff” as the previous generation.
The older gen is heavy af
@@OompaLoompaCyclingafter built up, if I remember it was also about 7.8kg. Rim brake also tho
@@smackeble rim brake should be lighter then 🤣
If I listen to you, you do not sound so excited...more disapointed also talking about the details... and of course wheels go for hyper D45 price performance and ride feel is a very good compromise...
😍😍
Bro you have been in this hobby long enough to know its not about the bike for mere mortal like us. Riding more with better fitness will always be paramount. Sadly not many will have the privileges to do so as we still need to put food on the table unless you are pro cyclist.
You don't sound all that thrilled. More like you regret you're purchas. I have a feeling it will be replaced sooner than later.. Hope you find the right bike, not the best bike, just you're bike.
No regrets! Just gotta ride on it longer
Is not the Venge abit faster or more aero. Is your leg become weaker cos never cycle regularly. 🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
😭😭😭😭
