@@The_king567 I'm not a marvel fanboy or anything, and I haven't bothered to watch the new Spiderman movies, but this is honestly one of the first times I've heard anyone say Tom can't act. Literally everyone I've talked to said some of the only redeeming factors of those movies was that Tom did well enough. Can't think of the name of the movie but he did a drama for Netflix with Vampire boy from Twilight and they both performed admirably. I'd say if anything maybe he isn't a good fit for this character.

I was skeptical at first but the trailer looked good. Since it seems this is supposed to be when Nate and Sully first met, I think I can wrap my head around the idea of them being younger versions of those guys. My 9yo can’t picture Tom Holland as anybody other than Spider-Man though, lol
They already gave them a backstory of when they first met in uncharted 3 though and it’s nothing like this

I haven't played the games in a long time, so can't quite remember if Nate and Sullys actual first adventure is ever really shown or mentioned. Cause if I remember right, all the game adventures happen after Nate is an adult
It seems like y’all haven’t played the game at all.
The movie is not going to follow the games exactly as they happened, it's doing it's own version like a reboot. There's nothing wrong with deviating from the source material.
Odd casting but hoping for the best, both incredible actors
I think Hollywood is just taking advantage of Tom Holland's popularity now. Mark Wahlberg was originally supposed to be cast as Nathan when this film first went into development in 2010, but they changed their plans and went with someone younger in Tom Holland.

Wahlburg’s younger Sullivan changes the whole Drake/Sullivan dynamic from that of the games. Instead of being a father figure, Sullivan now seems more like a brother, and with the 2 leads looking similar, it detracts from Drake as the main character. At very least, Wahlburg’s hair should’ve been totally greyed, as in the games, to make him seem older and differentiate him more from Drake

@@Drkfire_Yt Know what you’re saying, however in the game where Sully was younger, Drake was maybe mid-teens. In the film Drake’s a lot older, looks late 20s, 30. Moreover, doesn’t negate the fact both Drake and Sullivan in movie look too similar, and not all that different age-wise, with Wahlburg looking more like an older brother, not a father figure of more advanced years compared to Drake

@@Drkfire_Yt I think young Drake in Uncharted 3 was 14. His voice sounded barely broken. Tom Holland is around 27, 28 and he kind of looks it. He only seems younger because he’s lean and wiry, so appears boyish, but he does look a lot younger for his age in Spider-Man than in Uncharted trailer - even accounting for fact last Spider-Man was filmed around 2 or 3 years ago
The casting choices are definitely odd, but I still can't wait for the movie to come out. The games were amazing and I hope the movie can live up to it.

Since we're getting Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on the PS5, who else thinks we should get a PS5 version of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection but this with a remaster of Uncharted: Golden Abyss as well?

Unfortunately they can't just go by looks. I can't think of many other actors right now that could play a better young Nathan Drake. As far as Sully though, they could probably find someone better than Mark

From a regular person out of nowhere , got an opportunity to be spiderman and now he got to work with an A-list actor. Hes getting there day by day.
He is an A list actor at this point. Been in multiple of the highest grossing films of all time. He’s going to be cast in a lot of major roles for years or decades to come.
The casting seems strange, at first, but when you think about the fact that they also have to capture the dynamic and energy of nate and sully, as well as the aesthetic, the choice seems more reasonable. They could have found two actors who resemble them better, but would they be as good of actors? Would they have the same blockbuster experience and names? And would they have the knowledge and experience to capture these two characters? And did they nail the auditions too? I think they’re gonna do a great job for what this casting represents, and if they have a good script and setting for the movie, they’ll do good with it.
All we can really do is just wait and see if the film is good or not but either way I’m not gonna let the casting get in the way of the movie
@@bbpoopdeck6631 Yeah. It shouldn’t unless the acting feels forced. If the rest of the movie holds up it won’t be a huge deal. My main concern is that the script is gonna suck, but as long as it’s good the actors should have good material to work with and the casting will shine

Honestly, I'm kinda sold. Adapting the games directly would have been pointless considering how cinematic they already are. The movie is clearly using aspects of the games, but doing its own thing with it, which I prefer.

Nathan Drake is like 35 years old, and his well loved Advisor Sully is like, an old amazing man.
On the contrary, the games began when he was about 30. This prequel movie series has him in his 20's so it checks out. Still, he's not my first pick as Nate. If only we had Nathan Fillion for this 20+ years ago...

It’s a young Nathan drake not the Middle Aged one from the games its fine casting should just be happy that we got a good actor to play him at all most films based on games don’t even a have the luxury of cast as well experienced and as talented as the one for this film

Unlike prince of Persia and AC, Nate and Sully have well written stories that the writers of this movie can draw from. The games themselves are almost like watching a movie. That’s why I believe this movie will be a good adaptation of the games.

I know nothing of the game. But I'm excited to see members of two of my favourite families together on screen.
It's basically a male Tomb Raider. Fun games. The first one gets a bit repetitive, but the other games ramp up the andreline and get you pumped.

What I wanna know is how is it before the games but they are using the airplane scene from the third game?
@@DaiLLSpoken I think the airplane scene is supposed to be a nod to the game and those who played it, but I can't imagine it connects to the story from the game at all. Especially since it's supposed to be an origin story. Just added in for the viewers who played the games.

These are younger versions and I think that sully will end up with a mustache, I remember seeing something about him being spotted with one a while back so it seems fine to me.

I'm thinking of the film series as a reboot for the franchise instead of movies based specifically on any of the 4 games. Its just based on the IP to me, which makes it so much better for me. Would always be disappointed in films based on specific games.
