I was outside when all this came out and If you like Jeezy you probably was getting money by the time Gucci dropped So Icey. Gucci was new and the hood loved him but them songs was being played exclusively on the East side at one point. Everyone wasn't going there or playing it but it resonated heavy. Jeezy was played everywhere people was throwing money and buying bottles on a mainstream night life type thing. I think the people who was on Gucci early was a little younger and getting money but really still in the trap, still in the hood, still having jewelry and just still raw. People listening to Jeezy was feeling like they were stamped in the trap now they trying to live big they was trapping when Goodie mob/Lil Jon era was out. They trap now was a nice apartment/condo and not the projects. If you listened to Jeezy you was trying to be in Buckhead and in the expensive stores in the mall, in condos living lavish, riding foreigns and all that. It was just a different vibe. Gucci was also in and out of jail so his visibility was based on negative situations at one point. It didn't really step up step up until Lemonade dropped. That was the start of the new Gucci sound. I was outside when all this came out and If you like Jeezy you probably was getting money by the time Gucci dropped So Icey. Gucci was new and the hood loved him but them songs was being played exclusively on the East side at one point. Everyone wasn't going there or playing it but it resonated heavy. Jeezy was played everywhere people was throwing money and buying bottles on a mainstream night life type thing. I think the people who was on Gucci early was a little younger and getting money but really still in the trap, still in the hood, still having jewelry and just still raw. People listening to Jeezy was feeling like they were stamped in the trap now they trying to live big they was trapping when Goodie mob/Lil Jon era was out. They trap now was a nice apartment/condo and not the projects. If you listened to Jeezy you was trying to be in Buckhead and in the expensive stores in the mall, in condos living lavish, riding foreigns and all that. It was just a different vibe. Gucci was also in and out of jail so his visibility was based on negative situations at one point. It didn't really step up step up until Lemonade dropped. That was the start of the new Gucci sound. Definite classic.
