Durham is magnificent, it’s connected to Lindisfarne, with St Cuthbert. You should make your way up to Lindisfarne, you can park in main car park( you can’t overnight on the island, but you can pull into the pull in place before you cross the tide, you can overnight there!)
Love Durham, we visited earlier this year. We are member of CAMC and found that Durham Amateur Rowing Club have a CL site which is just a short walk along the river from the city centre. I cant remember the cost but I do remember at the time thinking what good value it was. As a CL site it of course had water and CDP, but there was also a small cafe attached to the club so added to the ambience. We travel full time with our two labradors so stealth mode isn’t an option for us. I just don’t understand places that are not dog friendly, they must miss out on so much trade. Laughed when Chico forgot he was in stealth mode 😂

Loving catching up on adventures .. can see we nearly lost mark down a drain , was worried when approaching dury lane Ginnel … definitely have to keep Paul away from there . Enjoyed my trip around Durham, it seemed quite clean and tidy 👍. You will have to get mark a cordless angle grinder for Christmas for the thicker padlock, but that one if need be could have been opened using 2 screwdriver's 👍👍😁

Another brilliant vlog…totally gutted that you were at Belmont park and ride and we didn’t know…we would have loved to meet you. My husband…also Mark…would even have brought you a takeaway from our local Chinese….£6.30 for chicken fried rice…but our treat if ever you pass again…we live just off the junction below the one you were near (Coxhoe). Durham is a beautiful city and fantastic cathedral….we were lucky enough to have a couple of our grandchildren christened there ! Mark , there is an all you can eat Chinese buffet down by the river. So when you were stood with your back to the castle and cathedral on the bridge . It on your right at river level.
Q&A Hi Mark and Lisa - Where do you empty your grey and black waste if not going on site, as there are not a lot of places to do this in the uk? Also only see two videos a week of you going into towns etc what do you do the rest of the week? xx
Another cracking video guys. regarding nasty comments about chico stealth mode....fluff em! ( cleaned that up for the chube) Glad you didnt get locked in. Its my nightmare about being locked in . I made arrangements to meet with a mate for a night out in a place called Pheasents lake which was a fishery and cafe in the back of beyond- one of them park and buy a meal etc. I was waiting for my mate to get there and a bloke came and told me they were closing early but he'd be locking the gates til the morning. I really didnt want to stay there isolated and locked in on my own so I left and never got to meet my mate. Its good if you can get out but what if summat happens in the night and no way to get out? Any hoo, glad you guys were not locked in and it was a great rekke round Durham and I learned a bit about mustard history. Never a dull video on NOT thats for sure. I know. Don't get why dogs can't go some places. They are part of the family. We now live in Mallorca and doggies allowed into shops and cafes. X

Seems a good idea but they could easily have been around to tell you the gate was locked. That padlock won't stop travellers!

For some reason I think I applied for Durham uni when I was 18, for computer science. Ended up in Hull instead. Quite a long time ago now!
