We are a couple in our 70's and just had our 54th anniversary. You remind us of us a few (a bunch of) decades ago. Love your videos and your skill at filming and editing is way above the norm for TH-cam. Love your positive attitude and ability to look at the bright side of funky situations. You deserve a million subscribers and have no doubt you will get there. Many thanks for your channel.
So enjoyed this video! Not heard of this hike until now. Great story telling, videography and honesty. I LOVE it. You all take such time into the quality of your videos. Well done!! CaliCameraguy for CaliKim.
My mom is buried just below that mountain range. Each spring I’ve been going to clean her grave, I stand and gaze at the magnificent wind river mountains and wonder what it looks like and now I know. Thank you it so beautiful just like I imaged. I love hanging out around sinks canyon.
Oh my, what beauty you have put before my eyes. My husband and I are in our 60's and not in shape to go where you guys hike. We can tackle two or three miles and that is all my body can take. I want to thank you for capturing the beauty of this country that I will never be able to hike. I love your videos, you are an inspiration to so many. I could go on and on but let me say, you remind me of my sweet granddaughter and wonderful grandson. Keep up the good work kids, you are a blessing to so many.
My wife and I went to the Grand Tetons two weeks ago. Wyoming is unbelievable! Thanks for showing some of the hidden gems.( YOU TWO ARE SO TOUGH.) You guys are so good at what you do. In my opinion you are best U Tubers out there. Can't wait for the next one.
Great video. Headed to Cirque of the towers to do the exact same hike the end of August. Going to take 4 days instead of three just to soak in the sights. Can’t wait.
Oh my! I forgot to say thank you for recommending Wild Zora wayyy back! My sister in-law has a ton of health issues/allergies so what she can eat while traveling is difficult. I recommended Wild Zora to her, so she tried a few of their products and is in LOVE with them!! Thank you so much!!!
This makes us SO HAPPY to hear! We love their meals! They really saved us back when I was on a super restrictive diet due to health issues and couldn't eat hardly anything.
I usually shy away from couples backpacking videos but you guys are awesome! Looks like an amazing trip! And respect for not having your dog carry anything.
Y'all are seriously so inspiring. We love to hike but there are a lot of trails we can't hike with the kiddos. I am already compiling a list of hikes we must do on our next grownups only trip! You two have a knack for finding the best places! -Ang
Awesome! We have an accompanying blog post that might be helpful as well! adventuresofaplusk.com/how-to-backpack-to-the-cirque-of-the-towers-in-wyomings-wind-river-range/ Thanks and thanks for watching!
Years ago, my buddy and I spent a week in the Wind River Range and the Cirque of the Towers was amazing. (It even snowed on us in July). We didn't see a single person the whole week and this was one of my best backpacking trips ever. Your trip brought back a lot of memories and so happy you were able to experience such wonder.
Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Utah are all so pretty! My oldest son and I went to Yellowstone/Grand Teton, Zion and Petrified Forest last year. Doing it again at the first of September but staying longer in the Yellowstone area than we did last year. I’ve been subscribed to you for a little over a year now. You two are such a pleasure to watch and the scenery in all your videos are nothing short of amazing!! I always enjoy seeing your new videos. Thank you both for bringing all this to us via TH-cam! Where’s your next stop? Are you hitting the Teton/Yellowstone area?? God bless and be careful on your awesome backpacking trips!!
We hope y’all have an amazing trip back! And we didn’t do the parks up there this time (we filmed them back in August 2019), but did drive through Yellowstone on the way elsewhere which was fun!
KONA!!! Full transparency, sometimes when I want to check in with your channel but I don't have a lot of time, I fast forward watching only the parts with little Kona. Her enjoyment is so pure and unencumbered making it very easy to pick up the essence of the location. I've heard you mention her behavior problems, and I can imagine what that might look like. But from my perspective that's part of her passion for life from doggie-eye-level. What a gift you all give each other to live the adventure together. Especially love the scenes where she is squirming all over the ground. And during this vid when she was hopping over/traversing all the logs. I always watch those scenes at least twice. In fact, I just went through a long Google verification process just to login to add this comment -- hadn't logged into gmail for years so they went full Gestapo to verify me... ugh. Anyway, that's how much I wanted to express appreciation for you guys sharing your adventures with Kona. Watching her little paintbrush tail wagging makes me smile inside and out. It takes a special kind of human to share life with animals the way you do. Thank you.
"The hills are alive, with the sound of music" : ) That's what I was singing while you were hiking. What a beautiful trip you both had!! Amazing! Were the mosquitoes bad the whole trip? Didn't look bad the second day when you were eating. That burger looked SO good, I think we may have to go get a burger for dinner tonight!
They were pesky the entire time, but I think the second day we just decided to suck it up and deal with them haha. We hope you can get some delicious burgers!
The shot of the rainbow was incredible!!! Kona did a fabulous job and you two Rock! Wow! Incredible hike! Love the bloops too and oh let’s not forget that mouthwatering burgers!!! ~Cara 😊
Wow, Wow and Wow! That was so amazing! Thanks for doing that hike and sharing the scenery with us. The jagged peaks were gorgeous and the rainbow was so special!!
Did Big Sandy to Green River lakes in 2012, it was jaw dropping scenery every day!! This brought back so many good memories and rekindled a desire to visit there again. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
I have watched quite a few of your vids but probably not even half. To this point, this is my favorite. Wonderful video, narration, and setting the mood. One thing I have learned to appreciate is the upbeat feeling you two always project even when your whipped by the challenges. Your music choice and video is simply uplifting. In our world today, it is much needed. I have to admit, I love you guys but sorry, I love Kona more. Hate to break it to you, but she is the star! What a faithful and never tiring doggie! Love her. To finish, as an 80-year-old barnacle, I cannot do what you do any longer even though I am in pretty decent shape. You keep me going and watching. Keep on keeping on.
That is a very kind comment! That means a lot to us. Thank you and thanks for watching! No offense taken about Kona 😂 she is definitely the star! We're so lucky to have her!
This video was so great and helpful for planning. I just finished this hike and came back to comment. I also had a hard time getting out of the Shadow Lake maze 😁 Thanks again!
Oh my gosh, you two are amazing! I’ve done a fair amount of backpacking over the years and I’ve got to say portions of this trail looked tough to say the least. This episode was awesome! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing you adventures with us.
It was pretty dang tough at times! Would've been hard without packs, but the packs made it a lot harder. SO worth it though for those views, it was incredible!
What an amazing trip. I’m so glad I came upon you guys and your adventures. Really enjoyable and inspiring. Finished several of your CO videos... inspired me to plan a road trip (w/ RPod) for early Fall! Keep on keeping on.
You guys are animals! 🤣 LOVED watching this one…the double rainbow was so beautiful! The whole hike was gorgeous! I always have a smile on my face when I watch your videos…thank you for giving me that reaction❣️ Kona is a badass doggie…so cute and full of energy and SO HAPPY to be with her mommy and daddy! Maui could never do even three of those miles! Great job as always! 😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
Just fabulous trip. I went into the Winds in the 70's in the winter to deliver a cache of food to three guys doing the crest of th range, We never had such toys!
Well this was a production and a half! What an amazing backpacking trip this must have been! Kudos to you guys and Kona…that took a lot of work not only the hike itself it but prepping for it as well! I’ve done a few major hikes and it’s important to be well prepared. I’m curious what kind of food you took along for Kona. Adam you rocked the editing job and you both did an amazing job capturing it all! I had so much fun watching this…the epic views had me 🤯😯🤩 the entire time! Oh and the burgers…oh how I want those burgers!!!!
We had been planning this for months! Lots of prep, reading about the trail, making a packing list, etc. So happy you enjoyed the views!!! 😍 And for Kona, she normally eats a fancy food, but we packed regular dry dog food in ziploc bags (always in the bear canister) for this trip since it was easier.
I came across this video as I look for inspiration for my own WRR backpacking trip. You all did a great job filming, narrating, and editing your trip to share with us all! I hope to add fly fishing whenever I make it to this part of the country.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!! More of this!!! Loved the views, the walkalong showing where you were on the map, the food you were eating, the conditions, describing the hard parts, this was one of the best backpacking videos I've ever seen! We're taking this trip this summer and this was sooo helpful!!!
Thank you so much Robert! We are so glad you enjoyed it. 🙌🏼 It was hands down our favorite hike of 2021 and we’re pumped to hear you’re headed there this next summer! More backpacking to come in 2022 😄
@@AdventuresofAplusK You have to try Titcomb Basin in Wind Rivers - - we've done Island Lake several times and it's awesome. Would love to see your take on the trip.
Backpackers Pantry Pad Thai is seriously next level definitely one of the best on the market I've tried. What a great adventure. This is a bucket list hike for me as well.
This is amazing. I just finished a NOLS course in the Winds and stayed at Dads lake as well as the Cirque. I also passed by many of the sites and locations shown in this video.
Epic! I will keep my comments brief for once. Spectacular scenery and just such a great edit and production. Truly an excellent job. I know of the Wind River Range but really in name only. I think this climbed up the list quite a few slots.
The trail you started on the "big sandy lake trail and the trail ( the east forrk trail)that leads to dad's lake mirror lake and points beyond (marms lake) are two different trails that start in two different places one starts at the campground trailhead and the other starts at Big Sandy Lodge and cannot be crossed from one to the other. I grew up on these same trails from the age of 6-7 when my dad took me on my first backpacking trip to mirror lake about 1-2 miles before dad's lake. You need to tell people that there are 2 different trails to prevent people becoming accidentally lost.
Hey Kevin, This is the route we took: www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/wyoming/cirque-of-the-towers-to-fremont-trail-loop?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map We started and ended at the same spot (parking lot at the end of the Big Sandy Opening Road, according to the map) then drove to Big Sandy Lodge for burgers 😋
You’re creating some amazing memories that will live with you both forever 👍 The many hours of hiking certainly provided some stunning scenery & views, and as always, another top quality VLOG 👏
So glad I found y'alls channel while searching for info on Glacier NP last night. Today is another day of me resting my hairline fractured hip so I have been binging a lot of your adventures today. This is one I am putting down as a must-do! Thanks for sharing your time, adventures, and resources with us. Stay safe out there and adventure on!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Nope not too fun but could have been worse. Just found out I'm your neighbor to the west/northwest outside of Burnet. Y'all will enjoy Alaska. I want to spend more time there one of these days as well. Have fun on your adventures! -Steph
Hats off to our troopers! You two are amazing! And thank you on behalf of the bears for doing everything to protect them. Adam got the most beautiful muscles from all the strenuous hiking! Keep up the good work. Maybe a little break too?
Thank you Lin! We appreciate the kind words (you just made Adam's day!). And we ended up skipping a hike and a video we planned to make so we could rest a bit after this...it kicked our butts!
Hello Adventurers😊😊, WOW!! That was an AMAZING backpacking journey through the Wind River Range. I have never gone on a backpacking trip so this was an amazing video...dont know if I would ever do that but...i love day hikes😊😊😊. Those burgers are HUGE!!! I was smiling watching you two trying to get your mouth around those burgers...and they look so DAMN GOOD...your DEFINITELY making me so hungry. This was such an AWESOME video and the scenery on that trip was ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR...and I can't wait to see what's next👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!
Uuuh, that was a hell of a backpacking trip. Thx for sharing. I totally agree with you on the Pad Thai. It's soo good (But not comparable with these gorgeous burgers !!! ) That was by chance my first backpacking meal ever and it really sets the limits high for all meals coming after that. Safe travels
That was an awesome video! You two did a really fantastic job at describing and explaining about your backpacking experiences. And all though it had to have been exhausting at times you made it very informative and entertaining for us. My wife and I loved it. Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us. Don't think we'll be doing anything as adventurous, but we truly enjoyed watching you two and that sweet pup exploring the great outdoors!
First time watching your channel. Really enjoyed your footage, editing, and onscreen personalities. I've been to The Wind's and the Cirque numerous times, and have climbed Pingora Tower and got stormed off of Wolf's Head behind it, about 18 years ago. I'll be heading back again soon :) Thanks for a really nice video and best wishes!
Another scenic adventure. My next campout I'm going to have to try out the Backpackers Pantry or Wild Dora meals. I'm at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area for the weekend. Similar to Red River Gorge. Do you think y'all will try Great Smoky Mountain NP again? Each time I go it's crazy busy. It's been nice to get outdoors and enjoy some nature and solitude. What footwear does Adam recommend for light to moderate hikes? My go to are work boots as I really don't like hiking boots. I used to use trail running shoes, when I was much younger. Just curious. As always, thanks for all of your efforts.
Have a blast! And we definitely want to go back to GSMNP, but may sacrifice the best weather for less people when we do. And Adam wears Altra trail runners, we have them linked in the description. He loves them because they are super light weight, but made for trails.
I love Cirque of the Towers. You picked a great spot to camp on your second night. That's where all the climbers camp. We were there a few years ago to climb Pingora Peak and Wolf's Head. Hiking out we went around to Shadow Lake to complete the full loop hike in the opposite direction. But the way you went is much better. Going down Texas Pass to Texas Lake sucks. If you ever plan on being in the Cirque again, let me know and I'll send you some GPS tracks of places to explore in the area. Awesome job!
Woo! Glad we picked a good one (well, glad the strangers helped us pick a good one haha). That’s impressive you have climbed up there! 😱 We are super happy we went clockwise, for the downed trees and also the pass!
Wow! What views! It's like a bad one doesn't exist for that entire hike. I had to laugh when Adam dunked himself in the waterfall and Kona was watching him. Like she was thinking "Dad, what are you doing?" I'm glad you had a great hike. Thank you for sharing.
@@AdventuresofAplusK I found you both a couple months back, I enjoy the videos of our National Parks, we have been traveling them for the last 11 years. Your videos are always so informative and you include so much from the surrounding areas, and of course love the food places! We are heading back to South Dakota in a couple weeks, and plan on doing a few things we missed thanks to the information you gave. You both are always so fun and upbeat, this video was the first one I have seen of your backpacking adventure, and it looked like such a great experience. Stay well, look forward to seeing your next adventure!
Awesome views but man... that's a bit much for me! Gotta hand it to Kona though... champ! Especially through the Texas pass. I'd destroy my foot more than it already is for sure! 😅
So so good. Looks like a crazy beautiful spot and besides that rain it looks like you got amazing weather. 2 nights/3 days is the perfect amount I think for myself so this one is definitely going on the bucket list. And you definitely made the right call moving the hike a day for the burgers. I mean if a place has a sign that says "Burger Parking", you know they are serious.
It was the perfect amount of time for us too! We had only ever backpacked that long one other time, but this was the first time we moved camp each night. It was incredible! And sooo happy we moved that hike, those burgers were the bomb!
I enjoy all of your content so much! And we have 2 big trips planned this summer and most of our hikes, food and entertainment came straight from your videos!! You guys are absolutely great and watching you travel is such a joy!!
I love watching all of your videos; I get to see places I'll never get to experience at my age! So beautiful! I was cheering "you can do it" as you were heading over that pass, and laughed out loud when K said "I'm so happy" digging into that burger! As for Kona-the-Adventure-Doggo...I think you need to add another "K" to your channel name! She is definitely living her best life! -

Kona was a champ! Especially through those fallen trees. The hike looks beautiful too! Definitely have to get out there and check this out.
She crushed it! 💪🏼🐶
@@AdventuresofAplusK What kind of dog is Kona? I love her.
She is a pit, jack Russell, dachshund mix we think!
This might be my favorite adventure of yours so far! Definitely adding the Wind River Range to my must-do list. Amazing scenery, great campsites!
We are so happy you enjoyed it!
I came across this video as I look for inspiration for my own WRR backpacking trip. You all did a great job filming, narrating, and editing your trip to share with us all!
I hope to add fly fishing whenever I make it to this part of the country.
Thank you so much! I'm sure the fishing is wonderful out there! I hope to do the same next time we go
What a beautiful hike! I absolutely love this.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much for sharing! The views are just gorgeous! The burgers looked so good!! I love your videos, keep up the great work! :)
They were soooo good!
Just discovered your channel and loved Cirque of the Towers and Sky Pond videos! I've done both of these trips and I enjoyed reliving those memories
Hi Jason! Thanks so much for watching! Stoked to hear you have done both as well!
Consider "the beaten path" trail in MT for another adventure and so I can relive another prior experience!
Backpackers Pantry Pad Thai is seriously next level definitely one of the best on the market I've tried. What a great adventure. This is a bucket list hike for me as well.
SO glad we picked a good meal! We were nervous because we hadn't tried many, but it was so tasty!
This is amazing. I just finished a NOLS course in the Winds and stayed at Dads lake as well as the Cirque. I also passed by many of the sites and locations shown in this video.
We’d love to do a course like that!
Wow! What a adventure!! Amazing scenery!! And those burgers looked great!!❤️
We are still dreaming about those burgers!
Wow.. That's looks like an amazing hike.. wow.. so gorgeous view.. you guys always rock
It was so beautiful! A memory we will remember forever!
Wow, what a EPIC view. Not bad at all. Thanks for sharing.
SUPER EPIC! Thanks for watching!
Epic!
I will keep my comments brief for once. Spectacular scenery and just such a great edit and production. Truly an excellent job.
I know of the Wind River Range but really in name only. I think this climbed up the list quite a few slots.
This trip is challenging, but so worth! Bucket list trip
Just...wow! What an adventure, guys!
It was incredible, so thankful we got to go!
Love how you guys shifted your walk to coincide with open burger shop! ❤
It was worth it! We are so glad we didn’t miss out on those burgers!
Hey Kevin,
This is the route we took: www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/wyoming/cirque-of-the-towers-to-fremont-trail-loop?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map
We started and ended at the same spot (parking lot at the end of the Big Sandy Opening Road, according to the map) then drove to Big Sandy Lodge for burgers 😋
Great job with your videos. As a new comber to Pinedale I learned a lot. Ty
Thanks for watching Jerimiah! Enjoy Pinedale!
You guys endured a lot for this one but the result is spectacular. What a great video of the elusive and remote Wind River Range,
We are so happy to share it, was an incredible trip! 😍
You’re creating some amazing memories that will live with you both forever 👍 The many hours of hiking certainly provided some stunning scenery & views, and as always, another top quality VLOG 👏
SO many amazing memories this year, we are very thankful!
It's incredible!!! Such gorgeous places, you was in paradise, I felt desire to be there too. The rainbow shot was unbelievable!!! Without words 🤩
We’re so happy you enjoyed the views as much as we did!
Amazing views! Love Wyoming, just a beautiful state. Really enjoy your adventures!
It is a beautiful state! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you so much for watching! So sorry to hear about your hip, that does not sound fun!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Nope not too fun but could have been worse. Just found out I'm your neighbor to the west/northwest outside of Burnet. Y'all will enjoy Alaska. I want to spend more time there one of these days as well. Have fun on your adventures! -Steph
This looked incredible! Loved this episode.👍🙌
So happy you enjoyed it Andrew!
@@AdventuresofAplusK yeh, I made Adam's day And yes, don't overdo too too much, I want to see you enjoy.
#1 on our hiking list this year. Thank you
It's the best!
Day hikes are still amazing! And the burgers were HUGE! Impossible to eat those without making a mess 😂
Beautiful! Full inspiration , definitely it's in my bucket list!
We hope you can visit someday!
We got so lucky we picked a good meal! There were sooo many options at REI, it was overwhelming!
Another fantastic video. What a trip and such awesome scenery!! See you next time, so....... Travel Safe.
Thank you!
Amazing video y'all. Loved every second!
We are so glad! 💕💕
You guys are do adventurous and inspiring. You look citified, (no insult), yet do all that on your own!
Living in a van has made us very resourceful 😄
Great job you guys, and of course "All-Day" Kona as well. The scenery was terrific and the burger at the end looked well earned.
It was super well earned! Kona was annoyed she didn’t get one 😂
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Really, really enjoyed this video guys. I'm ready to go just for those burgers!
They are worth the drive out there!
Wow if TH-cam gave out Oscars you just won Best Picture 👏👏👏 That rainbow shot was outstanding 👌you guys are the best 👍
You're too kind Oliver! ❤️
Thanks for the kind words David! So glad you’ve been able to experience this stunning area yourself.
Hahaha she was very concerned about that waterfall!
What a fantastic trip! Great Video of your adventure, truly loved it! Absolutely beautiful area!
We're so glad you enjoyed it, it was the best few days!
We hope you have the best time in SD! Thanks for the kind words!
Awesome views but man... that's a bit much for me! Gotta hand it to Kona though... champ! Especially through the Texas pass. I'd destroy my foot more than it already is for sure! 😅
Kona is such a champ! She crushes these hikes! Although all 3 of us were exhausted after this!
Love this hike!! You captured it perfectly.
Thank you so much!
I enjoy all of your content so much! And we have 2 big trips planned this summer and most of our hikes, food and entertainment came straight from your videos!! You guys are absolutely great and watching you travel is such a joy!!
That makes us SO HAPPY to hear! That is why we do what we do!

The joy felt when eating that burger is indescribable 😂❤️ And we gotta do A+K squared!
