Here in the US back in the 1990's our local airbase had a store anybody could buy. military grade, boots, gloves, radiation meters, tools, just about anything for under $5.00. Some surplus contractors protested that it had to be auctioned off. Who wants to buy a pallet of this stuff. Stuff like shown on the video for two pallets would be about $30.00. It was all high quality military surplus. Miss the old days.

That was actually really cool! Sort of like Christmas day. Never know what is in the next box. Seemed like a great guy running a very legitimate business taking time out of his own pocket in order to entertain people like myself who are not A-Holes. Thanks for sharing!

I like to see the unboxing of stuff i don't use or see every day so i have to say that these videos are interesting to me, other people may not like them but a benefit of watching is you get to see stuff you never seen before and to me that is the interesting part, tks and keep up the good work. cheers.

In the states those can openers are called John Wayne's. The small ones are P-38s and the larger ones are P-51s. I once gave a P-51 to a WW2 vet, he thanked me and kept it on his key chain until he passed away.

    • @howardfortyfive9676

The P-51s open a can easier than the P-38s. Key ring is how I carry my 51 too.

We had the P51 in every single ration pack we got issued when I was in the British Army in the 1980s. If I had kept them all I would have had about a thousand, but I kept one on a bit of para-cord tied to my kit, and the rest I threw away as soon as I got them!

Ah but remember, even the most authentic military gear was designed and made by the lowest bidder. That's why I laugh at Ford commercials that say the F-150 frames are military grade. Lowest bidder.

nah some of them are actual military stuff but some of it like the boots Im pretty sure aren't issued by the army they just dont look like the ones I got issued.
( I used to be a cadet and on one of my camps my unit didnt have enough gear for everyone so we went to the quartermaster place and they issued us our gear from there. )

Hard to get very excited about this stuff. I grew up in the era of genuine military surplus stores. Not junk cheaply manufactured to look vaguely military, but stuff shipped in from all over the world that had actually been used by, or was intended to be used by various countries military. As boys and young men we would just peruse long aisles stacked floor to ceiling with everything imaginable and yes, weapons were available too. The p-38 can openers, bayonets, and the short machete were the only things of interest in this video and really only marginally! Most of this crap is available at discount camping stores and Wal-Mart

      I think otherwise.
You don't know nothing about running a business.
You right about the internet, but only the cheap stuff you can find there "cheaper".
The genuine militairy stuff, everyone knows what it's worth.
You don't get it for dump prises.
The knock offs are easy to accuire and genuine stuff is more difficult and you have to invest more time.
If you sell knock offs, you have to sell 10 to 15 items to have the same profit as 1 genuine one.
And the genuine one has a longer using life.
Hell, you can even sell the genuine one also on the internet.
What would you buy; a H&K knock off for 250$ or the real deal for a 750$ ?
I would go for the real deal.
So it has not to be cheap and chearfull all the time.

My grandfather gave hall of the grandchildren their first knife when we were seven so we could work on our knife safety and whittling badge for Boy or Girl Scouts. Always cut away from yourself, never lay a knife down when it is open or unsheathed.

One last thing mate, yeeou can cut the top off of those jerry cans, take all the rest of that Chinese gear ,stuff it all into the Jerry cans then wrap it all in the good quality military blanket then cart it all out to the waste bin . After that throw some shrimp on the barby and if your not to depressed maybe pop the top on a beeaar.
