    Back and sides are rosewood. The top is Engleman spruce which really 'rings'. It has also been through Yamaha's ARE treatment that 'ages' the wood and definitely contributes to the fabulous sound (with or without the effects) Unbelievable guitar for the money. The concert size body has some depth and is a little bigger than other concert sized guitars I have tried, again this just contributes to the sound. It is the 20th guitar I have owned and it is just fabulous.!

    I have been playing guitar since age 4, and I will never own a Taylor or Gibson acoustic.
    They are terrible value for the money. 100% of my soul feels wrong, because I KNOW I am paying a premium for the name on the headstock, when all I care about is the sound. There's no difference in "build quality" between this Yamaha and a high end Taylor. Yamaha has it's own factory for making guitars, as does Taylor.
    Yamaha was also the first to use this actuator technology. The "Tonewood Amp" kinda "ripped off" Yamaha's technology. Yamaha had a patent in 2008 for the Transacoustic tech. The guys over at Yamaha are awesome.
    I also own this Yamaha LS-TA, along with MANY other brands of acoustic and electric guitars.
    I will play the Yamaha LS-TA all day over a Taylor.
    I do not like Taylor guitars at all.
    Great demo/review, man!

      I went with my Yamaha ls ta over a Taylor because they did not give solid back and sides like Yamaha. And they were even more expensive. I honestly love my new Yamaha. It's such a beautiful guitar and sounds so rich. The transacoustic feature an added bonus.

    I changed the saddle and pins to tusq graph tech and it sounds much better. Now it sounds louder and has a lot of harmonics.I added an armrest and now it's a superguitar.

    great advice about trying before you buy - i've done exactly that before - bought on line without trying - and sold it 6 months later. Last guitar I bought I had one in a shopping cart online for a great price - remembered the lesson and so went to a guitar shop and played it and actually hated it. Looks can be deceiving, and online reviewers are way better players than me. I ended up getting a different guitar that I would never have looked at online - and love it!

      @@ianbarcelos I was looking at a Fender Noventa Strat and ended up with a Vintera 50s Modified Telecaster - very different guitars to what you are considering. If you can try them both before you buy.

    I borrowed the Transacoustic LT-TA dreadnought from one of my students. Wow! Build quality, playability and tone all hit the spot. I was loath to give it back. I want to try the LS-TA as it has a slightly smaller body but I’m sure that it will match it’s sister model for quality.

    I have the Yamaha CSF-TA TransAcoustic Guitar. I absolutely love it.
    It is the entry level TransAcoustic Guitar model and I paid $700 US
    The manual is in Japanese and was wondering if you use yours whit
    the power button on the guitar on or off.
    It can be used both way but I'm not sure of the proper use.

    Yamaha LS-TA and Martin Om 28 are the same size or similar ?

    • @1funkybasslady
      @1funkybasslady 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Similar, but the LS-TA is deeper and has a much fuller tone than the OM. I was at the store ready to buy an OM and went out the door with the Yamaha. Fantastic guitar for a fraction of the price of the Martin. BTW, I own two high end Martin Dreadnoughts (Custom Shop D-45 and a D-41), and I get very nervous taking them out to gig. The Yamaha is fantastic! I won't have to worry about it so much and will be very satisfied with the sound of the Yamaha. I don't care for chorus in any form, so will never use that feature, but I love the reverb. Great for fingerstyle in small venues. Guitar sounds great plugged into a nice acoustic guitar amp.

    • @TheGuitarCoach
      @TheGuitarCoach  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TooBarFoo love it. My only gripe after gigging a lot with it is the batteries drain really quickly when plugged in. Even when I unplug in between sets at a gig. It’s a compromise I guess as it sounds great plugged in so I just carry a load of AA batteries around with me. Better than 9V batteries which are the norm on most other acoustics though.
