We have told the government that CURIOSITY is our ONLY home and it's our livelihood as well. I also saw when Zatara released their last video they said you two were gone, but not where you had gone to. Obviously, I'm hoping, in light of this news, that Tonga has allowed you to return to Curiosity and you're now home. All the work ahead of you to get her ready for sea again, to get your life back in order, all of that. I wish you the best.
Nick and Terysa were able to return from the UK to 'Ruby Rose' in France for similar reason. Good luck with your progress. Oh, and the engine needing T&A, as expertly clarified by Jack was genius :-D
@@MrRipsaw1 Nick and Terysa was a totally different case, since France did have cases of COVID. Tonga hasn't. I'm hoping that they are already in Tonga, though.
@@GaryMCurran I am hoping for their sakes that given Fiji's low number of cases, that they can be classed as originating from a low risk area and be allowed to (carefully) travel to their 'home'. I'm an Islander myself, just outside the UK (Isle of Man, population 86k) and we were 100+ days Covid free thanks to border controls that many are desperate to see relaxed so I see both side of the argument in relation to being able to move about. Islands all over the world are doing their bit and looking across the waters at larger countries that seem intent on dragging the infection out for much longer to the detriment of us all :-(
We spent 5 years straight, traveling with our kids all over the world. Having that kind of life experience at such a young age, is an advantage that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
Keith is hilarious. I’m sure he helps to lighten the mood when homesick. Great family to be staying with. The kids so pleasant, the Mother so smart, and homeschooling the children can not be easy.
I love the beauty of the Zatara family. Wonderful parents bringing their children up that way. And Nikki, your philosophical approach to it all including your self is something to admire

I think the spinach variety in Fiji is called Tetragonia expansa, New Zealand spinach. Native to eastern Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, this leafy vegetable naturally grows in sandy shorelines. I really think you and Jason are where you are supposed to be at this time and place. It is hard, but when this is all over(coronavirus) and you look back you will be really proud of yourselves for using every opportunity you had to have do something good, if not for the world, for us. I’m 45 now, but when I was a kid I thought canned spinach was all that was available (too much Popeye.) I got older and discovered fresh spinach! I know, big deal. But What a world of difference!
I've grown, in the US, the type of spinach you were holding! It is very good and quite different. It's also not as delicate, so doesn't wilt as quickly. I only liked it cooked though.
The way to get along with amazing, weird and energetic people like the Whitacker's is to embrace it.. I know you guys cherish your quiet and peace like my wife but embracing life like they do brings a new viewpoint to why you're sailing. Also great training for when you have kids.

I've always enjoyed your storytelling and cinematography, but what I admire most about you two is your endless optimism and dedication to making the most of whatever situations you end up in. It really is true - life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. With the rude comment about the food looking like barf, I'll pass on watching the Zataras. I've always wondered who leaves those kind of "troll" comments under videos. I guess I know, now! :) It was incredibly nice of them to host the Wynns, however.
I just wanted to say that i feel a real connection with you guys. I have sailed various catarmarans in the Carribean and know what it's like to be stranded without supplies and such. I don't watch every episode but when I do I feel complete empathy because I can smell the sea salt and the drift of the tide when I watch your videos and able to have empathy with your plight.
If you could bottle your enthusiasm, your positivity, your generosity, your drive (I could keep going) If you could do that and distribute it throughout the world you would destroy the drugs trade, for what else would people need or want ? Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!

Oddly, the best part of this video for me was listening to you recap the situation. Hearing your voice and listening to the waves slapping against the boat was very relaxing to me. I reminded me of sailing with my family on Lake Champlain in upstate NY.

Nikki, You and Jason brighten my week! My Wife and I normaly travel alot. I retired a year ago planning on spending our life with our children, grandchildren and traveling and now are stuck essentially sitting at home. We look forward to things getting somewhat back to normal. Until then we will have to dream through your videos.
To the Wynns; I started following Zatara when they had about 10k subs. Found their channel by accident, and was so moved by what they had done.. the courage they had.. that I binged their channel (multiple times now...LOL) The reason I was fascinated, wasn't sailing, and the exotic locales... it was that family dynamic you talked about. It was the contrast and problem solving, the education, and patience... that drew me in. NOW... after watching you guys basically save a mans life, after watching you visit with Zatara, your sense of humor, and your story... I've felt the same sense of compel that I felt with them. I subscribed after this video and am looking forward to following your exploits too. (Anyone... I mean ANYONE... who can overcome such drastic differences with such humor and grace as you guys and The Whittakers can... That's my kind of entertainment!) All the best from the Martins!

I love it to and was a little taken aback when I was sailing from Portugal to Madeira and the canaries that we could not find it. Absolutely right about spinach. It leaves a slight gritty filmy feeling with a weird after taste. But darn it's gooooood!

Almost an astringent like thing but that would be bad and spinach is yummy.
I've grown, in the US, the type of spinach you were holding! It is very good and quite different. It's also not as delicate, so doesn't wilt as quickly. I only liked it cooked though.
The way to get along with amazing, weird and energetic people like the Whitacker's is to embrace it.. I know you guys cherish your quiet and peace like my wife but embracing life like they do brings a new viewpoint to why you're sailing. Also great training for when you have kids.

I've always enjoyed your storytelling and cinematography, but what I admire most about you two is your endless optimism and dedication to making the most of whatever situations you end up in. It really is true - life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. I know you have to have your own issues and struggles but the fact that you consistently choose to help others and take advantage of every opportunity to be encouragers is so, so needed in today's world. With the rude comment about the food looking like barf, I'll pass on watching the Zataras. I've always wondered who leaves those kind of "troll" comments under videos. I guess I know, now! :) It was incredibly nice of them to host the Wynns, however.
I just wanted to say that i feel a real connection with you guys. I have sailed various catarmarans in the Carribean and know what it's like to be stranded without supplies and such. I don't watch every episode but when I do I feel complete empathy because I can smell the sea salt and the drift of the tide when I watch your videos and able to have empathy with your plight.
If you could bottle your enthusiasm, your positivity, your generosity, your drive (I could keep going) If you could do that and distribute it throughout the world you would destroy the drugs trade, for what else would people need or want ? Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!

Oddly, the best part of this video for me was listening to you recap the situation. Hearing your voice and listening to the waves slapping against the boat was very relaxing to me. I reminded me of sailing with my family on Lake Champlain in upstate NY.

Nikki, You and Jason brighten my week! My Wife and I normaly travel alot. I retired a year ago planning on spending our life with our children, grandchildren and traveling and now are stuck essentially sitting at home. We look forward to things getting somewhat back to normal. Until then we will have to dream through your videos.

I started following Zatara when they had about 10k subs. Found their channel by accident, and was so moved by what they had done.. the courage they had.. that I binged their channel (multiple times now...LOL) The reason I was fascinated, wasn't sailing, and the exotic locales... it was that family dynamic you talked about. It was the contrast and problem solving, the education, and patience... that drew me in. NOW... after watching you guys basically save a mans life, after watching you visit with Zatara, your sense of humor, and your story... I've felt the same sense of compel that I felt with them. I subscribed after this video and am looking forward to following your exploits too. (Anyone... I mean ANYONE... who can overcome such drastic differences with such humor and grace as you guys and The Whittakers can... That's my kind of entertainment!) All the best from the Martins!

I can certainly see why it’s your favorite vid with Zatara. I think you guys match so well with Keith and Co and I have always enjoyed Keith and Rene’s humor. The dive was stunning and I’m glad to see you have got to enjoy Rooibos tea Jason. I love it to and was a little taken aback when I was sailing from Portugal to Madeira and the canaries that we could not find it. So for now I have large boxes on my boat to keep me going 🤗 I hope the Tongo repatriation goes well and I am imagining your first week back on the boat once you settle back in “reflecting back on this year !!”
