Unleash the Archers is on its way to bring the next big metal band. They have the best metal vocalist in music right now. And the band is immensely talented. One of my favorite bands, and my 9 year old daughter is a big fan of the singer.

All the members are incredibly talented and just as good live. You really can’t go wrong with their songs. Soulbound, Abyss, and Faster than Light are off their 2020 Juno award winning album. Cleanse the Bloodlines is a great storytelling video. Tonight We Ride shows off Brittney Slayes’ amazing range and more the bands harsh vocals. Dawn of Ages and General of the Dark Army are great older videos. The Wind that Shapes the Land, Apex, and Afterlife don’t have videos but are some the fan’s and band’s favorites.

Totally agree with you Scott. The only thing I wish is they wouldn’t do the brutal/death vocals. Just my personal opinion , not a fan of those type of vocals. When a band writes/ plays such incredible music and to have probably the best vocalist in Metal , I think the death metal vocals take away from it. Just my opinion . But , it’s not going to keep me from listening to UTA, I’m a fan for life.

@@edrossman2654 I get why some might not like those vocals, but in apex and abyss, they are a part of the story and give you reference to which character is giving the dialogue.

@Bisscute I was a thrash metal drummer 🥁and the singer 🎤for my bands back in the early 1980's. I started playing out live in bars when I was 15. Back then we used to play three, 1-hour sets each night. It was brutal at first. But was also the most awesome of awesomeness 🤘🏼
I started playing the snare is it child and picked up the drum set when I was around 11. My brother and I were lucky enough to be gifted with some natural abilities - me on the greatest instrument 🥁 and him on the easier & less respected guitar 🎸.
I took a few weekly lessons on the drum kit. But within a few months I maxed out what the instructor knew. After that, I never had another lesson. Soon I was able to pick up songs after hearing them once (🎼 my brother could do this too - on his easy instrument 🎸🎶) and we'd jam together constantly.
We used to practice 2 - 8 hours a day as often as possible.
Initially, I learned drum parts in songs slow, then added speed. Soon it was all about motor memory skills. After a while, I could literally play blindfolded and play accurately & pretty damn fast.
To give you an idea : 2 weeks after Slayer released "Angel of Death", it became our show opener.
Me drumming and singing 90% of the songs we played. We would play upwards of 40-50 Metal songs a night. No ballads no love songs. All fast & heavy thrash metal, punk & hardcore. I think the slowest songs we played were Motörhead & Judas Priest. We only played 2 sets if we had an opening band.
I ended up playing professionally for over 15 years on 3 continents or so. We had many original songs but never landed a record deal. We just didn't know the business and some members refused to move to the "Big City".
So to make a long story much longer 😬it takes LOTS & LOTS of practice individually. And even MORE as a band. My bands always practiced every day at first. On weekends, we would stay in the practice room all day.
Repetition makes you tight. It's hard work and some never achieve it, but it's ✨magical ✨ when you reach that plateau. Every member knows what the other is doing. We could improvise and do whatever we wanted and everything was in the pocket - tight. We felt invincible.
Once we got really tight, we did not need to practice as much or none at all. Our shows became our "practice". But we always wanted to learn new material and just enjoyed jamming.
As far as singing goes, I never was that great at it, I think some singers are just natural and only need to strengthen their vocal chords as opposed to "learning" to sing. The most difficult aspect for me to sing while drumming was to learn how & when to breathe during each song. Initially, I would be out of breath and gasping for air after every song. But after months of practice, breathing became second nature. I never took vocal lessons but definitely should have.
Of course we all had full-time jobs at the time. I was a journeyman electrician during all of this. You really got to want it, love it and it helps to start young.
There I'm done. Sorry it's so long (but you did ask and the one thing musicians love as much as their music is TALKING about their music to anyone and everyone 😀)
PS You're my new favorite "reaction" channel. Good luck, continued success & thanks for sharing !!

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
    AWAKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
    Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night

The idea of a quest or adventure starting is spot on. The album Apex is a two part concept with Abyss that tells the story of the Immortal and the Matriarch. Awakening is the first part of that story when the Immortal is awoken by the Matriarch. Brittany, the singer, is representing the Immortal and Grant doing the harsh vocals is the Matriarch calling out to the Immortal because the he is bound to follow the orders of the person that wakes him.
The two albums tell a really cool story and they are producing a graphic novel of the Immortal saga.

Thank you, Bisscute, for your reactions. I have watched quite a few now. (a) I love your accent and (b) I love how you try to express how you are feeling and how the different parts of the music affect you. Many reactors just say, "Wow, that was amazing. Don't forget to comment and subscribe. Bye,"" but you seem to try to explain how the song makes you feel, what you like and what you don't understand and want to know more about, which makes you seem much more genuine.
If you like the drums in this song, maybe you should watch 'Sons of Winter XXX OK. You've already done that. Another amazing drum performance is by Dan Presland in the Australian prog metal band 'Ne Obliviscaris' (Do not forget) playing 'And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope' live in Colorado, 2016. (No, I don't know what it means either. I don't think anyone does)

I agree with every suggestion you have so far. Interestingly you mentioned video games and quests, UTA albums are centered around stories about quests and adventures and they would admit they are big gaming nerds. For another perspective on the band, I suggest reacting to their cover of "Northwest Passage". It's considered Canada's unofficial second National Anthem and they do an amazing job of it.

    Buna zia, Bisscute.
Do not worry about your English, you are doing fine.
This band is from Canada, and they are extremely friendly folks.
    They are also incredible musicians.
I would like to say that anyone could get to that level of talent if they had enough time and lessons, but I believe that the Very Best musicians do have the ability to tap their special talent.
And even with that, it takes at least 5-7 years of steady practice to perfect the timing and accuracy of their playing.
If you want to hear more from UTA, you might want to listen to Tonight We Ride, or Legacy, or Abyss.
Enjoy their music. They are a special band, to me.

If you want to continue hearing bands fronted by women who can scream and growl, I recommend ARCH ENEMY. Their current Manager and former frontwoman, Angela Gossow, was one of the first women (if not THE first woman) who made it possible for women to achieve acceptance performing harsh vocals in Metal. She was an absolute force of nature, her time fronting them was their best period and the song "Nemesis" is a good starter. Arch Enemy is still around, but they are now being fronted by Alissa White-Gluz, who has really improved with them and my recommended song "On And On" is my favourite song on 'War Eternal', her first album with them, is my favourite on the album!
There's also a bit of an explosion of bands fronted by women who can do harsh vocals happening right now (also has been happening over the past decade), and I am loving the sight and sound of it! You've done Jinjer, Spiritbox, and Unleash The Archers, but some other bands worth checking besides Arch Enemy are:
ROLO TOMASSI (They've been around since 2008) - "Rituals" and "A Flood Of Light"
    VINTERSEA - "Spawn Awakening"
EMPLOYED TO SERVE - "Exist" and "Mark Of The Grave"
WALLS OF JERICHO - "Feeding Frenzy"
IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox's former band - "Gift Of Death" (a song from her second and final album with them, and the band's final album period). However, Courtney wasn't the only frontwoman IWABO had in their career, as she replaced their founding frontwoman Krysta Cameron, who left the band when she was pregnant. Anyway, "The Cat's Pajamas" is one of Krysta's songs with them and my favourite from her time with them.
THE AGONIST, Alissa White-Gluz's former band - "Panophobia" (from her last album with the band). The band replaced her with Vicky Psarakis, and she has been their voice ever since. I didn't like Vicky's first pair of albums with them, but their most recent album was amazing and I recommend the song "In Vertigo".
    SPOIL ENGINE - "Stormsleeper"
    MONOCHROMATIC BLACK - "Phosphenes"
    KARKAOS - "Tyrants"
SOME BANDS FRONTED BY WOMEN WHO EXCLUSIVELY SING THOUGH:
WITHIN TEMPTATION - "Our Solemn Hour" (WT has MANY great songs that I can recommend, but this one is in my Top 5 of theirs).
LACUNA COIL - "Blood, Tears, Dust"
    NIGHTWISH - "Nemo"
EPICA (They have what's called a Beauty and a Beast: Female clean singer, male screamer/growler) - "The Skeleton Key"
DRACONIAN (They also do the Beauty and the Beast thing) - "Last Hour Of Ancient Sunlight"

However, I would say the post-2000s trend of women bringing screaming and growling in Metal bands is more Angela's influence than Sabina's because of how immense Arch Enemy became.

@Bisscute: Welcome, dear girl, to the world of metal music! Here, you got to hear Unleash the Archers, who plays both power metal and speed metal. First, you mention the speed of the drums and guitarists -- this is very similar to gaming where you have to hit many buttons fast (or even the same button fast). I have to ask if you've ever played Guitar Hero or Rock Band? If you have, speed metal was brought out in Guitar Hero III, with DragonForce's track Through the Fire and Flames as the hardest track to play on the hardest difficulty. It is insanely fast.
Relatedly, you mentioned the music making you feel you're about to go on a quest, and this is not far off from the truth, lol. Awakening is the beginning of a musical story that takes two full albums to tell, in the Apex and Abyss albums. The story is that of the Immortal, who gets woken up by a ritual. Though he lives forever, he is cursed to do the bidding of the one who wakes him. I highly recommend reacting, in order, to the entire Apex album first, followed by the entire Abyss album. You will not regret it, I assure you.
That being said, at least two Unleash the Archers songs have been converted into old-school video game music: Apex was converted into an 8-bit track (think Legend of Zelda on the original Nintendo), and Soulbound from Abyss was converted into a 16-bit track (think the original Sega Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog). And yes, it takes both talent and training to play metal music, as like Jedi Master Luke Skywalker says at the end of the Mandalorian Season 2: "Talent without training is nothing."
As it stands, I'm unsure of what music you may listen to, but I have some recommendations for you:
    1) Old-school Iron Maiden, with the live performance from 1982 of Hallowed Be Thy Name. This performance is one of the reasons why Brittney sings the way she does, as Iron Maiden's lead singer Bruce Dickinson is nicknamed the Human Air Raid Siren.
    2) Nightwish -- Ghost Love Score, Wacken, 2013. This performance is a legendary metal performance, as Floor Jansen proved she is the best female vocalist alive today, worldwide.
    3) Floor Jansen and Henk Poort, Phantom of the Opera, Beste Zangers, 2019. Here, Floor was finally recognized in her home country of the Netherlands, when this video became the most reacted-to and viewed video in 24 hours, when it dropped in 2019.
    4) Sabaton, Christmas Truce. The band Sabaton has been around for years, but is only now beginning to be known. A power metal band from Sweden, Sabaton sings about military history. Christmas Truce is about the Christmas Truce of 1914, during World War I.
    5) Night Witches, Sabaton (Animated Story Video) feat. YarnHub. This video tells the tale of the Soviet Air Force's 588th Night Bombing Regiment, an all-women bomber regiment in World War II.
    6) Defense of Moscow, Sabaton. This song is about the Russian defense of Moscow, during Operation: Barbarossa in 1941. Sabaton is the history teacher you did not know you needed!
    7) We Were Warriors, Wind Rose. This is another power metal band from Sweden (I could be incorrect on this). This band, however, sings about the Dwarves from Lord of the Rings!
    8) Returning Race, Wind Rose. Another "Dwarf Metal" song, inspired by the works of Tolkien.
    9) Nightwish concert, Wacken, 2013. This concert is the best live concert ever recorded, and contains Ghost Love Score as I mentioned above.
    10) Shoemaker, Nightwish. This song is about Dr. Eugene Shoemaker, who not only discovered the Shoemaker-Levy-9 comet, but who also proved "Crater Theory" in astrophysics. Sadly, Dr. Shoemaker died in a car accident in 1997, and is the only human to be buried on the moon.
I hope you continue your metal journey, and I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction!

    Hi Bisscute 👋.
First video I'm watching from you.
I've read in the comments you're from Romania, that's cool 🙂🇷🇴. I have two Romanian colleagues, very friendly and warm people 😊. I myself am from Belgium🇧🇪.
The drummer since you've been asking is Scott Buchanan, he and Brittney, the singer, are a couple.
And I know you have to pause the video so TH-cam doesn't take it down, but - I'm only saying this to help you, no offense, and you do what you want on YOUR channel of course. But I recommend you to pause between two parts of the songs (between a verse and the chorus, or at the end of a solo, before a bridge, ...), Not in a middle of a note/sentence/solo. I know people can get annoyed about that and they will be less likely to stay on your channel if you happen to do that often. Just telling, as I said, it's your channel, you do what YOU want 😉.
I'll check your reaction on Tonight We Ride. Maybe I'll throw some suggestions, but I guess you will get enough suggestions from other people, + that friend you mentioned 😉.
Though your "cuteness" (accurate nickname choice btw 😊) makes me think of Markie Morávková, the singer of Alia Tempora. She is also on Twitch as "The Unstable Unicorn". She is from Czech Republic. I would be happy if you check out her band Alia Tempora. Maybe with the song, "Loser Like Me" 🤷🏻‍♂️. She has become a close friend of mine and she is the sweetest person ever 🤗🤗🤗🦄.

I know I'm a bit late here, but if you truly want to see how amazing a singer Britney is, check out "Lords of the Trident - Brindisi. That will show you the depth of her vocal talent, and power.
As for the drummer, he is very good, but there are much better drummers out there. Check out "Meshuggah - Bleed" drum cam, or any drum play through from Evgeny Novikov (drummer from Slaughter to Prevail). He brings new meaning to speed, rhythm, and just pure talent.

It usuallly takes around 12 years to be that good at guitar, but It can be significantly less if you're really focused and dedicate hours every day. And when it comes to technical ability, talent is BS, it may sound nice, but in reality all you need is passion and hard work.

I'm here commenting five months after the fact, so the chances of you seeing this are slim, but ...
the correct question to ask is, "How long do you have to practice until you can make it look that easy?"
And the answer is, "If you haven't started by now, it may already be too late."

In your previous videos you spoke of wanting to hear alternatives to Jinjer and Tatiana. Now please don't get me wrong I'm not saying UTA is bad. They are a very good band and Brittany has got a power voice that few others can match. However UTA is in no way an alternative to Jinjer. Completely different styles. If you truely want to explore more extreme woman vocals might I point you to JF Fisher comment on your Perennial video. He laid out a list of like 6 or 7 really good choices for high quality extreme vocals.
All that being said I hope you did enjoy UTA. Love the channel Biss 💕
