- One piece selvedge denim fly construction.
A mini documentary on Paul Kruize, maker of bespoke jeans, shirts and other garments, made by Richard Bussink.
The making of a one piece selvedge denim fly.
This video shows the construction of the one piece selvedge fly, also know as the continuous fly. This fly construction was originally patented by David Neustadter in 1877. It is a clean and simple way of making a button fly that is not seen much in the industry. I used this method for a few years. The only problem was it needed a cut in the fabric. See my video "Making a Pair of Jeans' from 09:00 • Making a Pair of Jeans...
Recently I analyzed a more recent, improved version where no cut is needed, making it an even stronger construction. This video shows how it is done. Enjoy!

Yes, where is your center and where are you from? Tell me right now, I want to get it stitched.

Thanks for uploading your videos. I’m curious, at 4:49 do you do tuck the folds into each other like a flat felled seam, or do you just lay the two pieces on top of each other and sew together. Thank you!
They’re on top of each other.
Thanks teacher, im from 🇻🇳vietnam
Hi,
Thanks for sharing.
Is it buttons only fly or is there a chance to sew a zipper in? If yes then at what point? At the very beginning?
It’s only buttons with this construction method.
