I’ve had my 24 trd sport with premium package for about almost a year now and loving every minute of it.. this and my hatchback sti makes me a happy man.. everything you said about this truck man is on point despite of the hate ..
as long as usa is tanking in inflation, you are going to see prices go up everywhere. This is happening worldwide. Truck prices for dodge and ford doubled. Maverick just increased it price by $7000
@@jamestorregrossa1185 true. As much as new tacoma sales are down compared to old, tacoma is still dominating sales compared the other trucks in the class.
I have had my tacoma TRD off-road for 8 months now it's been perfect this is so much better then the 3rd generation tacoma they fixed everything on the 2024 tacoma from the 3rd generation tacoma 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Unfortunately these have proven to be a disappointment. The good news? There are plenty of other trucks in this segment to choose from. Hope Toyota gets back on track with their truck and SUV lineup.
Joe, I would not spend the extra 10k to get the Pro over this model. I also would not spend an extra 10 to 15k after dealer discounts to get this over the Colorado Trail Boss and the Ranger FX4. The Taco is good, and it is desirable, but it's not that much better. Good overall review.
There already having issues with it..the cost of this thing is ridiculous . Better off going out and buying the 2025 nissam frontier. With its new updates is the best truck for the money and it still has a V6
My older brother literally bought a 2018 F-150 Platinum brand new for a sticker price of $62,000. Didn't have all the options but way more than this truck, aside from screen, and its a full size truck. How in the world have we gotten to a Tacoma TRD Pro being more expensive than what a platinum f-150 used to be in 6 years?? Am I losing it or has pricing gotten a bit out of control?
I wish that Toyota would dispense with the faux vents across the entire trim level. Some real, metal skid plates would be nice too. I love the new Tacoma, warts and all. Great review!
For the most part the public is rejecting this truck for its 4 cylinder turbo engine. Toyota made a big mistake by dropping the V-6 engine. Sales are up on the Nissan Frontier Pickup.People want a V-6 engine option. Sales of the Ford Ranger are going to go up their 4 cylinder turbo has over 300 HP. Also Ford has. V-6 turbo engine for the Ranger.
Should've kept their tried and true v6. Owners have reported problems with the transmission as well. One of the few times Nissan made the right move and outsmarted Toyota.
I have a 2024 Tacoma, SR5. Like many other dedicated Taco owners, it’s way over-priced and the re-engineering “thrills” reduced the practical use. If you intent to tow a trailer with an SR5, good luck finding a brake controller. Yes. It can tow over 6,000 pounds. But, there is no pigtail adapter for an after market brake controller!!!!! It gets much better: From what I am reading, SR5 OWNERS CANNOT EVEN GET AN OEM TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER AFTER THE PURCHASE.
20:02 after talking about pep under your right foot I honestly thought for a second you were going to say it had a digital gas pedal. Am honestly a little upset it doesn't. 😮😮 😢😢
The newer midsized trucks are nice sure, but when their prices are rivaling my 2020 full size Silverado TrailBoss 6.2 which stickered for 57k...its a HARD pass..🤷😖
Neither for me. Toyota went from the “go to” for reliable trucks to the “no thanks”. Way too many major issues right now with these new designs, and insanely overpriced. Only the previous generation years would I consider.
Inflation is high worldwide, nothing is cheap to build anymore post covid. Sad times. Ford maverick price has gone up $7000. In Canada the maverick sell for 38 to 50g, i would rather get tacoma for that price. Gladiator is 67 to 130g.
Hmmm, I paid $38,000 for my 2019 loaded TRD Off-road, this thing has been a tank so far, no way I’m paying that kind of money for something with a few more usb plugs and some better lighting, and quite possibly…..a lemon.
Love the look, hate the price! I was thinking about it but I’m not buying a truck with a 4 banger in it and don’t tell me it’s better because it’s got a turbo. That motor will be cooked in 100K miles and the tranny will be fried if you attempt to pull anything with it. Nissan Frontier has me looking.
It’s a Taco, build in Mexico. No matter how much Toyota pro TH-camr given positive reviews about it, no body will buy. 15-20 over price, cheaply made. Smaller back seat compare to the previous gen.
This thing is actually a proper off roading vehicle.. 17" wheels, rear locker, sway bar disconnect, and costs less than a Gladiator Rubicon. It's too bad they throw in useless features to jack the price up, like an electric tailgate. Someone who truly needs an electric tailgate won't be strong enough to even load anything in the bed. Anyways, I approve of this truck.
The prices are nuts now! I purchased a new, well equipped Full size pickup 3 years ago for 39k. I will no longer be purchasing new trucks that are overpriced. A Taco is not worth it
Neither of them are good value when you account for price + Dealer markups on these. Ford Ranger Raptor for 55k is probably the best buy in this segment.
Or spend more for a pro? Haha!!!! No. First, the TRD offroad is overpriced, as for the pro…my cousin just backed out of a deal with a 24 TRD pro because the finance guy actually laid out what he would have paid by the end of his 60 month loan. The total price would have been just over $98,000. For a Toyota pick up truck…
TRANSMISSION ISSUES, Toyota will not fix them unless your Tacoma alert one of the 6 codes…No TRANS CODE ALERT, you will keep driving the vehicle you bought until it breaks down, Total FAILURE on the new TACOMAS
Toyota sticks that giant ipad in there to diatract the average consumer from noticing the toy gade plastics and cheaply assembled interior and exterior. You can't even get power cloth seats without spending $50k. Insanity.
after two weeks of looking at and researching the 3rd gen now i understand why all the complaints are so loud.
Just traded away my 3rd gen for a F150. It was nice but cramped interior and max payload was 900 lbs.
I’ve had my 24 trd sport with premium package for about almost a year now and loving every minute of it.. this and my hatchback sti makes me a happy man.. everything you said about this truck man is on point despite of the hate ..
Thank you for giving an opinion of somebody who actually owns one.
ITS PURPLE!
Cool looking truck but I’m not spending $54k on a TRD OffRoad. I can get a loaded Colorado Zr2 for this money.
as long as usa is tanking in inflation, you are going to see prices go up everywhere. This is happening worldwide. Truck prices for dodge and ford doubled. Maverick just increased it price by $7000
@@bjsimon802 Ford truck prices doubled ? Are you saying a loaded F 150 is $140-150 k now ?
Way too overpriced, Tacomas shouldn't cost more than 45k.
The TRD Pro might get away with 55k.
@@chrisheiderscheit7077 Nah, still overpriced by a lot. You'll know once you climb inside and realize how small the truck is.
@@chrisheiderscheit7077 My friend paid 60k for his limited with extended warranty.
I agree, my friend however, it looks like Toyota is prepared to take the heat for these prices
@@jamestorregrossa1185 true. As much as new tacoma sales are down compared to old, tacoma is still dominating sales compared the other trucks in the class.
2025 Frontier!!!
Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is cheaper and has a V6. Tacoma reliability isn’t what it used to be, maybe they will work out the bugs but for now hard pass.
How did the Tacoma and Tundras become so insanely huge? I would love a 90's Tacoma instead.

Nissan Frontier all day every day!
9:28 I love that acceleration. This Tacoma looks pretty good Joe!
54k and not even a PRO,
Add 10K for a PRO,
Add another 10K as dealer markup.
Saying it again, for that price give me a Ranger Raptor.
"TRD"...the only thing missing is "U"
Love Those Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Trucks😍❤️🏁🛻💨!!!
I love the overall design on the new Tacoma! It’s great! It’s just the price that concerns me
Prices will increase with the new software issues in the USA and China.
Get a Nissan and never look back!
Ditto - went for the 2025 Nissan Pro-4x saved even more !! Love it!
I got the same truck but in underground and I love it. No regrets.
My motto is that life is short ALWAYS buy the pro version of everything
Frontier is the best midsize
🤣🤣🤣it's only the cheapest... it's a dated 💩

Its nuts that a $54k truck doesn't have hood struts. Overpriced garbage.
I know its a lot older but crazy to think my 2011 diesel f350 dually cost this much when new.....

I’m sorry, $54,000 for a Tacoma is absolutely insane. I’ll keep my old one till the wheels fall off.

The Frontier has hydraulic hood struts and not a prop rod!
Oh hell yes. Coz midsize truck owners look for that the prop rod as a deal breaker 😂..
@@noxnyc23 ZONK!
Prob best to get this the do your own mods instead of TRd pro / trailhunter unless you just like the name and stuff out the box
The dash screen seems a bit obtrusive. I wish they designed the screens to be folded out of the way or integrated into the dash.
I'm not into trucks, but even if I were, I'd have trouble associating myself with something calling itself a TRD; it just doesn't smell right.
For now, it’s a pass. Toyota has too many issues they are still figuring out with their new trucks/suvs.

It took Toyota 9 years to develop this 4th Generation Taco. Now Toyota wants to recoup 900% of every R&D dollar spent.
