Today, the final part of my interview with the great Hal Linden, TV’s Barney Miller.
Hal tells what he thinks The real reason was that the Barney Miller cast never won an Emmy.
We talked about his good experiences in theater - came back around to what was then his current gig - Pirates of Penzance on Broadway.

I LOVED Barney Miller! Unfortunately, I think the only cast members left are Hal Linden, Barbara Barrie, and Max Gail. Oh yeah, and Linda Lavin who played Detective Janice Wentworth. I was devastated when it ended, but even more so when the cast started dying off. RIP

The great mystery of Barney Miller to me has always been why did Gregory Sierra leave?
I believe it was to be in Danny Arnold’s short lived show A.E.S. Hudson Street.

When did this interview take place? Hal Linden mentions that no main cast member other than Jack Soo (Nick Yemana) and James Gregory (Frank Luger) had died. Ron Carey (Carl Levitt) died on January 16, 2007. Steve Landesberg (Arthur Dietrich) died on December 20, 2010.
I think they're all gone now, except for Max Gail and Hal Linden. :(
The interview took place around 2008.
@@MrJoeybabe25 Gregory Sierra and Barbara Barrie are still alive. Ron Glass and Abe Vigoda have also since died. Yes, Max Gail and Linden are the only others still alive besides Sierra and Barrie.

OR Hal Linden. The straight man is the toughest gig in comedy.
