      You are so damn right!!!
      This was the CD that got me to Diego Garcia (Navy) and this is the jam that stuck to me a year later, when I came home:

      I have it in my collection. To my ears 90 percent of the very best music comes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, but Blue Wonder Power Milk is a really good album.

    Sometimes the goofiest of lyrics can say the most. This is one the most incredible, touching songs I have ever heard. Ignore the lyrics -- everything else is absolutely perfect -- the music, tempo, delivery, video -- I LOVE IT.

      The lyrics are actually pretty reasonable if you understand what Club Montepulciano was (I didn't until I looked it up).

      The lyrics are nothing less than how humans think and act. We are all silly.

    I discovered them in 1997 in a small record shop in Copenaghen.. it was just the beginning and they were called Hoover (wihtout "phonic").. It was love at first sight.. and I miss their music so much

    I'm almost 57 and discovered TripHop a couple of years ago..... and it saved my life, well it excited me about music again. Going to high school in the late 70's I was tired of Floyd, Zeppelin, Door's, Who etc. Noe they're great bands, but I'm the ADD poster child especially with music.... and yes I love classical, and pop, and oldies pretty much everything except speed metal and country. My point is that Hooverphonic is one of my top three tripHop bands. Especially the live album..... perfection! TripHop On!

      @@fdost5354 I'd like to know too :) Wanderlusting, if you ever see this, share those other 2 bands with us in case we aren't aware of them! These days finding another wonderful band like Hooverphonic is like Christmas for me.

      You might be my brother from another mother/father who gave us both ADD. Except, i can't listen to pop.

      Lol. I also must be related. Have always anticipated the new, the innovative, progression and the 80s and 90s stuff like this I keep going back to. Can't handle metal, rap or hip hop, or most pop.

    "Fiona said something nice to me
    Green velvet jacket sets you free
    Lenny beige is performing spinning wheel
    Club Montepulciano is what you need
    Blue Hawaii, Piccadilly whore
    A cocktail is what I'm longing for
    Blue Hawaii, Piccadilly whore
    Roger fell asleep in the hall
    Fiona said something nice to me
    New blue chic suit sets you free
    Lenny beige is performing spinning wheel
    Club Montepulciano is what you need
    Blue Hawaii, Piccadilly whore
    A cocktail is what I'm longing for
    Blue Hawaii, Piccadilly whore
    Roger fell asleep in the hall"

    I have loved this song for the last 22 years but I have no idea what the lyrics even mean.

    • @andriottijunior
      @andriottijunior 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If I'm not wrong, Club Montepulciano was a famous nightclub in London in the 90s and early 00's with a variety of themes related to the cabaret era. The song is a reference to all of that after the band visited the place during recording sessions for Blue Wonder Power Milk album.

    • @1pietromaximoff1
      @1pietromaximoff1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Song is about creating your own place, finding a new way to feel good again. They say, "Club Montepulciano" here, you can say whatever bar or club next to your place.

      I'm here... still after all these years.. and I remember the club.. that was 22 years ago... 18 since the last time I was there and 16 years since the club stopped touring... makes me sad.. no one these days knows what it was like pre-internet.. back when reality was reality..
