When Willam looks at Shannon Doherty and says "Brenda?", that is the name of the character she played in Beverly Hills 90210, which is the show that initially made her a household name throughout the country. A bit of meta humor that many younger viewers don't get because the reference is no longer relevant.
Fun fact, Jason Lee was a very influential professional skateboarder in the late 80's early 90's. Back then the general public didn't know who he was like they might today, but skateboarders revered him as an innovative and groundbreaking street skater. In those times pros generally "retired" after age 25, it was thought difficult to market an "old" dude to the industry's primary target back then, young teenage boys.
Lee was one of my favorite skaters back in the day! Unfortunately, I never went pro, myself but also, I never got my hands on his iconic Cat in the Hat deck.
The View Askewnivers. One of the first connected movie universe. Tricia Jones is sister to Alyssa Jones of Chasing Amy. Rick Derris is mentioned and appears in multiple movies. Julie Dwyer death is mentioned in multiple movies. Brody and Randal(Clerks) are related.
Ethan Suplee constantly melting down about the sailboat is one of the funniest parts of Mallrats to me. I'm glad he got into fitness and is taking care of his body now 💪 Ethan pops up in a few of Kevin Smith's films after Mallrats.
This is one of my favorites. Kevin Smith movies are always a fun time to be had. The View Askewniverse was one of the first cinematic universes, aside from the Universal Monster films from early cinema. Mallrats also has my favorite Stan Lee cameo of all time. Thank y’all so much for watching this and sharing your reactions with us.
Rodney Alcala was the Dating Game Killer. Funny you mention this as I just had YT recommend a documentary on Rodney earlier today. :Tinfoilhat: ***Edit*** "What Kind of Belt is that?" Oh dear, you two need to watch Batman '89.
@@thomassantillan2194 yes that’s him! Couldn’t remember his name 😂… and for the record Jenna asked what kind of belt is that, I said Batman directly after
Chronological order is never a good idea for a first time watch. There are Clerks references in this movie that you just won't get. It's still an enjoyable movie but it could be more enjoyable.
This is the original STAN LEE cameo. I hate Ben Affleck since the first time I saw this. RIP Shannon Dougherty 😢 Thank god you watched the right one… the director cut isn’t as good. This is the one we had on VHS back in the DAY!!!! When it had like a cult following. All the stuff they say about comic books- that was specifically for us fanboys… nobody even knew what the hell the X-Men were, and all that other comic book talk before the MCU
Speaking of "Fanboys"..... Jay and Silent Bob have a quick cameo in that movie. Which, is another "obscure" movie that a lot of people don't know about.
@@HabitualCinema The one what? Dude on the show? I never cared about that. I was just saying Ramirez's first name was Richard. I don't particualrly care to learn facts about serial killers. But I do like "American Horror Story". That show's awesome.

@@HabitualCinema Without giving away any spoilers, I'm going to recommend having tissues on hand when you get to Clerks III. So far, in my lifetime, only TWO movies have ever made me cry watching them......... "Dragonheart", and "Clerks III". If you do Dragonheart, I'll tell you why and when it "breaks" me. Clerks III (which I'm going to assume you'll get to)... you'll need tissues when I tell you WHY that movie broke me.
@@HabitualCinema No need to be scared.... but given that I'm not prone to crying about movies..... that should tell you just how emotional it can be. Dragonheart is a fantastic movie, and I've loved it from the first time I saw it. The ending of that movie just hit me in the feels REAL hard. Hell, I've seen it over 100 times, and I still tear up at that ending. Clerks III caught me off guard, but there's a very "personal" reason it made me cry. But again, I won't detail why until you post it here on YT. Because I have this thing against posting "spoilers", and that would be a major one.
Ivana the fortune teller played "Terry" In the tv show "Three's Company" with the late John Ritter.

That's Jeremy Lindon. His twin brother Jason London was in Dazed and Confused. This movie and Clerks happens simultaneously actually.
Jeremy London.
