They've captured the heart of so many of our MTM Family that we had to share this story with you all first. Hope you enjoy!

I love the emphasis that Papa Chin placed on prayer. It is so true, without God in your life, everything would just fall apart.

My biggest take away from this video is that, Prayer, Love, Respect, Hard work, Dedication, Communication are the main ingredients/ foundation on which to build a strong friendship, relationship, marriage, family.
@Althea George Yes Lady Althea, because we are all human. Things won't always work out the way we want it to. They did admit that if they did some things differently then they may still be married. And thats the beautiful thing, we not only learn for people's successes, we can also learn from their failures. Also 38 years is no chicken feed time to maintain a relationship. That's a long time.

...and the two became one...the husband is the head and wears the wife as a crown that is given respect and served.
Being a Jamaican of mixed race myself, I felt like you were telling my story. I took it upon myself to get to know more about me, having an in-depth conversation with my uncle was so fulfilling. My father being of Asian and Scottish decent. His grandmother came from Scotland and grandfather from China married my mother who is mixed with black and Indian. Back in those days my parents would say that racism was real. Real enough that my grandparents did not attend their wedding to show disapproval of the union. In the end my sister and I were born and the love for us is undeniable. They had to work through a lot of rough patches to get to where we are today. I say that we are worth it! Thank you for letting us be a part of your family.

Thanks very much for the advice I’m a newly wed got married last yr 2019 now me and my husband moved to Scotland we are looking to start our little family ! And that is something I always tell myself that being whole and happy for yourself first then bringing our happiness together not I making you happy or you have to make me happy that don’t work because from the time something happen that don’t make you happy then you say the person isn’t making you happy and it don’t make sense 🇹🇹🏴💖 bless your family
Your parents' story is so intriguing that it had my wheels turning wondering about what life was probably like back in those days as "the other minority" living in Jamaica. I can sit at their feet and glean from them all day. It also has inspired me to do some research and as an aspiring filmmaker, it makes me want to tell these types of stories about our "Out of Many, One People" Jamaican culture. (I even paused the video to do some research on the Myrtle Bank Hotel). This was great! Love your family. And now there's 2 grand daughters! This video has already aged well! :)

Thank you Papa Chin and Nana and to your parents and their parents before them, for growing your family to be that light and love that the world need to drive out darkness and hate; for growing them up to not base their love and respect for others on the person's status in society or the color of their skin. We all need to practice this.

OMG!! I really appreciate mom and dad sharing their stories of childhood. You guys are so right... as a Jamaican growing up, their was a stigma that certain fair skin Jamaicans came from money. So glad that mom and dad shared their stories of not only being from poor families but also of the work their families put in so that they could become successful 👍
