Wonderful, deeply felt music. I do so hope that when Benjamin Grosvenor has a bad day, he
looks at these comments and sees how hugely appreciated he is by his fans. Bravo Benjamin

A man who is steeped in musicality. Wonderful how he eschews flash and fire and instead selects and performs superbly musical works. His touch is purely in the service of the music. His tempos are spot-on, his phrasing expressive and his dynamics perfectly calibrated. The flashy show-off pianists who like to mug and grin at the keyboard can learn a lot from this brilliant young man.

This type of musicality is what touches me as an ex-wannabe concert pianist...and I NEVER hear this kind of playing in anything...any thing that poor Miss Wang plays and yet there is no end to the list of the converts to her technically tiktok playing which leaves me cold, colder than ice every single time I try to listen to her playing. I DO DO DO LOVE THE FACILE TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL WAY HER ARMS, WEIGHT AND DEXTERITY ARE ATTUNED...BUT IF ONLY SOME OF HER HEARRT WEERE FREED

This young pianist is remarkably mature and has a profound musicality and clear intuition that goes much beyond a pure acrobatic technique. He brings his listener to the heart of each work he plays and all we can say is "Thank you so much for being so true and sincere". Magnificent, Benjamin !

Grosvenor is one of the pianistic and musical phenomenons of all time; this is simply gorgeous playing, and it's live! The top pianists today are Grosvenor, Pletnev, Trifonov, Fray, Hough, and Malofeev, and of these Grosvenor is the most poetic and dulcet toned.

Best Bach-Busoni was the live DeLarrocha of my youth . This Busoni sounds like Grosvenor is going for 19th century musical effects .Organ playing and also the freedom of 19th century "intepreters". He also makes the Bach sound like an improvisation . Butit's not organic sounds like many separate flights. As if Scriabin was playing Bach .Its turned into dark night hallucinatory music. Ilove this young man's way here. He will be a revelation in Ravel and Debussy . He onjures a world in the 11th minute !

During my year at Eastman School of Music, while working on my Masters degree, my chairman, William Larson, said something of great importance. This was that a study had been done to discover what make music beautiful. And the result was subtle nuances in timing and intensity. Which Benjamin Grosvenor has well mastered. Makes you wonder why today's pop music, especially ugly rap music, brings fear and ugliness. Some of us know--it is engineered this way by those who seek to destroy us.
