I too like to buy ahead of the season as I tend to buy from a couple of private shoe shops who do higher brands but only ever have limited stock. I also like to buy pre loved which means looking ahead.
I live in Scotland and I wear raincoats 90% of the time; padded or lightweight ones, depending on the season (rain and wind at the same time, hooded jackets are necessary to survive). Can you have a video of how to be stylish in raincoats?
You have become one of my favorite sites for chic, wearable, beautiful fashion suggestions. You never present something I wouldn’t want to wear. Thanks
Love! Love! Jackets, Blazers and cardigans. Love your white and your black ones. I am knitting a Chanel inspired jacket/cardigan at the moment a bit like your white one and will add the gold buttons. I live in NZ and we don't have the beautiful clothing at good affordable prices that you have in the UK. Loving your videos and Insta stories. Thank You
I love the way we're all drooling over this chic transitional stuff in the UK (me included), when the truth is that the weather will go straight to winter and we'll all be in chunky jumpers, wool coats and thick boots one day after the current heatwave ends!
Lydia thank you so much for this video! I live in southern US and its so easy to fall into a boring fleece jacket since the weather here is very mild. You inspired me to shop for some nice jackets this year. Update: I did shop for new jackets, and I felt more confident in making my selections this season. I found several that paired well with my usual look, which is high waist jeans and loose trousers. Thanks to Lydia for suggesting cropped jackets and cardigans in classic colors like navy, camel, and dark green. Just pulling those on over a white or black T shirt, and adding bold jewelry, is really making my life easier this season! I'm 5'3" so I look for ways to make my legs seem longer, and I'm finding that pairing a cropped jacket over a high waist trouser really accomplishes that!
Thank you for this, completely agree we don't talk about jackets enough, seeing as for most days of the year (in chilly England anyway) it's what takes up most real estate on our bodies, and what people notice first about us.
I love how you kept the same outfit while pairing it with the different jackets! That is so helpful! I’m always in awe of how you put your shoes with the same outfit while changing the jacket. Could you do a video where you have the same outfit and only change your shoes? Keep these wonderful videos coming!
Thank goodness you keep it simple with one base layer so we can concentrate on learning about the outerwear 😅 I adore your content because you keep it straight forward, I am able to take away lessons each time. I definitely see outerwear as practical and buy the strict minimum but I do lack jackets for now, in the mornings when it’s a little cooler and in the afternoon still warm. My favourites are the cropped elegant jacket you wore in your presentation and the blazer. I think those are so versatile because you’ll be able to wear them with trousers or dresses or skirts even, and add a coat on top for the cooler mornings in October and a thick wool scarf. We are entering my favourite season 🧶🍁🍂 when cool misty mornings are guaranteed and warm afternoons too 🤗 Thank you so much for this video Lydia 😊
Really found this video helpful. I have been trying for years to become a blazer fan, and incorporate it into my social outfits but this helped me realise that I just don't like the style in comparison to other jackets. Thankyou.
Something I have realised I have to spend more time looking for. It's very difficult to find that kind of light, autumnal or spring jacket. You are so right about how much it can change your look and how it needs more attention. Thank you 😊
Same here 😃 yet it’s the same story in autumn and spring, each year 😆 missing those pieces dearly. No more 🤞 💪 and you can wear the same item in autumn🍁 and spring 🌸 which reduces the cost per wear as well 💁♀️
As a mother with a small child I really need a sensible “do it all” kind of a coat. So naturally, I ignored that instinct and purchased the uber cool leather trench 😂 Roll on autumn and leather coats at the school gates 🎉🖤
Such a useful video! It was really helpful how you tailored it to different lifestyles, as a mum with young children who’s not working at moment I’m always looking for ways to look put together without being overdressed. Loving all your new content!
Hi Lydia. I’m so, so happy that I bought a long length beige trench coat- it just goes with all my daytime outfits. I also bought a black leather jacket in a classic style which I’m really happy with too. I also have about 4 different blazers so I’ve obviously been following your advice! I think lighter out wear is the most practical here in Greece as it rarely gets cold enough to wear really thick coats. Mind you, having had a scorching summer we might get a freezing winter!! 💚🧡💛
Another brilliant video. Thank you Lydia. Keeping my eyes open for a cropped jacket. I love the MD bomber jacket but might look for something a bit more classic and lady-like as of my normal outfits are sporty. Always looking forward to your postings with soooo ...many tips to follow. I also refer a lot to your older postings. Thanks a million for all xxx😊❤
Thanks Lydia, struggling to know what to wear at the moment with the uk weather... one minute it's humid, then it's raining, then it's boiling, then it's hailing ... I sent a video of the hail to my family bc they couldn't believe it.
I also bought that collarless grey bomber from Massimo Dutti that you recommended Lydia and it's gorgeous! And those cream Aloha ballet shoes are everything! :)
Lydia ! A HEADS UP for this FALL/WINTER season.. please please PLEASE set your outfit suggestions as just that and not base it around the COAT/JACKET.. that would be considered more of an ACCESSORY as nobody wears a coat indoors only for a short time outdoors ! I think I'm a 💯 sure that most think this way.. it would be much appreciated 😊
I love those jeans on you, rushed out to try them on. But unfortunately they were overwhelming on me as I'm a bit shorter than you. Another really helpful video, thank you! I think for me the bomber is the most suitable and practical for my lifestyle. Though I also want a chic longer statement jacket, something a bit more unusual than a classic trench.
I just ordered a cropped trench from Zara, which I found practical and amazing!!!! I've always loved the look of trenches (Burberry to be exact) but I live in a HOT island year round (Puerto Rico), so I cannot express myself fashion-wise as much as I would love to. Saw this and immediately bought. I guess it will have to do for now 😂
Another great video Lydia I'm looking for a slightly heavier trench I'm in Leeds UK and it's going to be too cold for light trench coats pretty soon so a leather trench is probably going to be the way I go I love the kinda smarter bomber jackets that are around at moment too very informative and easy to follow ❤
Such a great video. I love them all too but the ladylike cardigan would be the piece that I would love in my wardrobe. Have you seen any other brands that have a similar look?
Love these and have most but I’m struggling with packing - 2 week Europe trip and my bf doesnt want us checking a bag. Would be great video for those of us needing tips if you have the time!!
Hi Lydia! 29 yo petite here trying to figure out my style. I love skinny jeans and don't know how to make them fit into my fall closet. Could you give me some advice? 😘
Thank you so much for the video! I’ve been shopping for a cropped jacket for the upcoming season, and this helps me decide on what type I want (it will be the bomber for me 😊) A couple of other options could be included (e.g. a quilted jacket, and an overshirt). But I know you were narrowing it down for us!
Love the first coat but I’ve always called that style a Balmacaan not a trench coat. The trench coat I’m thinking of is belted with a flap at the back, and sometimes the front, to keep out the rain, and sometimes has epaulettes, a bit like the faux leather trench you show. My old one cinches at the wrist and has patch pockets - not sure if the pockets are like a traditional trench or not. Love Balmacaans though. I have three of them. Maybe it’s just a country thing. We call what you call beanies “toques” (also “tuques”) and tights are leggings with feet, made from a thick fabric and not the stockings you call “tights”. I’ve learned that a turtleneck is a polo neck but am not sure what you call what we call a polo neck (those t-shirts Lacoste is famous for) is on your side of the ocean. Even sillier than that at first I mistook you for an Australian. Sorry about that :-)
Yes to calling them Balmacaan. I just didn’t know how to spell it. When she called it a trench, my thought was “No, it’s not!” Trench is a specific style that defines a specific coat.
Ok but i still dont understand when is the season cold enough as to need the long thicker trench/coats like the first and the long grey one (personally i wear them in late september - october - early november) but warm enough as to need a shoe that is open on either side. I never understood this combo. It looks chic for an indoor presentations of an outfit but not so pragmatic for when you go out. Slingback with long trench. Summer shoes with autumn coats. What kind of weather? We are women, we have lower muscle mass to warm ourselves up, most of us struggle with cold feet... I can sustain myself in a t-shirt without the trench even if its a bit cooler, but when its chilly and i have open shoes and cold feet... the long trench/coat wont help no matter how chic i look.
@i: Agree with you and shall also add; since links for the garments are provided and are outer-wear, it would also be helpful if they were also modeled done up.
I agree too, my feet are cold and need coverage specially in Autumn. I only wear open shoes when the weather permits no jacket. To each her own, some people have warm feet. Not me 😅
I’m yet to see the video… but I know it’s going to be very useful!❤❤😊😊 Esp when someone follows a strict capsule wardrobe.. and don’t want to have 10 different jackets! I love your channel for inspiration and I know I will find a couple of right jackets for me! Lydia… could you pls pls do a strong / solid capsule wardrobe video for fall! I know there are lots of trends for the upcoming season and I just can’t invest in them all! ❤❤ Lots of love and thank you for all the inspirational videos and always so on time. You are one of my few influencers that I follow! ❤🤗🤗
Good evening Lydia. Thank you for uploading this video and Lydia. I love you so much xxxx. Will you marry me lol? I love most of these jackets and you've given me some fantastic ideas. I love your channel here. Great videos and great content. Well presented and very well put together. Just like some of your outfits. Could you please do a video on how to style roll neck tops and roll neck jumpers? Also please could you restock that leather maxi skirt that you featured in your last video as I would love to get hold of one. It's the one you did with naked fashion. Also could you make a video about how to style loafers and brogues? Lydia. I think you're awesome and again thank you for this great video. Take care my lovely lady and have a great weekend. All my love best wishes. Pure.
Q: what’s your thought on a top worn under a jacket where the top is longer than the jacket so it shows? I ask because I am of an age 60+ where I am thick waisted and I don’t feel confident tucking in my tops. I’m very self-conscious of my little potbelly so I wear my tops out over my trousers or jeans. But then some of my jackets aren’t long enough to cover the end of the top and I really like that cropped lady like jacket look. Advice would be most welcome
Thanks for the good tips and overview :) I am confused on how to layer and 'categorize' blazers though. Where I live it is colder outside, so a blazer would not be enough as a jacket most of the time. So I wear it inside e.g. at the office. For the way to the office only the blazer is too cold. A jacket on top of a blazer would probably be best, so I can keep the blazer on inside and still be warm on my way. But since a blazer is roomy often, I am not sure what to layer on top. Any advice? :)
I meant to say a coat, sorry 😅 it’s Sunday, my brain is out of office 😉 So I’d add a loose fitted trench over the blazer during cool temperatures, a wool coat for colder weather and a puffer when it’s freezing. You can really make it work with all types, but yes as you said, only if it’s long enough and roomy. I always go up a size with coats to be able to wear blazers or knits underneath ☺️ I did see a mannequin in a window of Ralph Lauren wearing a puffer vest over a blazer and it looked quite decent as well. Have fun with it all 😘
I love the crop jacket & cardigans since I live in warmer climate year round. Thank you for showing the various outer wear that will be stylish this fall. 😊
When u say the names it does not spell right on closed captioning, would help if you would kindly spell designer name when you say the name as u have an extraordinarily thick accent. Thank you
Hi Lydia, love your videos and your style, but those jeans remind me of a cowboy wearing chaps to round up the cattle. Not a bit flattering on your lovely person. Sorry

I love the gold buttons on that cropped jacket. You don't need much jewelry with it, making it so easy to get dressed quickly and look polished.
Really found this video helpful. I have been trying for years to become a blazer fan, and incorporate it into my social outfits but this helped me realise that I just don't like the style in comparison to other jackets. Thankyou.
I'm in AZ, blazers are weather appropriate all fall/winter. Doesn't get too cold in Phoenix. I forgot other places are colder.

I look forward to all your videos. You never disappoint. Thanks for sharing!
Some really great tips in this. Enjoy how you explain the idea behind how/why/when it would work.
Lol I love your name 😅 it can mean look at her or look at hair 😄

It’s wonderful when following advices actually works isn’t it😊 The one I do follow, I am surprised that hey I look stylish 😄 now, it works!
I bought the raincoat too..very happy with the good quality !
My favorites are the buttoned black and white cropped jackets. There so cute. Love them.🥰
This was so helpful! Love the ideas on what to add in to work with what styles you already usually wear

Great video Lydia. Love your recommendations! Do you have any tips for rainy weather? I’m not sure what to wear that looks good and can keep me dry.
Autum capsule wardrobe please 🙏🏻

Hi lydia we love you! can you do a foot wear haul to autumn winter for wide feet if possible 🥰
Great video, Lydia! I love the grey blazer!
I HAVE the gray blazer, and still almost never wear it. It does nothing for my shape, especially being double breasted.
I’m yet to see the video… but I know it’s going to be very useful!❤❤😊😊

We can’t really see the type of jeans you are wearing, wide leg, straight leg slim leg etc?
Hi Lydia, love your videos and your style, but those jeans remind me of a cowboy wearing chaps to round up the cattle. Not a bit flattering on your lovely person. Sorry
A little pricey line up. Could be more affordable. The black leather trench is too much in the face. All black can be a bit much.
Elegance and fake tan doesn’t go well together. It hurts my eyes.
It’s ok to be pale.
You don’t need a carrot looking skin.
Rude or what? Let people live. Not everyone is happy to look like gollum 😂 clearly you do!
I’m trying to figure out how to style different kinds of vests for autumn- both knitwear and outerwear 🦺
