  • Cubans Emotional Reaction to Washington DC - Coming from Communist Cuba where there is a dictatorship, going to Washington DC is a very special trip for us! Watch as Yoel and Mari go to DC, meet congressmen Maria Elvira Salazar and Mario Diaz Balart, get a tour of the capitol building, visit all the DC Momuments, Arlington National Cementary, and the meaning behind all of it for us as Cubans.
    We all deserve freedom.

I grew up in south Florida. In 2nd grade we had drills, hiding under our desks, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I later lived in Germany, and crossed into East Berlin, through Checkpoint Charlie. As an American born and bred, I know the importance of our country, our Constitution, and our freedoms. So glad you are able to witness them, embrace them, and understand their importance. So many Americans don’t. God Bless America! 🇺🇸

When I hear in the video mentioned DC, but corrupt. It sort of dampens it into a political point. Is corruption on one side? Infers some of that and it changes things if the US ends up with one-party rule. Where if one side wins laws get passed to prevent the other ever winning again. In reality it is corruption on both sides and in politics.... there always is. Both sides their extreme end the cause demonizing of each other that has become toxic today.
So for me... this video gives me both pride and fear for this election and I lived thru so many, but social media and the media in general have taken things to so partisan today and feed us biased chosen stories to blame the other side constantly... that it has gone to the desire one side gets crushed forever and a US with only one party rule is as so many have fallen prey.
I always wondered how European nations can have multiple parties vs the US basically 2 with a 3rd so far still cannot win though they can alter who wins in the main 2.
There is a Classic Country song by - Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn - GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN. That song from 1972 already saw America in turmoil coming of the 60s divided, but at least the Vietnam war just ended. THE WORDS OF THE SONG RESONATE TODAY with the same divisions X 10 now.....

There is no 1000% of anything... it's 100% and that's it... and even though I support immagration you are not 100% American... if you were born in Mexico you are a Mexican living in America with the same inalliable rights as a natural born American. And no, the Government doesn't go to work each day with the mindset of how to screw over American's.. they may fight over policies and what laws to pass that they beleive is benefical for the majority of the American people... at least that is what we hired them to do... but today we have half of our Government trying to do their jobs and the other have doing everything humanly possible to hinder their efforts... but in spite of all the drama they have managed to get some pretty darn good bills passed that help... and the other half have managed to get bills past that have caused more harm than good and their endless attempts to destroy our Democracy and our lives just to maintain power over the people is disgraceful to say the least. I've lived through 12 presidential elections since I became old enough to vote and our government has had disagreements and have screwed up plenty...I've been through feast and famine from one president to the next...both sides beleive they are right and for some peoples needs and desire that may be true but as long as American's in general are unwilling to be flexable and accepting with each other it will stay with way.

This made me cry happy tears for them. My father was 20-yr US Air Force. I saw the tole it took on him. To see young people that have never know war, never known famine talk down about the freedom we have. I know it will never happen, but I wish they had to spend time in these countries outside the US for a year. Then, when they come home, they maybe have a different prospective. Each generation seems more and more entitled. I cry for the future. Thank you for showing in the simple adventures, how great we really have it.

Yoel and Mari ,freedom and liberty are something many countries in the world only dream of, we don't realize how fortunate we are to have the rights that we have. The emotions that they feel are important to recognize and understand what they mean for the future and past generations that fought and died for our freedom. Many people today don't remember or respect that they came from places like Cuba and our freedom must be preserved. Yoel and Mari you are doing an amazing and incredible job showing us all that we take for granted. I am glad that you got to experience Washington DC and meet our government representatives and tell your story.

Amazing, I’m so happy that you got to experience the Capital and see Life, Liberty and Freedom. Does exist in America even though the politicians do there best to try and prevent those values.
Yoel’s kind words about those military men n women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. He knew how special that is.
Americans are open to immigrants, they just want them to do it the legal way. Since 99.9% that claim asylum truly don’t have true claims and that puts a huge backlog in the court system for false claims. Maybe if they put some form of penalty for making a false claim they’ll stop. Some meet some of the criteria but not 100%

We elect representatives who will influence legislation and governance. That is a democratic process not required in a pure republic.
