I thought the rolled side was supposed to be facing you and the flat side facing the wall? So if your off center you’ll see a break in the line because the top of the hump breaks up the black line.

Great tip, thanks but don’t you need to put the raised part closer to you so you’re looking down with that height separation? Looks like you have it placed backwards.

I just notice other have made the same comment, just more obvious this way you see it clearly you can do the same in wood laid on top in the front with a line up and over running to rear, front block approximately 1 inch higher.. cheers its a cool 😎 idea so pinched and made one of plywood and 1 inch block 😀 take care all.

All good mate, clever trick BUT the higher part is obviously closer to you instead of the flat part. Then you can see if both lines are straight. Only that way

But I think if you turn the paper around so rolled up part is facing you it's easier to see deviation. Walla 😇😊
