Wow that track was tore up in Turn 1/2!
The track looked way slick.
Yes… Bakersfield stays pretty tacky for the most part… Except when wing sprint cars run on it… It's slicked off, and the cushion was pushed all the way to the fence. It was almost beginning to "lock down". They actually prefer that it's a little bit slick, so they could move around on it. But, on that night, the track "capped over",
I think it’s the best for racing. Real wet and wide open its no passing. This allows sliders and multiple grooves. Times have changed cause these cars are locked down. Look just trust me. Im from papossetown and we know everything. 👀
Shelly is badass this year, can’t wait to see them at Lake Ozark this year.
GREAT WIN !!! for sheldon and team. Only thing that bothers me is his turn four exit on the last lap while leading. He almost had the front end slap the wall again after the right rear hit the cushion.

Yeah really. Schatz just missed the set-up. Bakersfield is a funny track. But, I've never seen the cushion pushed all the way to the fence.

Actually the truck was slicked off quite a bit. The 1/3 mile oval on N.Chester Ave is usually super tacky. Although it does take a beating when winged sprinters run on it...it will "cap over" and get real brutal on tires. That night, the track was slick and shiny from top to bottom, with the cushion all the way up to the fence. It was almost beginning to "lock down"..
thevmanvj yea i think that condition allows for best racing. If they can get it like that but keep it from rubbering up then one groove on the bottom its great. I think this track was good and woulda stayed good for awhile yet. Weather has to cooperate aswell
