Thanks for contacting us. I did some digging but I couldn't find any accurate part lists on the Vienna II Heat N Glo Model. Thanks for the video. Is there a way to figure out diameter and density of gasket if you don't have model info? I have an insert from Lowes but no paperwork or info anymore. All i know is that it was called "summer's heat". Thanks for any help.
Thanks for contacting us. Most Summers Heat models will use a 3/4" or a 5/8" medium/firm density rope gasket for the door. Thanks for contacting us. I have never heard of that or seen that before. Based on our experience we would recommend not getting the gasket wet before applying or at any point for that matter. If you need further help just let us know. Thanks!
@@rodneychapman197 If one is simply wetting down the area where it is going to be cut, I can see that helping with the fray. I would still suggest against soaking the gasket before applying. Water will have an effect on the density of the gasket and it's ability to seal properly to the high temp silicone or cement when installed.
You’re right about it not sticking if it’s wet. I should have been more clear with my statement. Wetting it will keep the fiberglass from making a mess, but if you wet it for sure let it dry throughly before putting adhesive on it. Maybe wetting it would do more harm that good to wet it. I covered my 4-wheeler exhaust with fiberglass just like this and I soaked it in water so the i fiberglass wouldn’t get on me as bad and it worked great!! But. That’s a total different application. Sorry I wasn’t.clear with my previous statement. I’ll be more careful.

Missy, If you have the Ardisam company Castle Serenity model, your door gasket will be a 3/4" round rope that is used. Generally speaking we recommend folks to replace when there is heavy wear, frays, or air gaps. A quick way to check your door gasket seal will be the following. With the stove shut off and cool, stick a dollar bill half in and half out of the door and close the door. Pull on the dollar bill. There should be heavy resistance. Check in multiple spots around the door as some may be tight, but other areas may be loose. If it's loose or has minimal resistance in any area, we recommend replacement. I'm having issues with a Harmon P43 that was in my house when I bought the house 2 years ago. it has always had ignition issues, and I was assuming igniter (I've been running lighter less efficient pellets to light easier). but after watching these tutorials I have begun to think its a gasket issue. I'm not sure if they have ever been replaced. Would it be beneficial to go ahead and replace all gaskets including the ash can door gasket and the burn door glass gasket?
Thanks for contacting us, happy to help. Before replacing the gaskets, I would suggest you check them first. Stick a dollar bill half in and half out on the door. Close the Door. Pull on the dollar bill. Should be heavy resistance. Do this in several areas around the door. Do the same with the ash door. Visually inspect the glass gasket - we shouldn't see any air gaps. Poor sealing gaskets can definitely have an effect on the ignition, but let's make sure by doing the tests first. Here is a video we did specifically on igniters - take a look at this as well. th-cam.com/video/z4wmCc96rVI/w-d-xo.html Happy to help and get you back up to 100% with your P43. Thanks!
i have a p43 for almost 10 years. Mine sometimes has ignition issues too. Remove the small plate with wing nuts. Clean that out really well with a shop vac. Also I cheat sometimes. Before you start the stove I sometimes will rip up in strips some news paper and lay it in the burn pot an toss a handful of pellets on top of the news paper strips. This helps get the pellets going easier since they are much harder to get going vs news paper. Lay it flat and toss a hand full of pellets on top before you turn on the stove. This always helps. IF you want to cheat entirely use a torch it will work just fine if its being stubborn..

Hello, We have a Heat n Glow Vieana II stove and need to replace the gasket. Im just not sure which one I should get as the manual doesn't really give me much information. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for contacting us. I did some digging but I couldn't find any accurate part lists on the Vienna II Heat N Glo Model. Here is the Get in Touch form on Heat N Glo's website - I would suggest contacting them directly to ensure you get accurate info on the correct replacement gasket. Hope that is helpful. Thanks!

You can measure the door groove channel; typically the rope gasket needed will be one size over the groove width. Ex. 3/4" groove, 7/8" gasket. 5/8" groove, 3/4" gasket
For reference here are the two sizes.

We have a 1990 Quadra-Fire 2100 wood stove that is starting to smell like a campfire in the room after use (no visible leakage but noticeable odor.). We could not find a manual for this model online. What size gasket would we use to replace the door as well as the glass gaskets?
Thanks for contacting us. Yes, gaskets will be a good area to start if it's smelling like a campfire when running. You can also get a handheld CO meter to pinpoint any leakage points in the stove or venting. Your 2100 should use a 3/4" Rope Door Gasket - pellethead.com/product/pellethead-replacement-quadra-fire-pelpro-heatilator-heat-n-glo-door-rope-gasket-seal-kit-3-4-x-7/#tab-models_tab
Your 2100 should use the 3/4" wide flat tape style gasket - pellethead.com/product/pellethead-replacement-quadrafire-heatilator-ecochoice-glass-gasket-tape-3-4-x-7/

What about the other rope which is right around the glass ? That’s the one I need help with replacing

Doesn't the foil tape compromise the sealing action of the gasket?
Thanks for the question Jim. We have found a small piece of foil tape used still makes proper seal to the stove body while keeping the ends from fraying. In certain style gasket kits we do include that foil tape. Important we are making sure we get a good seal all the way around and important to check that on a regular basis.
Hello! What gasket kit would I need for QuadraFire 7100 EPA wood fireplace? Thanks!
Hey Laci! Thanks for contacting us. Your Quadrafire 7100 will use a 1/2" diameter rope gasket for the door, and 1/4" diameter rope gasket for the glass. Here are links for reference, any other questions please let us know. Thanks!

If not, you can measure all 4 sides of the door and add a little extra to be safe for length. Measure the groove width where the gasket sit and go one size up. Ex. 1/2" Groove = 5/8" Diameter Gasket.
Any questions please let us know. Thanks for reaching out.

My regency wood stove door seal trough measures 5/8” across but websites I’ve seen say Regency stoves use 7/8” seal rope. What gives? 4:49
Thanks for the message. Generally speaking the rope gasket diameter will be 1 size up from the width of the door groove. If you know your Regency model, we can verify the correct replacement for your stove.

Hey Scott, thanks for the message. Your VistaFlame VF55 will use a 9/16" rope gasket for the fire door and ash pan door. I seen a guy soak the gasket to get it damp before applying. What is the right way?
Thanks for contacting us. I have never heard of that or seen that before. Based on our experience we would recommend not getting the gasket wet before applying or at any point for that matter. If you need further help just let us know. Thanks!
Wetting it keeps the fiberglass from getting all over. Especially when you cut it.
@@rodneychapman197 Thanks Rodney, we greatly appreciate your insight and sharing your experience. Appreciated!
Any rope size info on an Atlanta Homesteader 240dg?
Thanks for contacting us. I did some digging, and saw some various sellers saying the 5/8" rope gasket was correct for the Atlanta Homesteader Models, however I could not find an owners manual to verify if that is correct. If you can, measure the current rope gasket or door groove. Generally the rope will be 1 size up from the groove width - example 1/2" groove typically will use a 5/8" gasket. Keep us posted, happy to help. Here's some different rope gasket options for reference - pellethead.com/?s=rope+gasket
Do you have the gasket for a fireplace x-44-in double door fireplace?
Hey Stephen, do you happen to know the manufacturer and model fireplace you have? Happy to help.
This was a very informative video! What size gasket for a castle serenity pellet stove? And how often should you change it?
Thanks for the comment. Is your model an Ardisam Castle Serenity? Just want to verify that first. Thanks!
Here is a reference of that gasket if needed. pellethead.com/product/pellethead-replacement-ardisam-castle-hps10-serenity-fire-door-rope-gasket/

Here is a video we did specifically on igniters - take a look at this as well. th-cam.com/video/z4wmCc96rVI/w-d-xo.html
Happy to help and get you back up to 100% with your P43. Thanks!
i have a p43 for almost 10 years.
I have a Woodchuck 2800 and I don't know the gasket size for the ash door. The manual just has an obsolete part number
Thanks for contacting us. Does your Ash door have a groove where it uses a round gasket? If so, what is the width of the groove? If it uses a flat tape style gasket, what is the width of it? Happy to help.
@@EarthSense Its a round gasket, but the one someone put in it doesn't let the door seal. You can push as hard as you like, but the rope doesn't give enough to seal the latch side. It measures 5/8ths
so the metal trim on the inside of my wood stove door that holds the gasket in place - has turned to brittle - does anyone know can the metal trim be replaced or should I look into buying new door (which isn’t xheap)

We wouldn't be familiar with propane oven gaskets or installation. If you can find a manual online for your model that can be a good place to start to find the right replacement part number.
