I consider myself a car enthusiast. I’ve always owned cars with RWD bias like an Infiniti G35 and Dodge Charger. However, with a stay at home wife and two children, I got my wife a top of the line pathfinder SL for the family and a Rogue for my commute across state for work. I am pleased with the flatness of the Rogue, the comfort, space, value, and excellent gas mileage. Yes, it does not accelerate like the 300 horsepower cars I’m used to but it’s smooth enough for my day to day commute. I was looking for value when I purchased this vehicle not necessarily fun. I will try to baby the CVT. I have a 2020 model so I am hoping they fixed most issues. The Pathfinder is heavier and feels more luxurious but it’s literally double in price. I am looking forward to getting as much value as I can out of this vehicle. It is larger and cheaper and better looking than a RAV4

Hi Scotty. My Rogue and Altima have the same engines. I have 2016 Rogue with almost 100k miles (purchased it in 2018 at 50k miles from HERTZ) and 2014 Altima with 60k miles (purchased it new). I dont step on the acceleration pedal to the floor and I rarely get to 4,000rpm. In Rogue I have changed oil myself every 10k miles and I used Mobil 1 oil and filter. In Altima, oil was changed by the dealership or Pep Boys but I gave them Mobil 1 oil and filter) every 5,000 miles but couple times every 10k miles (the first oil change was before 1000 miles recommended by manual). This Rogue was manufactured in Japan and Altima in USA. Interestingly, when I start Altima at 60-70 degrees the engine sometimes has irregular shaking and I see that on the TACHOMETER for about 3 minutes until the engine gets warmer). However, when I start Rogue cold, I dont get this issues, the engine runs smooth without jumps in TACHOMETER and when I put the hand on the engine block it does not have that irregular shake). Can any mechanic advise what could be issue. Was my vehicle sabotaged at the services. One thing I noticed that Altima engine bay has lots of sand while the Rogue engine bay is very clean. On the other hand, my sister drove 1998 Altima for 17 years and she did over 250k miles until mechanic told her car needs work with cylinders...
