this album is summer when everyone's inside because it's too freakin hot out except you are a bored teen in your midwestern town and you need to get out and walk those deserted back streets (because you know the unpaved shortcuts) and find your poetry, and then you go home & practice the guitar for a couple decades. as you do
(and it sounds really tempting & kinda romantic even to go home and walk those backstreets again, but it's probably a bad idea because now you're like 35 & people will think you're a criminal (not you Mitch) )
