We were told not to leave the country until our residence cards came as it’d be difficult to get back in.
Im not 100% sure but i think the good Batterys came from the fact that Germany (The Emperor) needed them for the "U-Boot Waffe" he was implementing in the Navy that time so Varta had the order to make them better/more powerfull and smaller in size so they can be used in Submarines. Emperor Willhelm II. loved his Navy so much that he pushed the developement really hard. He wanted an equal counterpart to the British Royal Navy.
That video is great! The footage is so beautiful and I love seeing you exploring and enjoying the nature. I really love watching your videos and I am always looking forward 😊💕 Sorry for my bad English 🙈
Nice video, regarding the boats both versions are let's say true. It started with the hunting part and in the meantime they only use electrical engines to spare the sea (no risks of oil/diesel spills and so on).
Looks wonderful! At the moment I’m sitting inside my car watching while eating dinner on a Rastplatz ! I’m in Bavaria (lower Franconia )until the 10th of July to visit my best friend!
The reason for the electric boats is told by the guy that plays the trumpet, iirc: the water of the Königssee has "Trinkwasserqualität" (means you can drink it).
Generally there’s no function in the settings of the Volkswagen navigation system (European software) to avoid border crossings (which turned out to be a bug in COVID times), only settings to avoid toll roads and Autobahns.
Oh that church with the round roofs down by the lake... My grandma has a wall tapestry of it. I think she bought it when she visited down there. I've never been there but I always recognize it 😅
You not only need passports if you are not a German citizen if you use the Autobahn in Austira, you also need a "Pickerl". Pickerl is a small sticker for your car to show that you paid the fee for using the Austrian Autobahn. It is called Maut. You can buy them at any gas station near the border and you need to buy it before you cross into Austria.
Nice video. Have been to Berchtesgadener Land last summer. Obersee was my favorite. Too bad the kids weren't up for a little more hiking, cuz, imo, the other side of Obersee is the most stunning part (and it has Germany's highest waterfall). If u wanna take another trip to that region, don't forget Jenner (take the cable cars) and the Hintersee.🤩🤩🤩
looks like you picked a cold day for the excursion... I drove From Kitzbuhel, Austria to Fuessen in 1993. I wish I had more time and taken my time to turn left and explore this beautiful area also. Maybe, when I'm able to return to Germany after covid to visit my sister, can we both come tour the sights... But only when it's warmer.

Are you! It’s so beautiful - enjoy your trip!
Love the video! I've been there a few times, and I took a friend from Wales there too. He absolutely loved it! (we had better weather)
Funnily enough, my boss (also American) will take his family (wife and 3 kids) down to Berchtesgaden this weekend! I'll show him your video. 😃
Oh cool about your boss! And thank you!
I love y'all! You're such a wonderful family. Good bless you all.
Thank you! Blessings to you as well. 💖
Another destination you may want to try is the Krimml Wasserfall in Austria.
As a precaution, I carry my passport, residency card, and driver's license anytime Mike and I go on an adventure. Mike suggested that I do this when we first moved here, and it has just become a habit. Great video! I haven't really traveled south yet. We are staying as local as possible right now.
Same here, staying local. Are you also an expat/immigrant here in Germany? Yes we hadn’t received yet our residence cards when we went on this trip. Now we have them so it’d be easier to travel. We were told not to leave the country until our residence cards came as it’d be difficult to get back in.
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife, yes. I am an American expat living in Northern Germany. I am glad you have your cards. It makes everything easier.
He wanted an equal counterpart to the British Royal Navy.
wonderful nature and wonderful video, thanks !
Thank you!
Thank you for showing how beautiful germany is ❤️ love your videos !
That video is great! The footage is so beautiful and I love seeing you exploring and enjoying the nature.
I really love watching your videos and I am always looking forward 😊💕
Sorry for my bad English 🙈
Your English is great! Thank you for the nice comments!
Love your Family 💐
Your kids are so brave well educated
Did you go to the Salzbergwerk Berchtesgaden yet? Don’t miss out on it, your kids will love it!
oh lovely it looks :) I am so missing travel now .. its refreshing to see that its cold as well when we are going thru a huge heat wave now of 40+ c
Oh gosh, are you on the west coast of North America?
Beautiful scenery. Isn’t it?
Nice video, regarding the boats both versions are let's say true. It started with the hunting part and in the meantime they only use electrical engines to spare the sea (no risks of oil/diesel spills and so on).
Oh cool, both are correct!
Looks wonderful! At the moment I’m sitting inside my car watching while eating dinner on a Rastplatz ! I’m in Bavaria (lower Franconia )until the 10th of July to visit my best friend!
Oh wonderful! Franconia is a beautiful area. Enjoy your time with your friend!
Ihr seid nicht kalt, ihr friert. Or as your fellow Bavarians say: 's gfriert euch😋😂😘
The reason for the electric boats is told by the guy that plays the trumpet, iirc: the water of the Königssee has "Trinkwasserqualität" (means you can drink it).
Ah that's great! Keeps it even cleaner.
Willkommen zu Hause!
Generally there’s no function in the settings of the Volkswagen navigation system (European software) to avoid border crossings (which turned out to be a bug in COVID times), only settings to avoid toll roads and Autobahns.
Okay good to know, thank you!
Oh that church with the round roofs down by the lake... My grandma has a wall tapestry of it. I think she bought it when she visited down there. I've never been there but I always recognize it 😅
Oh how special!
Königssee is so so beautiful. It reminded me auf new zealand.
We’d both love to see NZ one day!
Sehr schön gemacht viele Grüße
Yes! We’ve got to go back and stay for a night or two so we can hike to that waterfall!
Grayson's language skills are terrific. Have un at Königsee. I was there when I was about your kid's age - a looooong time ago
Dankeschön!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife You guys inspired me to check out summer holiday options in the Königsee area for later this summer
looks like you picked a cold day for the excursion... I drove From Kitzbuhel, Austria to Fuessen in 1993. I wish I had more time and taken my time to turn left and explore this beautiful area also. Maybe, when I'm able to return to Germany after covid to visit my sister, can we both come tour the sights... But only when it's warmer.
The visuals are stunning, Troll rocks were my favorite part. ❤️🔥
Yeah, toll rocks!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Haha.. Cant disagree there 😍
Cows are udderly awesome. Quite moooooving.
Hahahaha!
What a beautiful lake! Do anyone know if this is a good place to visit in early November?
How tough was the hike? Next month I’m going with my 9m old. And will likely need to carry him.
Sorry to inform you (you might have heard it already) the "Rodelbahn" (Roller Coaster) at Königssee is no more. At least for the time being, the flood has done considerable damage! Lots of love from Lippe.
Yours,
Kevin
See they had the hat pins and walking stick shields at the place towards the end of the video.
Yes! Okay darn, I wish we would’ve bought one now.
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Maybe next time. Perhaps one for each kid. If you go to the same place more than once, maybe the shields one time and the hat pins another. Put them away for when they are older or put them on sticks and hats for the kids.
@@neophytealpha As a kid I had a bracelet and everytime we went somewhere new I got a new charm from that region. I was about the age of your daughter when we started that. I am pretty sure you can still buy little pendants for charm bracelets or necklaces at any of this sightseeing places.
Good that a little bad weather does not discourage you from exploring :D
As the Germans, Swedes, Dutch, Norwegian and Finnish say…There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife 🤣👍
I love Kaiserschmarrn too! Anyway, it was just a shame that you had kind of terrible weather for a visit in June, you have to go again when it is sunny!
Yeah it was a shame. We thought the weather was going to be good but then it changed as we were driving!
