I joined in 2005 when I was 17. I was convinced that IRAQ had WMDs. I deployed. We lost men. It was all bullshit. I grew older and realized how the government took advantage of us and then threw us away. When I got out I was just a number. Replaced by a younger soldier. I was homeless with a needle in my arm. On the run from the cops. I then found Jesus in 2017. Ffw. Now I’m sober 6 years and own a home and I have a great career. No thanks to the Army. But thanks to my vet community. Godbless
I’m glad you are sober and found Christ, but take ownership for the choices you made after getting out and focus on the positive growth of all things. I enlisted as Army Infantry in 2003 and deployed to Baghdad 2003-2004 and then all of 2006. I ETS’d in 2007 and never turned to substance abuse. I’ve had predominantly great experiences with the VA in 5 different states because I look for and expect the good. My son joined the army because of 9/11. He went to West Point and was with Shannon when ISIS hit. It was awful. The deaths of Shannon, Scott, and Jonathan. My son lost part of his face and both eyes. This all makes me so sad and so mad.

My opinion probably wont be a popular, but Iraq was an absolutely necessary war. WMD's in fact were found and recovered and so were the atrocities of Saddam Hussein. Halliburton/KBR and its employees absolutely gave our warfighters the best conditions ever had in any war that was ever fought. The efforts put into the logistics and tradesmen saved countless American soldiers by giving them everything needed for comfort, moral, and tactical advantage. Demonizing KBR and the expatriates who provided every need is ingenuine. 3 men in total from my family were there as expatriates including myself, along with many others as soldiers. I am the only one still alive and Ill be damned if I will let anyone demonize their efforts of going above and beyond to give advantages to our military while taking sniper fire, rockets and motors daily.

In 2006 at Camp Victory on "Signal Mountain/Tower," I remember climbing to the top level & looking out in the vast distances, seeing industrial chimneys not smoking. They were effectively inert at that time. Around November of 2007, a week before we un-assed the A/O back to the States, I climbed the same tower, & saw the same chimneys, as most of them were smoking heavily. I said to myself, "I came here to help, & do good. I see progress smoking right in front of me, where there was no smoke before." Then I did copious quantities of research in my later years, & am 100% ashamed to admit that I wasn't 1 of the "good guys." We deployed American Troops did the best we could, with what we had to work with. Little did we know the true reasons behind our being there. Greed, power, & evil is what our politicians are guilty of. I feel guilty by association, as the part I played was for the good of filling our politicians pockets. I thank God we lost no Troops from our unit, A-178th Infantry, from Chicago. Let us all pray Trump wins, & puts an end to all of the current slaughtering of human life. My opinion probably wont be a popular, but Iraq was an absolutely necessary war. WMD's in fact were found and recovered and so were the atrocities of Saddam Hussein. Halliburton/KBR and its employees absolutely gave our warfighters the best conditions ever had in any war that was ever fought. The efforts put into the logistics and tradesmen saved countless American soldiers by giving them everything needed for comfort, moral, and tactical advantage. Demonizing KBR and the expatriates who provided every need is ingenuine. 3 men in total from my family were there as expatriates including myself, along with many others as soldiers. I am the only one still alive and Ill be damned if I will let anyone demonize their efforts of going above and beyond to give advantages to our military while taking sniper fire, rockets and motors daily.

In 2006 at Camp Victory on "Signal Mountain/Tower," I remember climbing to the top level & looking out in the vast distances, seeing industrial chimneys not smoking. They were effectively inert at that time.
Around November of 2007, a week before we un-assed the A/O back to the States, I climbed the same tower, & saw the same chimneys, as most of them were smoking heavily. I said to myself, "I came here to help, & do good. I see progress smoking right in front of me, where there was no smoke before."
Then I did copious quantities of research in my later years, & am 100% ashamed to admit that I wasn't 1 of the "good guys." We deployed American Troops did the best we could, with what we had to work with. Little did we know the true reasons behind our being there.
Greed, power, & evil is what our politicians are guilty of. I feel guilty by association, as the part I played was for the good of filling our politicians pockets. I thank God we lost no Troops from our unit, A-178th Infantry, from Chicago.
Let us all pray Trump wins, & puts an end to all of the current slaughtering of human life. Biden & his evil cronies shall pay the ultimate price, when their day of Judgement comes.
