    You did a awesome job with what you had available. Movement and vibration makes things move.

    Nice, at 4:45 you certainly raised my eyebrows at your swivel rack. Well done and thanks for sharing.

    Cheap fast way for lights is to get a solar shed light from bunnings and chuck the solar panel on the top of the box and the light inside. Just make sure you get one with an on off switch not motion sensor👌 or rig up a trigger so it turns on when the canopy door opens

    nice one brother, I always wanted to pimp my trailer out but I am finding its better for me to have boxes that i take onto the site so I'm spending less time walking back and forth to the trailer

      It is a practical approach! My other tool box has enough bags and boxes that I can use if my car isn’t parked close enough

    Would love to see a full tour of how you set up the canopy for trades work. Here in the states, we don't set up our trucks with flatbed and canopy like you guys do with UTEs. At best there's an aluminum topper that goes on the factory bed. The only guys setting up the Aussie style UTE canopy are the rich guys building overland rigs. The only options for those canopies is to import one or get one from the only American company building one and you're looking at $30,000-$40,000 USD for the setup. Been wanting to build my own for years.

    That's fantastic Dave! Super efficient. Well done!
    The contrast between American builders such as myself and you guys across the pond is polar opposite. We are obnoxious, and buy these giant job trailers, microwaves, fridges, air conditioning etc etc etc.
    And the smart ones like you guys keep things super simple and efficient.. hahaha. Just another perfect example of united states gluttony 😅😅😂😂😂😂

    The rotating drill storages a good idea but the ball bearings in a caster only working compression so in that configuration you're just spinning around the center stud so you could just use a bolt and washers for an center axle.

    I like it, really love that rotating holder for your drills - But what happens when you go over some bumpy turf?
    For as I go, I've been rolling around working out the back of a holden crewman working as a mobile diesel mechanic & welder - You could probably imagine I have to get pretty creative in how I use that space, sometimes even a simple job as a mechanic can mean 3 dozen tools out and lying in the dirt & grass in some paddock - And when you have to pack up in a hurry it all goes on top of each other, big mess. I would love to trick my ute out like that.

      Thanks! It normally holds them quite well, but on a bumpy ride one or two might fall off. I’ve since added some Velcro straps over the handed to hold them all in place and there’s been no issues since. I could imagine how much dirt will get tossed into your tool boxes. Would be a nightmare to keep clean

    Maybe have the multi tool etc hanging on alternating sides on individual hooks

    hey mate. how did you fix the timber to you toolbox/canopy. i have a tool box. would screwing through poke screws out the back?

    • @DaveDoesCarpentry
      @DaveDoesCarpentry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just screwed into it. The screws poked through the back and I grinded the ends off and siliconed over it. Probably not the neatest finish
