  • We don't ride bikes no more
Or kick a football around the park
Make our way down to the woods
Drinking cans of Dutch Gold in the dark
    Kicking balls over the bridge
Hoping that the road above was free
    Staying up til 6am
Then breakfast rolls down at The RAC
We’d climb the trees up to the heights
Never ever fearing that we'd fall
We'd sneak onto the football pitch
Nods and volleys up in Douglas Hall
    Copying our favourite bands
Rage, Nirvana, Pearl Jam to CDs
Walking for an hour or so
For creole, chips cheese garlic in KCs
    I drove on past today
Saw the bushes where we hid
    And I remembered
    When we were kids
    Early shifts behind the tills
Then pints of Bud and cider at The Inn
We'd take a spin to Nohoval Cove
Jumping off the rock after our swim
    United match in East Village
Then heading into town for drinks at night
    2am at Hillbilly's
Trying not to get into a fight
    I drove on past today
Saw the bushes where we hid
    And I remembered
    When we were kids
It's been so long since we did all those things we loved
Where we belonged and when the days would go on and on
Now we've moved on but all those memories never fade
They've built our story so far
    We drove on past today
Saw the places where we played
And I remembered when we were kids
