    I've been worried about my exam on this for a while now. I think I finally have a clear picture on how to tackle this: 1) Draw pic!! 2) idenfity rates and variables 3) set up equation and differentiate 4) plug and chug :D. Thank you so much algebros!!

    In the triangle example the 2(0.8)(-60) = -96 instead of -72.

    Amazing explanation I understood it perfectly just a scared that it’s a bit easy cuz most of the problems I got in class seemed a lot lot harder.

    im confused as to why for the first question, when you took the derivative of the area, a=l*w became a= l+w

      Not sure if this is what your asking but the reason why a=L*W became dA/dt = dL/dt W + L dW/dt is because of the product rule when you take the derivative. This channel has a separate video specifically on the product rule and the product rule formula. If that’s where you’re confused then that should help. Sorry if this wasn’t helpful or what you were asking but I hope it was.

    For the triangle example why did you write dz/dt for 20?? why not only Z?

    • @TheAlgebros
      @TheAlgebros  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If we said z=20, that would mean the distance between the car and the police is 20 miles. By writing dz/dt = 20, that represents the rate that "z" is changing. In this case, it is changing at a rate of 20 mph.
