Us Elvis die-hards are in desperate need of a re-do of 'Elvis On Tour', which lavishes the same care & attention on the original, as 'Get Back' did for 'Let It Be'.
Baz said later after that "in fact it's going to happen! Elvis fans, IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN!" Argo played the full audio on Elvis Sirius radio yesterday and Baz confirmed it's definitely going to happen!

First heard about this news in October. I have been excited ever since. I really hope that this film or films are are 25% concert and 75% off stage like interviews, hanging with Elvis/friends, Elvis alone doing stuff etc. That is truly what I'm interested in. But I will also take a 50/50 split.

I think the issue with Elvis video is the rights. I heard for audio it’s a simple flat rate but video it’s much harder to work out like with Chuck Berry’s estate. Maybe that’s why they haven’t done as much with the concert footage like the other TTWII concerts.
I may have to take out a loan to get it😂😂 can't wait to see it!
It needs to get done, but I do not care of Baz Luhrmann's films. He was the one that was snubbed at the Oscars, not Elvis. And, Priscilla had a big hand in it.
Hello Mr. Ed. I keep going back and forth on the Elvis movie as to whether I like it or not! First time I saw it, I thought Baz needed his ass kicked. Portrayed Elvis in a bad light! After seeing it 5 times in the theater, my thoughts softened somewhat. Now after watching it on DVD and streaming at least another 5 times or so, I am back to hating it again. Almost as much as that highly acclaimed album: Having Fun On Stage With Elvis! LOL. Where is my shotgun! LOL😂😂😂Either way Luhrman goes, I will watch it or buy it. Thanks for the update!

I have read some comments about it and apparently it is either “I liked it!” Or “I hated it!” As far as getting a “grip!” At the ripe old age of 67, I have seen and read just about everything there is to say about Elvis. I prefer the more upbeat stories, knowing full well that Elvis was a very flawed human being.

Hi Ed, It's always fantastic news when something new Elvis related is found and occasionally we do see parts of a press conference or Elvis being driven to or from an airport in America somewhere. My point is this. Baz Lurhmann has previously confirmed somewhere on You Tube that he would make two separate Elvis movies one concerning That's The Way It Is and one Elvis On Tour. If everything is released now after 50 odd years what else is there left? Maybe just a small amount will be released and over the next 50 years this will trickle down to a little more. I hope that Elvis fans will see everything apart from bad camera angles and blurred images!!
If you've seen Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet (1996), Moulin Rouge (2001), The Great Gatsby (2013) or Elvis (2022), I'm surprised that you're looking forward to a possible Elvis concert film. Luhrmann makes incoherent movies, bereft of any understanding of history. His films resemble feature length MTV videos. An Elvis concert film, assembled by Luhrmann, would be a gigantic scrambled egg.

I assume August release date as we usually get new Elvis's releases each year. Also my friend noted in the background a forth guitarist on TTWII when the camera zooms across the musicians.
Im gonna try not to get too excited just in case but it does give ya the feelgood factor, gets ya juices flowing.

I know i'm greedy but there should be 2 separate films. There was a big change in Elvis from 70 to '72, not sure they should be combined, could be a bit jarring.
We know there is some great footage especially from On Tour where there is mischievous stuff from Elvis with his entourage. Hopefully Baz will put together the ultimate concert footage to show everyone what a fantastic performer Elvis truly was.
The thing is that they didn’t just find all of the footage like Baz claims conveniently in a labelled box…that is just another one of his bogus attention seeking things - it had already been located with much of it apparently already transferred digitally. My understanding is that the intention is to combine the footage (inc unreleased stuff) from both TTWII and EOT footage and turn it into a new documentary. I think if it goes ahead, we will not see it until 2027 because Sony and EPE and whoever inc WB will want to maximise the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ death.

I really hope I’m wrong but I’ve got a feeling we will be hanging on for ages, then it will be something for the general public and not die hard fans… we want unreleased complete shows and I think it will be the talking heads and a few songs in between with just enough unreleased material to keep us interested

I doubt you will get unreleased "complete shows" because from memory, they did not film complete shows for TTWII or On Tour. Such a release needs to appeal to a really big market outside of the Elvis fanbase so it’ll be presented as a best of documentary telling the story of Elvis in Vegas and on the road.

Maybe Baz sees this as one big extended film: the first 3 comeback years from August 1969-August 1972 ? I don’t think it will be every performance of every concert, but maybe just a new documentary film (episodes, like “Get Back”?) spanning the two periods of filming incl certain new performances/backstage scenes etc. Although that’s fine by me, I would really love to see every concert and every other piece of off-stage film footage that is available, put out, all in pristine picture and sound, as bonus content. But I don’t think we’ll ever seen all of that.
