I miss that self-deprecating sense of humor. I was lucky enough to meet him in 2008 in New Orleans. TON played the House of Blues (Jäegermeister tour, IIRC) and Pete was hanging out in a sports bar across the way. My friends had gone in to use the bathroom before getting in line to get in, and Pete noticed my friend’s rare concert tee and struck up a conversation. I was outside waiting on them when they called me to tell me they were in the bar talking to Pete. When I called bullshit, they handed the phone to him and there came that voice. I nearly threw the phone down from the shock! My friend and I hurried across the street to the bar and we all got to sit and talk with Pete for awhile. We got a photo with him and I just remember him being warm and witty and GOD, so tall. Watching these old interviews just brings the memories flooding back. Miss you, big guy. 💚🖤
People probably think Josh saying “I don’t like music” is an odd response, but he actually stopped playing music all together and became an EMT if I’m not mistaken.
There's a hilariois irony to the fact that his blatant lie wrapped in sarcasm flew right over your head as if thrown like a piece of airdried salami by a furious boogersugar-fueled Kenny from a catering table at a 4-band C-package tour stop. Since I never had the opportunity to know him, it's just something that would make me really happy ❤ I always loved this interview, didn't know you were the interviewer
@Red Is A Girl's Bestfriend how did you see this video/interview before? Were you in the Bay Area in the 90s? Where did you see it? I never posted it to a video channel. The entire video has not been shared by me prior to February 2023. To answer your question, I don't recall a scent on Peter. I know that I would have remembered if there was something memorable about his scent. I have been close to other performers who wear very distinct, expensive cologne. David Bowie and Simon Le Bon are two I remember well. Simon's cologne was on me after our photo together the 2nd time I met him. Energy-wise, Peter was just "on" but he was grounded, too. He's completely different from putting on an act on the stage as the singer/bassist to putting on an act in a small room talking to one person. It was still an act and having seen them live at least 5 times before meeting them, I should have expected this schtick -- not caring what anyone thinks. It just worked against my traditional intentions to help them shine. He could see that, and I became slightly more at ease when he stopped trying to control the schtick. It went smoother after I got into the details. He treated the interview process with respect and he could have said, "This is over. It's not working," any time.
I'm sorry, I think I confused this interview with another one he did for the After Dark documentary. It was also at night, he was wearing an outfit similar to this one, and he was lying on the lawn. I thought it was the same interview but I've realized it's not. Anyway, it was one of the best interviews I've seen from Peter, you did a good job, and I really appreciate you giving us the opportunity to see it. Sorry for all the questions I asked, but for me it's very important to know what he was like. Thank you for your willingness to answer me. This video goes to my favorites list
@Red Is A Girl's Bestfriend I can see the confusion. That documentary likely captured the footage within a year of my interview while T.O.N. were promoting Bloody Kisses. Peter looks very close to how he looked in 1994.
Yeah, he looked so damn fine. He had charisma, talent and he had such an unique energy, you almost lose yourself in it. What a man, there's no other like him ❤️
Pete was the real deal, although he was a tortured soul he expressed it as sonic therapy through his music and rumor has it he found Jesus in the end so if that is true I’d like to meet him in heaven someday, I saw them 3 times, first on the October rust tour in 97, second at ozzfest 97 and his final days in 2009 or so, he looked so bad on that last tour I prefer not to remember him like that, R.I.P. green man
@swagmeister I personally preferred the phrase "taking one's own life" because I thought of the word "suicide" as nondescriptive. I couldn't even say "suicide" when I was that close to Peter. "Taking one's own life" resonated with me more at that moment. I respected Peter for being so candid every moment he answered. He never for one second wanted to just get it over with, the interview. I think we connected without talking about the emotional despair he experienced that brought him to that dark place. When I saw T.O.N. open for Nine Inch Nails about a month later, I talked with Josh about that moment. He said that Peter would have shown me the scars on his wrists if I asked to see them. He has no shame over what he did. He learned from it.

Hey from Jersey Philly friend 🤘😎
I'd be stuttering talking to them fine as foos too 🤤🤣😭
And Peter would laugh in your face if you chose to use such regressive idiocy as "fine as(s) foos" around him.
There is no excuse.
You will never feel Peter's Steele 🤣🤣 thirsting for Peter won't change a thing
@@chrisscanlon3717you’re replying to every comment mad because people think hes hot, go get some bitches
Peter is saying some pretty dark shit here - suicide is the ultimate act of heroism? - glad he changed his mind later

Damn, Peter just looks incredible here. Genius band (though don't mistake lack of talent).
Beautiful man. Great interview girlfriend.❤️🌍
