- A Texas A&M Women's Basketball Coach is facing criticism after social media drew questions surrounding whether or not her game-day attire was "appropriate."
After posting this game day outfit, Player Development Coach and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator Sydney Carter has been the target of ridiculous and frankly unwarranted questions.
Justin Harris apparently had an issue with Syndey's outfit, posing the question, "Is this appropriate."
His question sparked a debate about the former National Champion's choice of attire. Some people even said she was a distraction on the court, adding that it's not her job to " look good."
But it never ends in negativity, right? Since then, the post has gained over 77-thousand likes, and Carter has received several positive messages to cancel out all the hate.

Well first they were honoring breast cancer , so i dont know if she wears alot of different things normally, but this was for a cause. The girls have some pink on as well. It wasn’t the color really it was the tightness and material ….. like it was a going out outfit to them .coaches usually don’t dress not even an inkling like she did on the sideline.

It’s not even about femininity. It’s about women should be able to wear what ever we want without someone always judging. Whether that’s SWEAT PANTS or a SKIRT. What we wear doesn’t make us any more or less feminine, and it doesn’t define us! Moral of the story: People should focus more on our intelligence and what we bring to the table, not our clothing!

And I wasn’t talking about women in the workplace, I meant in general women should be able to wear what we want without someone always complaining about it being too “sexy” or too “tight” or not “feminine” enough. It’s a headache at this point. This never happens to men.

We black women have had enough - he would not ask if she was white. Some men have a problem with us no matter what we do. She is appropriately dressed and is working. Perhaps they want her in a bonnet and jogging set (they would still complain); let the woman do her job in peace instead of coming to answer for what outfit she is wearing what about talking about her job/career.

She was correct about the women acting like dudes and the coaches dressing like dudes that “we would watch if y’all dressed and act like women” - those people were lying and they are freaking idiots. She is very well dressed and I appreciate her confidence in not only her dress, her dedication to Texas A&M University and she’s a damn good coach. Keep Rocking Your Way!!!
I think she looks good and I like that women coaches are dressing more lady like and feel comfortable with themselves. Keep being true to yourself and keep loving who you’re and don’t let anyone try to shake your faith or try to intimidate your strong strength. This young, beautiful and accomplished sister has nothing to justify!!! As long as she’s doing her job, what she wears is of no consequence. She is talented, successful and extremely intelligent; this is so intimidating to those not even comfortable in their own skin. My advice to the young lady is keep on doing what you do and ignore the ignorant and the haters. They simply fear what they can’t understand or duplicate!!!

I was never shamed but always being picked apart was no fun either. My hair, is it mine, my hips and behind are the real, my lashed are the fake.said to go in on the side...learned that mean I have a waste line. Strangers, family, men and straight women. Comments comments comments it makes you sick. I graciously acknowledge any and most questions. Yes I ran into jealousy too. Im still getting picked apart. Im 62 years old in my profile picture. It just gets so. tiring

The school makes the rules about that, not you or anyone else for that matter. If her breast were hanging out and a dress cut up to her panties, then I could understand the comment, but if you don't get this was an attack on her body shape, you're part of the problem. Cheryl walking around looking like a floating hanger was unprofessional to me because it looked sloppy as hell (I'm sure she made enough money to buy suits that were tailored), but no one said anything about that. It's only when black women with curves don't cover up, ya'll have a problem.
