- In the Mediterranean island of Crete, Maria heads to the cemetery every Friday to tend her beloved husband's grave. When the bus that picks her up breaks down, she will be forced to spend the night among the tombstones.

Maybe she didn't need those things any more, just like continuity wasn't needed at that point -- ahem.
She put them back in her bag. In animation, the artist can decide not to show her picking them up. Instead, they use editing and specific shots to imply she put them back. When she returns to the spot, the glasses and knitting are gone, indicating to the audience that she put them back in her bag.
It's beautiful. I love the ending. I'm sad that she's all alone though. My mother in law is the same. Visits her husband every three days with out fail. Thank you for sharing this.😊
