The reviewers are responsible of going through the code and provide the feedback efficiently. Also code changes if not trivial should required example code or suggestion from the reviewers. Otherwise we are letting jerks sabotage everyone’s work.
Quitting is the right decision. When this PR-brain-fock happens there's a disconnect between business, revenue, money flow, etc and the team(s). Never ends well! Sometimes it takes a different shape, like never ending talks about architecture, tools, libs. Nothing gets done eventually.
Yeah I'm mostly just being a hater. 50% of the nits are very deserved but I think people can go overboard sometimes just so that in the event anyone asks it looks like they reviewed the code thoroughly
