@@YAMA-y9p yes. I know it for sure. And she does not practice from beginning to end, but different bits of the piece. Sometimes, she practices bits of 2 different pieces... very slow, the she play "a tempo".
I never expected to hear Martha practicing slowly. I get what she’s going for. She’s checking how well the piano can voice chords. She’s exaggerating the top notes to make sure they come out. Fascinating video. Thanks for posting it. She can play at any tempo. It’s all about what the piano can do under her fingers.
😂 and how you expect her practicing; always at full speed including when warming up? And not working any details out ever, just however it turns out or what can gather from doing it years ago...
@@mpzeng she’s the kind of pianist who doesn’t need to practice slowly. She’s literally played this concerto probably a thousand times. She’s only getting used to the piano and testing what it can do. She could easily wake up in the middle of the night and play this piece half asleep. Kissin has the same ability and reliable memory. Not many pianists do.
@@danielgloverpiano7693 Argerich, Kissin, and Wang are all superhuman in that regard. I wouldn't be surprised if they could sightread Feux Follet or something like that haha, they're beyond what most pianists can even fathom.
C'est extrêmement rare de la voir travailler ! Ce document est donc très intéressant. En fait elle travaille énormément, beaucoup plus qu'elle ne le dit. Elle est donc géniale et... bosseuse !
Wait ..she’s actually a fellow human who practices slowly !!???😮😇 what a treasure of a video… thank you❤❤❤❤ what a gift she is to us!
Yes. She practices very slow, even the pieces she plays for decades.
@@katbullarHi! I'm very curious about this; do you know it for sure?

@@terranbricklin I agree with you. I think Kissin is actually autistic and this kind of freak memory comes with it!

Yes she’s extremely busy
When she starts the striding part you know it’s Prokofiev just from the sound of it
It sounds so different without the orchestra
she is playing the solo part different here
@@daniels1633I thought so it sounded so odd but I really like it
Gives me chills. L
Behind the scenes with Martha!!
