I have a spot. Got it when there was a one day sale about 2 months ago for $104. I was constantly hitting the wrong buttons and messing up my traditional AM/FM radio alarm clock changing the preset station to wake to. Then I couldn't remember how to fix the setting so had to find a manual online. It was frustrating. With the spot, its all my voice. No buttons to screw up settings. The sound is quite acceptable. Much better than the dot. I'm very happy with it.

Don't forget that Echo Spot can not only display: 1) What is on your calendar, 2) What is on Alexa Shopping list and 3) Amazon Cloud cameras, but calendar events automatically pop up as reminders. At 1 Echo Spot at $129 (regular price) or 3 Echo Dots at $39/ea, I would probably go with 3 Echo Dots. That said, I already had 2 Echo Dots and picked up the 1st gen Echo Show for $129 (this was after I played around with the Echo Dots to understand how *I* use them - btw, getting the Amazon Cloud camera pushed me to get the Echo Show).

I have this exact one that you were showing. I would love to see them do an updated version with edge to edge screen, and no bezels. The one thing I notice on all these videos that talk about the spot is when they’re describing it they all forget to mention the little square indentation on the bottom. That is for stand that you can buy separately fourth. And if you get the stand, it looks so much better. But I’ve had two of these. I’m on my second one and I just bought it recently still sealed in this box for $50 from eBay. For what it is I think it’s worth it. If you want something to sit by your bed, or on the edge of your desk to play music really low and have a clock to look at then This thing will fit the bill. I think in 2023 it is still worth it. But as I said, I would love to see a new version of us come out with the edge to edge screen and a better speaker and maybe have a few more microphones on top. Beyond that not too bad. And of course in 2023 there’s no reason why this display couldn’t be a 1080 P, or even a 4K
I think there is a market for the echo spot. The commercial with the grandma nailed it. She is lonely and every Left after the holidays but later gets a video call on the echo dot, now she doesn’t feel so alone :) soo many other uses. I think it’s a good idea!!
Ragingsilver I know, I hope they have a fabric Feeling on the new one like the Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Plus (2) etc. And they have smaller bezels, better speakers & bigger screen. (Maybe 4” or 3.5”) Also with the 4 buttons instead of 3 (Volume up and down, mute & the Alexa button if saying “alexa” isn’t working) I’d say if they upgrade everything, I think they should have the price at £99-£129. If they go any higher then it wouldn’t be worth it

Important question...can the spot be preset for different alarms on different days like my iPhone. For example, on Mondays I like to wake at 7 am but Tues I wake at 630 etc. can this be set once for an entire week and have it renew each week. A response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Anyone has experience the display flickering issue here? Seems like Amazon has stopped this product, can anyone confirm any firmware updates for the SPOT? Actually I like the design, but in doubt of the product quality and software/firmware update.
It looks so cool. What i like best is that you can video call other echo spots or ones tbag have video calling. I dont really care for alarms and commands unless i can talk to alexa.
Uh you totally omitted that it can be used with smart home devices and is a great way to add coverage throughout your home I can view my nest doorbell and other cameras, control my nest thermostat. Control my appliances connected to smart switches, my HUE lights....... Amateur hour review!!!

I love my echo spot. Thinking of getting at least one more and one for a family member so we can vid-chat. My only hangup isn’t the spot, but the echo backend. To hear the music I want I have to be too specific. If I just ask for 60’s music, I always get the Beattles. Which is 60’s but only one chapter. And if you ask for 70’s, you are going to get John Denver “Country Roads” first up. But the echo spot is great.

The shape is such a drawback. If they had gone for a Ford logo type stretched out circle they could have made so much more use of the screen size and it would still have had a nice clock look to it.

Personally I think it's a flop the quality of picture that you want to take with it is garbage and Alexa is not that smart she doesn't respond to intelligent questions she just knows the basics that is all related with Amazon for instance I asked her to play some Gypsy Hungarian music she's not to awear she's.... pas assez sophistiqué pour moi ....... it would be nice to have a sensor on it and to be able to watch your home from your phone like an app that links directly to your home Echo spot anyhow you are all going to become rich because of me the story of my life only God is my witness which God is in me right LOL
