I am selling my little boat and took the fish finder off of it and put it on the kayak. I wouldn’t have chosen to buy a helix 10 for my kayak. Overkill for sure. But I can’t say it doesn’t have its perks. Haha.
I have never been concerned about flipping over or anything. However, when the waves are anything notable I can’t say I wouldn’t benefit from a longer hull. I get waves over the front, gets me a bit wet after awhile. Would also help with just keeping the gear from hard ups and downs. All that to say I wouldn’t trade for a longer yak. Transportation and weight benefits are worth any handicaps in my opinion.
You have better electronics than i do on my 17' boat!

How do you feel with the shorter hull in chop? Looking to upgrade from my field and stream 120 homebrew. Been told need 12'+.
