I can't thank you enough. For YEARS I've been dealing with chronic pain, fatigue that knocks me on my butt during the day and then I can't sleep at night no matter what - and the lasting effects of years of being a police officer who worked nights - all of this leads to a miserable time of not enough quality sleep. Until I found you. I seriously can't even tell you how much you've saved me on prescriptions (that either knocked me unconscious for 16+ hours at a time, but I never felt well-rested anyway or just flat out didn't work) - and now I can FINALLY get some decent sleep. When I wake back up in the middle of the night (which I still do, but much less frequently)- I just click "play" on another video, and in minutes, I'm back out - naturally. No medication, no leftover drugged-out feeling from it. I thank you, and more importantly, my three year old (almost 4) thanks you - because he has his mom back. I can never snap my fingers and make my EDS go away - but at least I'm getting normal rest, and EVERYTHING else is so much easier to deal with. You rock, Ally. As soon as my disability goes through, I'll be joining your patreon - hell - with what you've saved me on prescriptions, you DESERVE some income from it! I sincerely wish you and your son all the best, and thank you from all of us in the chronic-illness category who finally have a way to get back to some semblance of normalcy!
K Evans That's cool that it helps so much. If you are still waking up in the middle of the night, may I suggest using the site InfiniteLooper to put a video of your choosing or section thereof on perpetual loop. Then maybe you won't wake, but if you still do you do not need to get up and start another video. Personally I find her beach cabana video particularly good for this purpose. It starts and ends with soft ocean sounds which makes the loop almost seamless when I make it start after her intro tone and end before the outro that she uses. :-)
Ally... you are the cure for my horrible insomnia. I am so lucky to watch these videos of you and I thank you for everything you've been working on with your youtube channel! I love you♡♡♡
Ally I absolutely LOVED this video :D I never knew that candle tapping sounds are a trigger for me, thank you for discovering it for me :) And I used to play with a similar wooden "calculator" (haha) as a kid, it was so much fun to move these blocks back and forth :)) thank you for a wonderful and very informative video. ♥
***** your video with the jenga blocks was triggering one of the strongest tingles I've ever had, and when you're counting each of them.. its just so GOOD. You should do one of those again!
Maria, I love that I could help you discover a new trigger!! I owe you more than just one, though, for all the triggers you've helped me discover, so I better get to work! ;) Thank you for your kind words and for always being so supportive, you're amazing
+ASMRrequests Hi ally I just discovered your videos about two weeks ago my mom has trouble sleeping so I've suggested them to her God bless your videos are really neat I always look forward to seeing what to find
Another interesting fact about the candle by the hour, it is also sometimes called a courting candle. Fathers would allow their daughters suitors to stay with their daughter until the candle burned out. Great job with the video by the way. You always do a brilliant job with these.
Insomnia, anxiety, depression and mood swings! You help me through these rough patches and constantly make me smile! :) although you're not aware of it, thank you for helping me through all of this! Much British love 😘❤
This was my very first ASMR video. I was researching Candle by the Hour and came across this video. I thought wtfffffff is thisssssss!!!!???? Then I went down the rabbit hole. Here I am, 4 years later always finding a way to slide ASMR into a conversation lol
Lots of people in the comments clearly not understanding this is an ASMR channel.... Enough of the nasty comments, from an asmr perspective, this is a fab video 💛
It's not that I don't enjoy role-plays, but I'm it seems that every other ASMR channel does them. What you do with the Thrifty and Time-Travel videos is so creative and unique.
I love the way you make the objects you find at the thrift store sound so interesting; one can tell that you really like the items and bargains you get. I think the time travel tingles are my favorite. I love the interesting facts and the way you tell the story about whatever blast from the past you're talking about. You're the best!
Always been a huge fan of the thrifty thursdays, am beyond relieved that they havent been extinguished entirely. As for time constraints, do as you please; we are just glad youre here, but thanks for listening to the fans as much as you do.
Wait, there's an abacus in this vid? I don't think I've ever stayed awake that long. 😴 This and the microdermabrasion scrub tutorial are so tingly for me! Tapping on dense glass is one of my biggest triggers. Thank you for the time and energy you pour into this, Ally.
A friend of mine told me about your channel and I am already a little bit addicted to you. It's so relaxing to watch and listen to you. I'm glad that you're there. Thank you for what you're doing!
Wow!! I’m back to watching this video after a few years! This was the first ASMR video I watched after watching an Abc news story on ASMR. Thanks for being the one to get me into watching or.. listening to this concept as it’s really helped me!!
I always love the moment when you hold up your 3 fingers and wiggle them and say, "There are 3 basic rules that I have to follow..." Such a great Thrifty trademark catchphrase!
Flickering flame was DEFINITELY a good trigger for me. Thanks so much for this, and for what you do in general. So relaxing after a hectic day; such a boon to my life. You've gotten me through some crazy times, even thought I only discovered your work relatively recently! On top of the ASMR fun, you're also just one of the best/most prolific content producers I know of. It's inspiring.
Your little boy is at that age where he's beginning to show an interest in numbers and counting? I'm 35 and I still haven't reached that age yet... I guess I'm a little bit behind, lol. All joking aside, your boy is very lucky... I bet your bedtime stories are the best...he's probably the most relaxed, well-rested kid on the planet! :-)
Hi ally:) I just want to say that this has to be one of the greatest classics you've made. and you are a amazing ASMRtist. I really don't know if you will see this or not (since this is sort of a old video and all)...but if there's any chance that you do, please please please! Consider bringing back Time Travel Tingles and Thrifty Tingles. Honestly that used to be my most favorite part of your channel (and I'm sure others to) and if you brought it back to your channel that would honestly get me back almost everyday just to even re watch one until there's another haha. But please do consider ally:) and please continue doing what your doing!❤️
Love you so much! You're one of the greatest ASMRtists of all time. I just wanted to take the time and thank you for all the hard work and dedication. And congrats to reaching 100,000 subscribers! You truly deserved it and then some. ❤️
Lauren, this comment made my day. Thank you so much for such kind words - I wouldn't be doing any of this if it weren't for the awesome people like you watching and commenting, so thank YOU. :)
ASMRrequests Seriously, Ally... with your voice and your face, every video always has big-time tingles going for it. But you pick neat subjects/ role pl;ays and just make it all the better. I dub you Queen O' the Tingles just as I pronounce Ephemeral Rift King O' the Tingles!
you are one of the first asmr artists i discovered and after that i just haven't found anything better. i love all your ideas and just enjoy watching your vids so much. thank you so much ally
This was also known as a Courting Candle. When a young man was courting a young woman and was visiting at her house, her parents would light the candle, (choosing various lengths of the candle), and when the candle met the clip and went out, it was time for him to go home!
i believe that with those mics, if you made just a whole video focused on the binaural up-close whispering/speaking you would officially have the best youtube channel ever! either way i still think you're amazing, ally :) thanks for all your vids
Somehow i find myself checking out if you posted something new about 3 times a day.. I don't really get tingles (only slightly sometimes) but I listen to you talking while i am gaming. It makes me feel better :) Thank you ;D
I honestly think that ASMR was created by whatever higher power or god is up there as an answered prayer to the ones who suffer from afflictions, physically/mentally.
though i have enjoyed other ASMR, THIS is STILL and will always be, for all time, the BEST ASMR video ever! Re-awakened the asmr i used to experience ALL the time when i was little -- back when i had no idea it had a name, or whether or not anyone else ever experienced it... p.s. naming it ASMR i suspect is limiting something... these tinges are the same or are related to the feeling you get when a sort of 'deja vu" comes on where you can see into the near future events before they unfold...
Very nice voice, adorable braided blond hair, a cute Kermit shirt, a whispering and blowing beauty in the middle of that. What's not to love about this setting? Thank you dear Ally!
i must say my favorite video you've done was your role-play with salmon, i would love to see more with that character in them. Maybe in a different setting, whatever you do it will be great, im sure.
This might seem like a suggestion out of left field, but I'd love for you to do a video on your music taste (i.e. favorite genres, bands, artists, songs, albums...) I'd love hear you talk about music!
I enjoy your videos very much! I'm stuck away from the family tonight in Swindon, England, due to a late evening working so was happy to see the new video!
Your videos are SO awesome! I'm so happy when you post a new one!! How do you do ASMR SO well? You're just SOOO good at it. Thanks for all the hard work! :D
Thank you thank you thank you for not changing the format!! The q-tip sounds were super tingly :) was wondering if sometime you could show us how you pull the Candle by the Hour up through the clamp? I've never seen anything like that before. Thank you Ally for another great thrifty Thursday (I know it's not Thursday but I will always call it that no matter what day it comes out on) these are my favorite videos that you do!!
Love your videos Ally I watch one everynight to relax me before bed. I think it would be really cool if you did a few talking about space such as planets and galaxies etc. Much love from the UK ps congrats on 100K subscribers :)
Wow 102 thousand suscribers that is amazing i did not rralized that until now that is a blesing cause u do so much for us thanks alot for ehat u do u do an amazing job :0)

Excellent video Alley Cat thanks again! I love all of your work.
I love your channel so very much. Your videos help me tremendously. Thank you. Is there any chance you could do some more in a slightly more subdued light like you used too? I find the dimmer lit videos a bit more relaxing when watching before bed. Also, have you ever thought about doing some Guided Meditation ones? I find being taken on a journey really comforting when having an anxiety attack. Sorry I'll stop rambling on now! Thank you Ally xx
I keep coming back to this video in particular because the sound of your nails on that wax is one of my absolute favorites of your whole channel
Saaaaaaame.

my first ever asmr video I watched back in 2014, still love it, thanks for introducing me asmr world

its so awesome to see this I've loved both of your guys videos for a long time

You said this 6 whole years ago. Time flies, eh?
Blowing on the candle, most definitely a trigger. Wow! My head felt so tight and tingly, thanks!
I love the way you make the objects you find at the thrift store sound so interesting; one can tell that you really like the items and bargains you get. I love the candle noises in this! Tapping has a huge impact on me
I forgot how much I love thrifty thursdays, thrifty tingles and tutorial tingles. Time to revisit the classics
A friend of mine told me about your channel and I am already a little bit addicted to you. It's so relaxing to watch and listen to you. I'm glad that you're there. Thank you for what you're doing!

I am so glad that you decided to keep the thrifty thursday format, they have always been my favourite videos
Thank you for keeping this format!! Relieved that it's still here, even if it will be a longer wait between videos.
Although I adore your Role-plays, the newly titled Thrifty Tingles and Tutorial Tingles are my fav :)
I'm so happy that you like them, it's very encouraging! :D
Flickering flame was DEFINITELY a good trigger for me.

this is one of my favorite videos of yours! i would definitely sell my soul for a whole video of solving problems on the abacus.
Thank you so much for not making thrifty tingles and role play one video!! I absolutely love the thrifty videos, thanks for posting

She is not one of the best SHE IS THE BEST OK!!!
Best voice in all of TH-cam. :-*
Thank you, Marc! That is very high praise!

you are one of the first asmr artists i discovered and after that i just haven't found anything better. i love all your ideas and just enjoy watching your vids so much. thank you so much ally
I really love your channel!!
And the candle tapping sounds are so relaxing.
Thank you for this video.
You have a son?! How on earth do you get the time and peace and quiet to make such impressive videos! You are an inspiration!
Love it when you rub your hands on wooden objects it triggers the tingles
I really enjoy all these new ideas for videos! It keeps the channel interesting :) Ally, you are truly wonderful - thank you for existing
I'm so glad you're enjoying the channel, and thank you so much for those sweet words. Thank YOU for existing!! ^_^
I'm so happy you kept the format! I love your roleplays, but I also like the more relaxed, real form of this. Also love your shirt!!
I loved the video - thanks! Interesting finds, too - I've never seen a candle quite like that before. Tingles and education, awesome.
I really miss thrifty thursday...so excited!
That blowing into the microphone was amazing! I love that trigger. More of that if you can please!
Love the idea to mesh these together. This one was very nice, especially the whole bit with the candle
This was also known as a Courting Candle. When a young man was courting a young woman and was visiting at her house, her parents would light the candle, (choosing various lengths of the candle), and when the candle met the clip and went out, it was time for him to go home!
How weird! I got crazy tingles from the candle flickering. One of my favorite videos.
i believe that with those mics, if you made just a whole video focused on the binaural up-close whispering/speaking you would officially have the best youtube channel ever! either way i still think you're amazing, ally :) thanks for all your vids
Oh I love the abacus, my grandfather used one when I was a child. I remember the sounds...wonderful memories. Thank you ♥
Ally I enjoy your channel. Watching and listening to you talk about the Wrap around candle and Abacus was so relaxing! Thank you. Phil
Your voice is the best helps me unwind at the end of the day love your videos !!!!!!
I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all of your videos, you really do put in a lot of effort.
So glad to have this back! Love everything about you channel, so happy its in my life to help me in many ways x
Somehow i find myself checking out if you posted something new about 3 times a day.. I don't really get tingles (only slightly sometimes) but I listen to you talking while i am gaming. It makes me feel better :) Thank you ;D
wow these videos are amazing, i recently found out about these type of videos on youtube, didnt know people did these. and im so glad i found them.
I still cannot make it past the candle without falling asleep thank you ally!
I honestly think that ASMR was created by whatever higher power or god is up there as an answered prayer to the ones who suffer from afflictions, physically/mentally.
Really love the candle by the hour. Just might have to get one of those now.
YAY!! so happy you didn't change the original thrifty Thursday!!! Thank you
though i have enjoyed other ASMR, THIS is STILL and will always be, for all time, the BEST ASMR video ever! Re-awakened the asmr i used to experience ALL the time when i was little -- back when i had no idea it had a name, or whether or not anyone else ever experienced it...

I love this! the sounds of the abacus were heavenly. thanks Ally! your hair in this video is adorable, by the way!
Once again you hit it out of the park. Always glad to see a new video out. Thanks for all your hard work.
Very nice voice, adorable braided blond hair, a cute Kermit shirt, a whispering and blowing beauty in the middle of that. What's not to love about this setting? Thank you dear Ally!
Love it when you do binurial sounds and kerp up the good work
I am so happy thrifty is back! You are my favorite asmrer. Keep up the amazing work.
With love from Florida,
maz.
i must say my favorite video you've done was your role-play with salmon, i would love to see more with that character in them. Maybe in a different setting, whatever you do it will be great, im sure.
Man I miss these videos, keep coming back to this one!
your videos one of reasons that help me a lot to fight insomnia...............thank you very much
That's a beautiful abacus, and really interesting, quirky candle. Love them both, and your vids as usual. Excellent, lovely tingles, thanks. !
OMG please do more of the closeup binaural whispers, so good!
Glad you enjoyed them! ^_^
Wow!I never knew Ally had a child. How sweet!
This might seem like a suggestion out of left field, but I'd love for you to do a video on your music taste (i.e. favorite genres, bands, artists, songs, albums...)
I'd love hear you talk about music!
Not sure how i found this video but i am glad i did. I watch it almost daily. I dont understand how this works but it just does. Thank you.
because it's a reminder of when someone whispers in your ear... and it tickles
The quiet way you talk reminds me of how the chair massage lady that comes to my work talks
What a nice little thrift store visit - both are really cool.
I LOVE THRIFTY (THURSDAYS) TINGLES!! ;-) Thanks for keeping them!!
I am so glad that you didn't do away with these videos. They are the best :)
Flame sounds=super tingles!
I thought the candle was actually very cool so I looked it up. You can actually buy "refills" or new coils for it. Pretty darn neat!
Yesss...For some reason I like to study with your videos playing in the background, and tomorrow I have a test so this is perfect! Nice shirt btw :)
You must he such a loving and nurturing mother!
this is one of the best asmr videos thus far!the abacus was my fav! cheers.
Love your videos Ally I watch one everynight to relax me before bed. I think it would be really cool if you did a few talking about space such as planets and galaxies etc. Much love from the UK ps congrats on 100K subscribers :)
Really loved this, I want to go out and buy my own candle by the hour and abacus now hehe.
I can't with the comments on this video asking why she's whispering. This is an ASMR video. It's supposed to be whispered. Lol ;)
This just made my day!!! I'm so glad you did one of these!(: thank you!
I always watch this before i sleep and it was frickin super relaxing my fav vid
Keep it up! 😊👍
Wow 102 thousand suscribers that is amazing i did not rralized that until now that is a blesing cause u do so much for us thanks alot for ehat u do u do an amazing job :0)
Throughout this video I kept getting distracted by how great your skin looks and how nicely you've contoured your cheekbones haha. Can you do a beauty tutorial video??
Love the clicking sounds the candle makes
Nicely done. Cure for migraines! Thanx!
Very nice finds!!! both produced tingles for me. Thanks!!!
Yay Ally!! I like your roleplays (especially Departure) but the other vids are so great too!
A good trigger! Well, Hell's yeah! I don't know what it was about the candle flickering but this was a divine touch you added to the vid. Some may find it interesting that the abacus was feared by some as being a new replacement for the musical instruments know as the tambourine, and the maraca in the late seventies......Yeah right. Excellent video Alley Cat thanks again! I love all of your work.
Yay, the 3 basic rules are back:D
Haha, can't have Thrifty without the rules :P
I love your channel so very much. Your videos help me tremendously. Thank you.
Is there any chance you could do some more in a slightly more subdued light like you used too? I find the dimmer lit videos a bit more relaxing when watching before bed.
Also, have you ever thought about doing some Guided Meditation ones? I find being taken on a journey really comforting when having an anxiety attack.
Sorry I'll stop rambling on now! Thank you Ally xx
This is one of my favorite videos! I love the sound of the candle. ^_^
Me too it's so relaxing and calming one of the best triggers😍
Lovrd the crackling flame sounds!
And when you put your hand around the flame made me very sleepy
