    I started leaving my curls about a month ago and started doing everything you say. Today was my fifth wash since and I feel like I got it. It looks similar to yours. And I can hardly wait to see how much healthier it gets. It felt and looked like straw before now I see defined curls and it actually feels smooth because I’m understanding my hair way better and doing things to it that are healing it. Dead or alive it definitely feels way more healthy. I don’t think I’ll ever blow dry it again.

    The umberto spiral scrunching jelly is AWESOME! 👏 I’ve been using it since it has come out! Been wondering why no one was talking about this product. Absolutely amazing!

    I love the conditioner you're using.
    It doesn't weigh down my low porosity hair.
    The shampoo sadly did weigh my hair down but I do also have dermatitis and psoriasis so assume sometimes I need something a bit harsher or without as many oils.

    Love this routine! I am going try it today. Whenever I tried olaplex oil as a final step, it makes my hair too soft or a bit frizzy. I only use a drop or two. Don’t use it anymore really.

    Another GREAT video!
    Your EXPLAINING IS #1 💯
    I don't know why, but I can't use ANY oil to "seal" cause it does the total contrary, in MY hair. It just messes with the cast and gives me CRAZY frizz! Even with that custard. (I've used it) I wanna get that Ouidad. I've seen it at Sally's lately. Do you think it's "the real thing" (being sold at Sally's?) Thank you so much, as always! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

      I didn't know Sally's carried Ouidad, but I'm sure it's legit if since they are reputable

    This video was helpful. I'm not sure if I have corse hair but it sounds like it from this video. I also have some stubborn greys that I will try your techniques on. I have virgin hair and have a lot of greys coming in. Not planning on dying but I still like having my greys mixed in and not noticeable.

      Coarse refers to the width of your strands. For example, mine are as wide as thread.

    I have the Tangle Teezer Ultimate Detangler and the Curly version that has more tension. Have you tried the Fine and Fragile brush? I love brush styling but wanted to know if that one is the least tension when brush coiling to use on my fragile pieces like around the nape and face framing baby hairs!
    Would love your insight on these 3! ❤

    I've been finding out that hairspray does make my course grey hair feel drier. I have the KCC in my stash, I guess I need to get it and try it. I do some brush styling too.

    Can you explain why Men who have curly hair do not have to do all this process of Shampoo, Conditioner, Curl Creams, Gels, or Mouse, then plop, defuse, then crunch out the crunch?? They just wash & airdry?

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie วันที่ผ่านมา

      Short hair requires less maintenance. When the curls are super short, there’s not enough room to even create frizz. Men with long curly hair do need styling products to make it look better (less frizzy more defined) or they just don’t use styling products because they don’t care how it looks. If I were to go styling product free, my hair would be undefined, frizzy and wild looking. Probably would also get dry quickly.

    Hi Gena, this was really useful! I'm struggling with whole sections of my hair, being mostly grey and very soft. Because they are so soft, they don't even hold loose waves and just look limp and fuzzy. Any advice what to do?

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      For overly soft hair, a strong hold thick gel with grit can help. Another option is using any strong hold gel you like plus a foam, mousse, or hairspray with grit

    I can’t afford a $200 hair dryer. Wish I could but that’s a bit steep. The quidad gel? I went out n bought it n ugh! 😩 it works so horribly on my low porosity hair. It makes it so stringy with no volume at all. The curly custard works really well. N thank u for the condition before advice. ❤

    There's no scientifically proven way to reduce gray hair. Dye works wonders. I recommend sticking as close to your natural color and using bond treatments.
    My hair is as wide as thread. It's never been brittle even when I had it dyed blond. Coarse hair is just the width of the strand. If anything, it's stronger than fine hair.
