At last, a good r5 starting guide
Agreed, like recommendation of teams but I prefer knowing how roles work.
Video in a nutshell, +Some stuff i MUST share to those that needed this video:
1. Need at least 3 front line units
2. DPS is recommended to have some form of utility OR dmg that scales with debuffs
3. Cleanser and Healer both need good SPD and RES, with the latter being 70% at least, to avoid getting stunned. (Veromos is bad for this because Oblivion cancels passives, and the boss has that on one of its skills.)
4. Generally, the boss does AoE attacks, so everyone needs survivability to do well. 16k HP and 1k DEF is good enough.
5. It IS okay to be slow at first if it means a guaranteed success rate. *
6. Lead skills you want are DEF, RES, and CRIT RATE. You do not need any other lead skills so early on.**
7. Try to build just one set of units before transitioning. If possible, DO TRY TO COORDINATE WITH FRIENDS OR GUILD MATES THAT YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING A LOT OF R5 WITH IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
8. Never try to play this solo. You WILL have a hard time. Even JewBagel struggled in his CHI/JPN server accounts to do Raids because of language barriers, hence we don't see him use his teams from those servers.
* This is generally why people did DB10 slow with supports back in 2016 with Vero and Belladeon because they wanted better runes for their squishier but harder hitting monsters to switch for them. This principle applies everywhere and is recently seen in DB12 as well, though Vero is one that was disregarded up to this day...
** When BJR5 is doable and you got the runes, monsters, and skillups, you want to swap the leader skills to ATK, CRIT RATE, and any form of survivability after those two. You could do SPD, even, and not much would differ. Also this is a guide for beginning on R5; if you got a complete BJR5 team then this is not the video or comment for you.

@Allen Silva yea also being in a good guild to get free stuff basically. Build them towers easy when its free. Some of his content is good but his how too guides that go against everything he did or anyone else does are kinda lame. You can't even get into a top end guild without 60+ 6* and he says don't build 6*.
I’ve added light drunken master to my double r5 team. He does damage, atk breaks, heals on 2 skills, and heal blocks. Anti-crit buff helps too very underrated r5 unit.
Water, Wind [and almost Fire] are also great great great in other parts of the game, and the transmog looks great. They are truly very underrated.
Daniel Laplante fire is amazing in guild wars, especially paired with raoq.

Add a fire beast hunter instead and thank me later. Aside from bale he does the most dmg by far. That includes more than kro and brandia. If you dont believe me, come raid with me and watch him do 100k nukes with no cooldowns.
@@VK-el3of Max 50% chance, so "come raid with me and watch him do 100k nukes half of the time". ;) Also this is unreliable as this is way too luck-based.
(While drunken masters have 100% chance)

Stoked, I believe I have the assets for an R5 team. Will have to build some sets for stats and see if I can fit my Ran in cause I went dark over fire ( that transmog is just super hot and dark was badass ) *fingers crossed

As always a good video.
One thing you have to keep in mind: for beginner r5, its crucial to bring the following 3 debuffs: atk break, heal block and def break!
If you lack any of these, the chances that the run fails, increases dramatically.
So the Optimal beginner layout would be: healer, cleanser (with heal), tank (with heal, if cleanser doesnt heal), tank and 2 damage dealers.
Important here: the units which provide the 3 debuffs should have decent resistance, especially if they are cleansers or healers. Resistance on damage dealers is also nice, since they put out the damage more consistently.
Also you only need 15 accuracy to land debuffs.
The most consistent reliable and somewhat fast team i used for the longest time was: lisa (fast tanky violent high resist), fire panda (slow revenge super tanky), colleen (fast vio revenge/nemesis high resist) frontline and hwa (high dmg, fast) + mihyang (vio fast semi dmg build).

Very useful guide. Tried this formula. I did not have a Konamiya so I used Velajuel even though you did not recommended it. He still cleanses even though his immunity is not as useful. Thank you this team works like a charm.

tbh bastet cant be replaced in that comp. shield (extra survivability), atk break glance def break healblock, atk buff. without bastet that team will have 0 debuff contribution to the boss
Fire pinda is fuseable, with same lead and good debuff

@Allen Silva im not focusing on what i dont have, what im saying is that team wont work without bastet, youll just get kicked from pub r5 because you dont contribute debuffs which makes the run safer.

Well, I play for 5 years and I still use Dias, fire panda, Colleen, Xiao Ling, Hwa and Konamiya :D
For god sake bastet is not replaceable, she’s ur leader skill Atk buffer and provides an insane amount of debuffs... with sustain ofc... no unit can do all of those things and your team would not work without her

I use fran Loren bella Hwa kro konimyia all ftp except Hwa and I can do r5 under 1:30 almost every time

Jamie (dark bounty hunter) is pretty good too. His third skill can cleanse all debuffs and gives IAP for 3 turns. Also he can become a damage dealer too.
his ai is really bad wastes the cleanse for att buff every damn time even if all units have att buff

Awsome! Watching your guides, cleared TOAH yesterday (day 52 beginner account). Next target is rifts. For now I still didn't pop any scroll exept unknown. Thx for great work.
I think nowadays you can just directly go into BJR5 or BJR4, that's why I did after 5-6 months of playing. After farming gb10 for a few months, you can directly go into nb10 and farm until you have the runes for Baleygr. Until then, if you farm your reapps every week you should get some fight runes, even more if you farmed for a homonculus. It takes more time, but you don't have to make a whole team 6* and with good runes just for R5, since only your Bale needs a good set and the other don't necessarily need to be 6* and can have mediocre fight / will runes. It's not as hard as you think, I have 2 guildies with approximately the same play time and they also do BJR5 !
On another note...BEGINNER GUIDE > Put a picture of every side option they need, me include might not know every single summon by name. And well Bastet is a nat5, so good luck adding that one to the team (if available on a special shop, should be mention...beginner guide again). By the way all the formula for tankines brakes off since you are running a nat5 shield on top, making the team look way tankier than it's.

Here I am 9 months after this video came out and I have been tinkering with 2-man r5 with my main and my alt. I have been cussing for months because I could not get anything reliable. at best I was running 80% at 1:45-2:00 minute. Watched this, built the team shown on my alt (thankfully had Bastet) and now I have gone 2 days without a fail at 1:45 avg. Is it BJ5 fast? No. I mean I could do BJ5 EZPZ on main, but I don't want to be tied to others, and I farm while sitting at my desk at work. Thanks Sean!

The hardest challenge in Raids is finding people to raid with. With a single glance, you can tell if a team will work or not and you don't even need to see their runes.

As a newer player (not *new* in terms of how long ive been playing but new in terms of progress and i did take like a 1 1/2 year long break) i may build this exact team, as i was lucky enough to summon a bastet a LONG time ago but was never able to use her properly so she sits in storage. Now if im being honest tho i still dont have a reliable DB10 team but one day ill be able to build this all i need rn is kro, and i can get him from a dungeon easy

Would you recommend running bjr4 even when you are able to run 2min normal r5 in order to still be able to farm grinds faster? (Keep in mind i can find 20 bjr4 teammates in the time of finding 1/2 ok normal r5’ers that dont wipe)
I would recommend you do R5 until you can do BJR5 direcltly since you already have a R5 team
