Undoubtedly this great housewarming inspired by the even grander Holkham hall where again the monumental central block was for state and parade and the display of art and taste. The great hall at Holkham also displays the wonderful variegated Derbyshire alabaster in its cladding and columns ..
Almost the Versailles of Derbyshire - wealth of Curzon family must been staggering, such opulence, your film gives real sense of the grand scale of the place. Not somewhere to actually live though, Love the moment by the fountain, at start, where your shadow seems to greet the shadow of the statue, Engaging vlog again Rich, made me want to find out the Curzon story(& yes the Adams decorative work v beautiful)
It’s becomes really obvious as you walk around the building that no one ever lived there, bedroom next to the dining room then the withdrawing room on the other side of the building. Also don’t remember seeing a kitchen. The place is just one massive showroom but absolutely stunning!
@@stephengraham5099 you are not wrong on both counts amazing place it would be hard not to get some good shots and perhaps I rushed the edit and forgot to check sound levels. Thank for your feedback
What should have been a fascinating look inside a reletively unknown building, was totally ruined by the overbearing, unnessesary and needlessly dramatic accompanying music.
Stunning place. I sometimes went there when I lived in Derby in the 1980s. The Marble Hall is wonderful.
It really is, my favourite room so far!

Must add Holkman to my list of must see! Thank you

Some very good shots, but did your finger slip on the volume control for the music?😇
